    #23 No Strings Attached

It was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Ashton Kutcher & Natalie Portman had pretty good chemistry and the writing was pretty good. Romantic Comedies are always predictable but you know that coming into it. Was decent enough for a watch.

#24 A Nightmare On Elm Street

Decided to rewatch the original Nightmare movie. Freddy Krueger scared me when I was younger and this movie had a very nostalgia feel to me. Still love it. Story is good. Scary. Characters are somewhat retarded but it's an 80's horror movie. Was good fun and something that I think ill be able to watch again and again.

    #25 Megamind

Don't know how I missed this kids movie. Thought it was pretty funny and was good fun. Watched it with my niece and she loved it to. Was worth the watch.

    #26 Red 2

Wasn't as good as the first one and kind of left me with a "meh" feeling. Could of been better but could of been a hell of alot worse too. I thought the characters were still good though, just the story wasn't the best. John Malkovich was still the highlight of the movie for me.

    #27 Bad Boys 2

This movie cracked me up. I've seen it plenty of times before but something about it just draws me back to it when I'm bored and I see it sitting there. I find this one much better than the original and both Lawrence & Smith are great in this film.

    16. Runner, Runner

    17. The Wolverine

    18. Insidious Chapter 2

    #19 Ride Along

Wasn't a fan. I do like both Ice Cube and Kevin Hart but something just felt off. I got the occasional laugh but nothing that would make me ever want to sit through watching this movie again.

    #20 Grudge Match

Looking at both men I wondered how they would make the grudge match look somewhat fair and they did a good job with it. I didn't mind the movie and the jabs at Rocky and what not as they actually made sense within the movie.

    #21 Thor: The Dark World

Maybe I was just having an off day because not even this movie felt good to me. There was nothing wrong so speak with the film I just didn't get the wow factor that I had watching previous marvel films. I feel as though Loki is just about played out now and with the ending of the flim, it just doesn't seem that is the case with the story. The after credits scene got me looking forward to guardians of the galaxy though, so that is something.

    #22 Odd Thomas

Had never heard of this film til I flicked it on to watch. Surprised me. I liked it. Story was good, twist at the end was somewhat foreseeable but still surprised me when it actually happened. Don't think they'll make a sequel but its open enough for more story which I'd definitely take a look at.

  3. The List So Far:

    1. Fruitvale Station

    2. The Spectacular Now

    3. Out Of The Furnace

    4. Chronicle

    5. Armored

    6. Good Will Hunting

    8. Wolf Of Wall Street

    9. Escape Plan

    10. Justice League: War

    11. You're Next

    12. Maniac (2013)

    13. Last Vegas

    14. This Is The End

    #15 Invincible

Didn't mind it. It's got a decent enough story behind it. Mark Wahlberg though just didn't do it for me, he just came across so bland. Decent sports movie although nowhere near the top of my favourite sports movies list.

    #16 Runner, Runner

Surprised me a bit. I liked it. I understand if others didn't but I went into it with little expectations after the bagging it copped and yeah thought it was ok. Ben Affleck played his villain role perfectly and Justin Timberlake was meh, ok in parts, horrible in others. Story was good and executed well enough.

    #17 The Wolverine

Infinity times better than the previous wolverine movie. I'll echo the sentiments that the final boss fight was horrible but it was what it was. I kinda wonder how much longer Hugh Jackman can actually play Wolverine for though. Story was good though and made sense in the context of the character.

    #18 Insidious Chapter 2

Man was I disappointed here. Loved the first film and was looking forward to this one and it just let me down. I can't even put my finger on why. Just didn't get the scares out of me like the first one did and I thought the story was much, much weaker than in the first.

  4. So at the start of the year I mentioned I'd do this as well in the "what did you watch today" thread so I thought I'd add it in here too... I've been pretty slack lately with my watchings and am falling a fair bit behind but ill usually watch 2-4 things at a time, so I don't think catching up should be too hard... Hopefully... All thoughts on movies in the list for this post are already posted in the other thread...

    The List So Far:

    1. Fruitvale Station

    2. The Spectacular Now

    3. Out Of The Furnace

    4. Chronicle

    5. Armored

    6. Good Will Hunting

    #7 Don Jon

Liked it. Thought JGL did a good job with the writing, directing and acting. Solid movie and story which didn't feel to drag on like it could have.

    #8 Wolf Of Wall Street

Loved it for the most part. Wasn't til near the end when I thought, holy hell this has felt like it's gone forever. Leo continues to play some awesome parts and Jonah Hill surprised me a little more.

    #9 Escape Plan

Predictable. Arnold & Stallone, can't complain too much. It is what it is. I didn't love it, didn't hate it. I did get a laugh out of some parts of it but yeah just your ordinary prison break movie imo. Jim Caviezel is someone I usually like watching, not this movie though, he just came across so bland and cheesy in parts.

    #10 Justice League: War

Was another great DC animated film. They seem to know exactly what they're doing with the animated films and this reboot was perfect and sets up some great things for the future.

    #11 You're Next

Messy. I didn't like it. People had talked it up a little bit to me though and that could have been why it was a downer but yeah I didn't think it was very good and the acting was bad.

    #12 Maniac (2013)

Remake of an original which i'd never seen. Was gory and nicely done. Man I thought the score was pretty suspenseful and gave a pretty scary vibe too it. Elijah Wood really surprised me and gave a great performance.

    #13 Last Vegas

I got some good laughs out of an awesome veteran cast. Story was perfect and everybody played their part well. Not a must watch but it's a decent enough watch.

    #14 This Is The End

Man, each time I watch this movie, I get more laughs out of it and I love it a bit more. Was definitely one of my favourite movies from last year. Hopefully the actors do more of these films where they play themselves to a degree, came across perfect and everybody had something awesome to do.

  5. Yeah I was surprised Davis didn't make it in either! I really wish Goran Dragic made the team as well but I guess that's just cause I'm a Suns fan and he's been huge so far for them this season...

I'm not a fan of the Derozan choice either, like you, I think Lowry would have been a more worthy choice from the Raptors... However I think either of Aaron Afflalo or Lance Stephenson would have been more worthy choices than Derozan too...

I see the West winning this game by a fair margin, just think their roster is better overall and the spots have been filled well...

Have they said whether Kobe is playing or named a replacement or anything yet?

  6. #4 Chronicle

Urgh. Thought this movie had so much potential and it's just wasted. The acting is good and I thought Dane DeHann (?) was actually pretty good as the eventual villian however, I just felt like I wanted more out of the experience. I could understand if others liked this, just felt like a let down to me.

    #5 Armored

It is what it is. I actually like most of the cast here and they do alright with what they are given. I wasn't expecting much more than your generic heist film and it pretty much delivered on that.

    #6 Good Will Hunting

How had I never watched this movie before? I guess I looked at it and thought "Nah, that'll be too boring". It wasn't though. Great story and even better acting. I can see why this launched some careers. If anybody hasn't seen this movie, I recommend it.

Only 359 movies to go :P

  7. Don't see Houston doing it... They've got Parsons, don't really need Deng... Just doesn't make any sense...

I think Deng is definitely the type of player that Cleveland need at the moment and he'll help out a great deal... He has no problem been the second or third option on a team and he contributes in alot of areas... I've never been a fan but he fits here... I think they'll get rid of Waiters soon as well but even if they don't, I think this deal puts them back into a good spot to finish around the 4-6 in the eastern conference...

  8. I personally don't like the deal but meh what can you do... Deng helps Cleveland alot whereas the bulls really only save some cash and get 2 2nd round picks...

2014 first round draft pick from Sacramento

Sacramento's 1st round pick to Cleveland protected for selections 1-12 in 2014, 1-10 in 2015, 1-10 in 2016 or 1-10 in 2017; if Sacramento has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Cleveland by 2017, then Sacramento will instead convey its 2017 2nd round pick to Cleveland protected for selections 56-60 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Sacramento's obligation to Cleveland will be extinguished) [Cleveland-Sacramento, 6/30/2011]

That's what I could find on the 1st going in the deal and in all likelihood I just don't see the bulls getting a 1st out of this lol

So how long now until Miami snap Bynum up?

  9. I saw zero's post about wanting to watch 365 movies throughout 2014 and I've decided to do the same, thought it was a great idea and a great way for me to catch up on some movies I may have missed or just some that I haven't watched in a long time... So thanks for the idea zero (H) ... Knocked off early from work today and knocked three out of the way which was great, not only because they were three that I'd wanted to watch but never got around to but it also gave me a chance to catch up on a couple of the missed days...

    #1 Fruitvale Station

Loved it. Thought the acting was awesome and the story (true story which made it worse) was sad and compelling. Definitely had my attention for the entire length. Definitely one of the best movies I've seen from last year.

    #2 The Spectacular Now

Yeah, I like the indie feel kind of movies with good writing and unique characters that you can relate to. Both leads I thought played the part well and the supporting cast was equally as impressive (anything with Kyle Chandler ill give a go). Pretty predictable but wasn't expecting too much more than what it gave me.

    #3 Out Of The Furnace

Heard good things about this for awhile and I'm glad I finally got around to watching it. It got me and I didn't want to stop watching. Christian Bale and Woody Harrellson were amazing. Recommend this for people that haven't seen it yet.

  10. I think they've got no choice but to move Monroe at this stage... Too much money invested in Smith for them to move him... Too much potential in Drummond to move him... They didn't want to extend Monroe in the offseason, he just seems to be the easy out at this point...

I'd go all out and try and revisit a deal for Rondo if its possible... I'd offer a deal with Jennings, Monroe and a 1st for Rondo and I think Boston would be stupid not to look at it hard...

There is nothing wrong with Cheeks... I think he has done well with what he's got... They just don't space the court well enough in the couple of games I've watched and some of the offensive choices they make are painful to watch... Yet they occasionally flash something special...

I do think they'll make the playoffs as is but they aren't going far without some tweaks...
