  1. Towerfall Ascension is on sale so I'm glad that I waited before taking the plunge. Cel Damage is crazily cheap too so that must be worth getting for £2.50

Anyone in the Hardline beta? I'm having fun with it but I also haven't played an online FPS for about 6 years and I haven't got a fucking clue what's going on or how to do anything but shoot people.

  2. I wasn't too keen on the first episode of Game of Thrones but I loved Tales of the Borderlands and I have absolutely no love for that game universe at all. I got a real Firefly vibe from it. Almost like you could have that rag-tag group running into different enemies every week and it would work really well as a TV show.

  3. Origins is a great game and II is decent too. Not as good, but in terms of characters and events does a lot to set up Inquisition.

For Origins all the DLC is good, the only one I wouldn't bother with is Darkspawn Chronicles. Definitely get the awakenings expansion, it's a whole game in of itself.

Not sure about the other ones, but playing Inquisition I really wish I'd have played the Legacy DLC from II.

Awesome, man. Thanks. The DA1 on the PSN store comes with Awakening so I'll dig right in.

  4. So glad I waited on buying Transistor and Apotheon looks cool! Hope it has some depth to it outside of the art style. And I guess it's time for me to experience a Yakuza game.

Also, Dragon Age: Origins and DA2 are currently on sale for incredibly cheap so should I dig into those to get a grasp on the universe and events before i play Inquisition? And if so, what DLC is recommended to flesh more of that out for both games? I know Dragon Age 2 isn't supposed to be very good but I really don't want to be lost with Inquisition, as I've heard it doesn't really explain a lot of previous events.

  5. I'd give Stiva a sticky bomb.

    Who wouldn't tbh?

    D'awww.

I took advantage of the sale and 10% discount to pick up the Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands season passes for around £20 so I can't complain about that.

  6. Am I the only one that thinks Mark Ronson's Uptown Special is really good?

I spent last weekend in a big holiday home with 8 of my friends, all who enjoy different music and in some cases, very little music at all. I queued up the best parts of this album and everyone enjoyed it. It'll be a brilliant summer album, without a doubt.

2015 has been really good in its first month IMO but it could be because a lot of bands/artists I like are putting stuff out (Sleater-Kinney, Ty Segall, Belle and Sebastian, Panda Bear) but I've really enjoyed Jazmine Sullivan, B.C. Camplight, Viet Cong and Universal Togetherness Band's releases. If you enjoy ambient/electronic stuff, you could do a lot worse than Cliff Martinez' "My Life as Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn" soundtrack. Reminds me of the Mass Effect soundtrack in parts with it's use of synths.

  7. It is fun even if you're terrible. It does have a steep learning curve, but as this thread doesn't have many pages, have a read through for some tips.

Yeah, this is really fun and I SUCK. I'm terrible at even getting a clean swing consistently. I'm scared to tap L2

  8. Halfway through Walking Dead Season 2 right now and I really like it. I think it lacks the central partnership that made the first one great but as a "Clementine is going to grow up into a badass" story, I think it works really well. Some really good story beats, even if it changes very little mechanically from the first game. You go into it knowing what you're going to expect and I'm pretty riveted by it. Not all of the new characters are slam-dunks but Carver is such an unlikable dickhead, written and voiced to perfection.

GoT looks pretty on-point from those screens/videos and I hope they've put together an interesting story for it.

  9. I'm going to grab this since it's on sale because man, the last golf game I played was probably on the PS2, discounting the mini-game in GTAV. Any little tips I should know before I start or is this still fun when you're terrible?

  10. I'll probably pick up The Crew because I like to see pretty racing graphics on my new consoles. I'm looking forward to the new Lara Croft game too; Guardian of Light was a really good game so I'm excited to see what this introduces to the mix. Witcher 3 is incredible to look at but I couldn't really get into Witcher 2 so I'm not sure if I should be excited or not.

  11. If you're getting Nidhogg, get Sportsfriends as well.

Already got that on PS3 when it was up there, same with Spelunky but thanks for the rec all the same. Nidhogg is probably going to be after Christmas when I pick up a second controller but yeah, I agree, Spelunky is amazing. Discovering everything that game had to offer was one of my favourite experiences of the past 5 years or so.

  12. Don't get The Swapper just yet, it's free on PSN in January, so if you can hold out that long that'll be ace.

Get Destiny and GTA for no other reason than I wanna play viddy games with Stiva. Alternatively wait until I get Far Cry before you start playing that.

Sure, I can wait for The Swapper. If I can get a good deal on FIFA, I'll pick up GTA, for sure, my man. If not, it'll probably be a Christmas present/sales purchase.

  13. Just ordered a PS4 with Far Cry 4 for £329 on Amazon (I got one of two left if you're quick about it) and I'm probably going to get FIFA 15 from Gumtree or eBay. Already signed up to Boomerang so I'm going to fill in what I've missed (Mordor, Infamous etc.) but what am I missing from PSN? Looking to get:

    Transistor

    Nidhogg

    Rogue Legacy

    Octodad

    The Swapper

Valiant Heart (maybe, I just really like the art)

Anything on the store I may not know about?
