  1. League's too big, rosters are too small. Two fewer owners and two more roster spots per team would have worked quite well, I think. The auction part was fun and different, even as late as I showed up. The experience we're dealing with in the baseball league right now is seriously working my nerves, so obviously I'm not keen to deal with board drafts any more than I absolutely have to. Outside of football, I don't feel like I want to deal with another board draft ever again...and even then, I'm going to have to seriously weigh it this season. As I said in baseball, you can easily spot the people in a board draft that will give up on the draft, and they're usually the ones that will give up on the season. So, maybe the advance warning is a good thing? Only positive I got.
  2. Perhaps we find a time in the next day or two when those who want to make their picks all the way through get together on MSN? The "Follow the rankings" people's spots get autopicked, the rest of us can have the experience of a very abridged live draft, and rosters are full by the time the Japanese are nauseated by having to sit through the first game of A's/Mariners.
  3. I gotta say, I'm pleasantly shocked to be 9-3 after having about 20 bucks to buy 80% of my roster. The waiver wire has been very friendly to me this season. God bless Goran Dragic, Al Harrington and Sam Dalembert.
  4. Essentially, if they don't send a list, give them the highest ranked and move on. All this skipping picks is getting ludicrous. If people don't give enough of a shit to participate in the draft, then we're going to have exactly four people playing by the All-Star break. That's what always annoys the hell out of me about EWB leagues.
  5. Hmm, forgot that I put Cabrera that high on the list. Got a shortstop for trade afterwards if anyone's interested.
  6. So, I can has my whole list and everyone else can pound sand? (Y)
  7. I think 9 to 5 read my list before he made his last two picks.
  8. The flood of Colts growing into Broncos isn't going to materialize, but they did pick up Jacob Tamme (and Joel Dreessen), giving Peyton a good 2-TE set to work with. And Jeff Saturday is headed to Green Bay. It's got to be awkward, having to get used to another man's hands lovingly caressing your buttocks receiving your snaps after so many years with one quarterback. In an unrelated note, my wife will be sad to see Saturday in another uniform. EDIT: And somewhat related to Barber, has anyone taken note of the bargain rates on RB's now, especially bruisers like Michael Bush and Mike Tolbert? Bush got 14M over 4 years and Tolbert got about 10M. If Forte thinks he's ever getting much more than that franchise tag is worth, he's on serious chemicals.
  9. Tim Tebow We laugh now, but if Peyton goes to Denver, Stephen Ross will have his front office spamming John Elway for weeks. If they can't get a good QB, at least they can get one who'll move swag and keep the team on SportsCenter 439 days a year.
  10. Louisville would be a decent addition to damshow's list. Like OKC was, their only pro sport is a minor-league baseball team. Depends on how "close" you'd consider it to Indianapolis. Still, Indiana and Kentucky have kind of a contentious basketball relationship, so it could make for a good rivalry with the Pacers.
  11. 47 picks in 18 days. At this rate, our rosters will be filled on June 12th.
  12. Houston's one more lineman walking from Schaub being incapable of walking next season. The defense was decent without Mario last year, but having him gone permanently is something totally different. If the Titans screw up getting Peyton and watch all of free agency pass them by in the process, the AFC South will be veering fast toward NFC West 2010 territory. And I'll laugh my ass off.
  13. So could the Nats, I think. The whole NL East should be pretty competitive. As soon as it disavows any knowledge of the lolMets' existence, that is.
  14. I prefer to look ahead to Bourn being a madman on the basepaths and Dan Uggla hitting a lot more like his second half (.301/.386/.596) than his first half (.173/.241/.327). If anyone from that bionic Philly rotation goes down, I feel like the Braves can pounce.
  15. There's got to be a Texans fan here somewhere who can give you the complete set.
  16. Yes. Steve Austin will show up in Durham and give Peyton a Stunner. Tebow will then reveal, "It was me, Manning! It was me all along!" Tebow has gained overness from this heel turn.
  17. I know it's not the best fit, but I still hold out hope the Titans can pull this off and nab 'im. Yeah, the whole "Manning returns to TN" thing would be great, but he would easily bring them into playoff contention and could stick it to Indy twice a year, as he'd stay in the same division. As a Colts fan, I am duly obliged to tell you to go to hell, Midge. Nothing personal. The last thing I want is to watch Peyton stomp on the Colts' hopes and dreams twice a year. If he goes to Denver, he goes with all my blessings. Go win one for Elway and Pat Bowlen, not for that senile old coot Bud Adams.
  18. Going to a 4-3 with Mario, Dareus and Kyle Williams on the front, that's a pretty bad-ass line depending on who fills the fourth spot. Another LB and another CB, and the whole defense should be strong. Now, can Harvard's OTHER favorite athlete stop doing his Rex Grossman impression?
  19. Always hate noting that a pick's been made and getting momentarily excited, hoping that we're going to get on a roll...then noting that the next drafter is British and that it's about 5 AM there.
  20. It would really put the cherry on the shit sundae that's been the Pac-12 this season for Cal to bomb and Colorado to bone me (and MPH) out of Vegas making a run. Sure, NOW someone from that conference does something right.
  21. I'm in the same boat on both of those, plus I also lost Long Beach and WVU. The Elite 8 pick for Vegas is definitely looking shaky. Glad to see Vanderbilt finally got some therapy for that first-round mental block. Now, I only need them to win two more. I'm also highly thankful that most of the bracket services simply list "Play-In Winner" rather than making you specify a team, since I expected Cal to make the Sweet 16. Now, I have to root for South Florida to win two more. It'd be fine, except watching their games is slightly more boring than watching flies fuck.
  22. For a five-year contract reported to be worth $55,555,555. Somebody had to have lost a bet.
