  1. Is anyone else getting disconnected randomly from the EA networks while playing HUT? It's cost me so many fucking tournaments now, it's annoying. I'll be playing a game, all of a sudden it'll pause and say I've been disconnected, quit's my game and sends me back to the main menu. This, of course, costs me a loss as well as that tournament, as well as the contract and career's on my players. Bullshit, I say.
  2. Judging from what I had read on NHL.com a few minutes ago, I'd say it's probably worth it.
  3. Just nabbed a pair of tickets for me and the missus to go see the Leafs vs Jets on the 19th, first time the two will meet. Should be a good game for sure. Last time we went, it was Ottawa vs Toronto and there were no fucking goals until the shootout, in which Toronto lost. Let's hope we get some action this time around. Also, hopefully the Leafs keep their win streak going until that game, as I'll get to see them go 5-0 if they win
  4. Montreal beats Winnipeg 5-1, and Kostitsyn still somehow manages to go -1. Fucking guy.
  5. God damn that car is fast. I can barely handle the thing, even though the handling is amazing.
  6. Very true, stupid me. He was a Cap soon before that though
  7. Someone tell me which guy I'm playing tonight, I just can't decide. Sergei Kostitsyn (NSH vs StL) or Brooks Laich (WAS vs CAR). Also, damn my luck. I have four d-men from Buffalo in my one league (don't ask why, I have no idea why), so I decide to sit one out in place of Oliver Ekman-Larsson to see how he does tonight. I have Erhoff, Leopold, Sekera, and Gragnani, so I decided on Gragnani to sit out. Of course, he gets an assist and is +3 while the other three combine for a +1 with nothing else to show. Ekman-Larsson better play good tonight EDIT: Leafs doing work once again tonight. 2-0 in the first, lets hope this keeps up! EDIT 2: Schenn is so not a fighter. Steckel is such a fucking gift from the Caps Jersey, my mistake. Sososo worth it. Thank you Washington Joisey! And Reimer, golden. Kessel with two! Cmon Hat trick There it is, hat trick. Rough 3rd period though, almost blew the game. Hopefully this week long break does them well. One plus side, it lets them know they can be scored on so they can work on that now. EDIT: Yes, Jersey My bad
  8. That first one alone is worth that double post. It's like they've all taken notes from the game.
  9. Aha, that is golden. I love it. EDIT: lol, Lose-ungo. Smoked in the shootout.
  10. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Shitty, but make's it more interesting. So it's basically who I do think will have a better day, right? Do you know if your Utility slot means the player is in the lineup, or is benched? Nevermind, I stopped being lazy and looked it up. They collect points in the Util slot, so not benched. My couple debates for Saturday's busy gameday. League 1: 4th W - Andrew Brunette (CHI vs DAL) or Andy McDonald (StL vs NSH) or Matt Cooke (PIT vs CGY) League 2: Utility Slot - Jake Gardiner (TOR vs OTT) or Oliver Ekman-Larsson (PHO vs SJ) League 3: Should I swap Brooks Laich (WAS vs CAR) with someone? Spots he could play are; LW - taken by Vanek (BUF vs LA) and Kulemin (TOR vs OTT) W - taken by Loui Eriksson (DAL vs CHI) F - taken by Grabo (TOR vs OTT) Util - taken by Sergei Kostitsyn (NSH vs StL) Only thinkable option for me would possibly be swapping with Kostitsyn, but not sure.
  11. Yep, luckily I did mine this morning. Glad it tells you who has games that day though, or it'd be a hell of a lot more work. I'm glad I picked Pascal Dupuis as he's just racked up an assist for me. EDIT: Just happened to notice I can set my lineup days in advance. Saturday is a busy day in my one league. Anyone know if I'm able to switch players out of my lineup after they've played their game, and put in someone else who has a game later on? Say for instance, I have Christian Erhoff in a game at 2:00 on Saturday, and John-Michael Liles in a game at 7:00. Would I be able to have Erhoff in my lineup until his games over, and then swap him out for JML by 7:00? First time fantasy leaguer here
  12. Matthew Lombardi, Dion Phaneuf and #TMLTalk are all trending on twitter. Sup now, Habs? Oh, and Don Cherry too
  13. So, the parade shall run from one end of Younge St to the other. REIMER WITH THE SEASON OPENING SHUTOUT! First opening night shutout since Belfour was in net!
  14. Same, for sure. Kulie's been trying, so hopefully in the third. This 5on3 didn't look too great though. PHA-NEUF! 2-0 LEAFS! I love our PK now, and Reimer is playing solid as well. Steckel is 15-6 on draws, very nice.
  15. My god, I missed Don Cherry. I love the rants. EDIT: Welcome back Lombardi! 1-0 Leafs! I knew taking Lombardi in my one of my fantasy leagues would work out. 1 goal! I've changed my mind on Steckel, aswell. I'm definitely glad we got this guy. Killing it on the faceoffs on the PK.
  16. Fuck all your predictions, the Leafs are making the playoffs this year
  17. For faceoffs, I usually hold the right stick either left or right depending on if I want forehand or backhand, and where I want it to go (as certain ways pass to certain d-men easier). Then, while holding it left/right, wait for the Ref's arm to stretch out to drop the puck and when it does, rotate it along the side down to the middle, while at the same time pointing the LEFT stick to which d-man you want it to go you. If you hold the Right stick left, it's easier to pass to the d-man on your right. If you hold the Right stick right, it's easier to pass to the d-man on your left. Of course, my skater shoots right handed, so if you're a lefty, it's the complete opposite for you. As for rotating the right stick up, I find that tapping or holding L1 while you rotate it up helps, as well as moving the left stick forwards, to push yourself into the opposing guy. I've found it's a lot harder this year to win faceoffs rotating it up though, and damn near impossible to do the deke around faceoff win.
  18. Well, fuck. I like the Leafs and all, but I didn't need my season to end exactly like theirs did. Comes down to the final two games, and I've been in a battle for the 8th seed with Montreal and Carolina for the past two weeks. With two left to play, we're in 9th and three points behind Montreal with 91pts, and we're tied with Carolina for 88. I hope that if we get our shit together and win the final two, and catch a bit of luck and Montreal lose both, we may make a slide in. Well, we end up winning our first game, but of course, the Canadiens won and voila, I'm hit with Leafs-Syndrome. Now I'm left to play one meaningless game knowing we've missed the playoffs by two damn points (which could possibly be four if we lose to Ottawa here) Beat Ottawa. -- After my first NHL season, and unfortunately missing the playoffs, we managed to get together a record of 42-32-8. Here's the stats I managed to put up. Note that I'll be bumping the difficulty to the hardest next season, as clearly I've dominated way too much this one in certain areas and I'll only be improving stat-wise. Goals - 64 Assists - 92 Points - 156 (Other stats in spoiler) What I led the league in, with 2nd and 3rd place in spoilers for fun Also, just noticed my goalie, M. Garon, finished with 10 assists. Lulz, but he retired at the end of this year, so a good note to go out on. Chicago and Philly met in the Stanley Cup finals after beating Calgary and Montreal respectively. Philly went on to win it in 5 games. The trophies I brought home are the Art Ross Trophy, the Hart Memorial Trophy, the Calder Memorial Trophy, the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, the Ted Lindsay Award, the Maurice Richard Trophy, and my name was on the short list for the Frank J. Selke Trophy says my coach.
  19. lol, Sergei Titties. You're set on forwards, SDM, nice job. D could use a beefup though.
  20. I like the left one, right ones a bit weird.
  21. Out of them, the only one I'd want to see go is, well, Steckel. I don't think his 1 goal last year is worth a 4th rounder.
  22. Was just offered this trade in one of my fantasy leagues, anyone got any opinions on it? (Bold is my player) Anton Babchuk (Cgy - D) 11g, 24a, 35pts, 6ppg, 7ppa, 1shg, 2gwg for Zach Bogosian (Wpg - D) 5g, 12a, 17pts, 0ppg, 4ppa, 0shg, 1gwg + Magnus Paajarvi (Edm - W) 15g, 19a, 34pts, 3ppg, 6ppa, 0shg, 0gwg I'm thinking about it because Babchuk is my 4th D (out of 4), so he's a bit expendable. Also because both Bogosian and Paajarvi could very well have good years.
