I'll say that most remakes are disappointing because they just take the old game, slap on new paint, throw in some meaningless extras, and charge full price. Remake took a 5 hour segment of the original game and managed to expand it into a full game that only in rare moments felt like it was meandering about in order to seem longer. I was very skeptical when they announced that as the plan for the game but there was so much to get out of Midgar that hadn't yet been tapped - and we're going to revisit it in game 3 where probably more can be added in.

Now we're entering the stage of the original game that narratively had an absurd amount happen and we're expected to go through all those locales that likely don't grow in scale too much from the original game (though I have expectations Junon is going to be a pretty involved chapter). But there's a ton of content to get in the game and I'm cautiously optimistic they give everywhere the same level of care as Midgar got. Worried this will feel more like a "traditional" remake where it's the old game with better graphics and performance.

If the demo is anything to go by I’m not too worried, Nibelheim was a small, but certainly filled out with enough people to look like a busy village. All the talks of people who have played it seem to be saying it is huge.

It looks amazing but the State of Play also looked like it was going to spoil most of the cool moments from the game so I switched it off after a few minutes.

Not sure if I'll bother with the demo or not as I'm deep into Persona 3 Reload at the moment.

If you get time I'd just go with the demo, as it won't spoil anything.

Derek Adams has been the most entertaining thing in Scottish football this season. Crazy thing is that he is now saying he didn't do his research before taking the job and regrets taking over. He's only been a player and manager there multiple times, how can you not know the difficulty of managing Ross County? Looking for the sack and pay-off.

In other news, Queen's Park have had an abysmal season and were flirting with relegation after almost running away with the Championship last year. Thankfully they have sacked the Dutch fellas who had no idea what they were doing and Callum Davidson's taken over, with an immediate improvement. Feels weird following all the drama from so far away.

He’s an absolute lying fanny too. League Two is absolutely rotten, wouldn’t see anyone in League Two beating Eintracht Frankfurt. Sooner he’s gone the better for Scottish football.

I don’t really see how tinkering with agent fees would make much of a practical difference. Let clubs pay agents and it’s a world where the clubs with the most economic power have a ridiculous advantage over everyone else. Prevent clubs from paying agents and …it’s a world where the clubs with the most economic power have a ridiculous advantage over everyone else. What does it really change? The teams still have the economic advantage and the money they don’t spend on agent fees would otherwise just go to inflating the wage packet.

Something more fundamental is required. This is just vanity tinkering (which is why FIFA were willing to do it).

Something like FFP? :shifty: Football will never change now, the gap is just going to get wider. My only hope is when the richest clubs do make their own league it's abandoned by most fans and the clubs die. Extremely doubtful though.

    Just completed Super Mario Wonder.

What a delightful game that is! And some of the 5 star levels do not fuck around. That's as good start to the year!

Finished it when I was away working over Christmas, that and Super Mario RPG were absolutely wonderful. Would highly recommend RPG if you've not played that.

    Fraud of a manager tbf.

Came out after he was gone he’d banned one of the most hard working liked players from the training ground at Rangers. Wouldn’t even let him say bye to the other players when he left. Just a horrible second hand car salesman.

I take it back, just got to the second continent and chaining battles is ridiculous for levelling. 😂

MLS I think prides itself on its utter lack of transparency when it comes to the salary cap and how teams stay compliant with it. And I think that's going to continue to be the theme with Miami, a club that has already broken the salary cap rules. Both Suarez and Alba, by MLS rules, can each only make $1.6m a year with Miami. That's roughly $31k a week. It's been a long, long time since either made that little money for their club, and I will be shocked if that's all they're actually getting paid for real to be in Miami.

They’ll probably get round it with side contracts with other companies.
