  1. The Mission Impossible film franchise still excites me. 1 is a great old 90s flick, 2-3 was the slump, then its been great from 4 onwards.

As for the MCU, whilst I don't go crazy and see every film in the cinema, I'm more than happy to watch every entry when they are available on streaming. I think the TV side of things has actually been quite solid, and some of the shows have been quite unique, whilst still being very 'Marvel'. For example, I think the Ms. Marvel series was generally a load of fun.

I was never overly fussed about the DC equivalent because its been a hot mess from the start. But James Gunn being at the helm means I will at least give it a shot.

  2. Realistically how long can the writers strike continue to go on before it starts having major effects on films? We've seen Marvel shuffle things around due to it - is there a possibility there comes a time when no new Hollywood made movies are in cinemas and they just have to import films from abroad?

Three wins out of three is excellent for Scotland. Even if they don't finish in the top two, they'll have a guaranteed playoff spot, so it's looking good.

For Norway, on the other hand, one point in three games is disastrous.

Scotland should absolutely be targeting top 2 now. In fact, anything less than that would be a bit of a disappointment. They've beaten Spain and Norway in back to back qualifiers.

Not huge news on the grand scale of international football news, but David McGoldrick has signed for Notts County. He could have stayed with Derby in League One, but has decided to earn less money to return to his boyhood club. It's a nice story.

I can see both Notts County and Wrexham smashing League Two tbh. Wonder what odds you can get for both getting back to back promotions.

Chris Korda's EP Not My Problem, I'll Be Dead is delightfully absurd. It's the horny dance soundtrack for the end of the world.

I'll give that a spin. Always looking for things a but more outside my usual wheelhouse. In return, I'll recommend 'Wait Til I Get Over' by Durand Jones. Mixture of Soul and Roots Rock, and a very easy listen.

£35m for Alexis MacAllister. By today’s market that is ridiculous bargain.

    Plus £20m in add-ons apparently.

We finally published our retained list. We've released Billy Sharp, Jack O'Connell, Enda Stevens and Kyron Gordon.

It's a shame about some of them, but it's time. Sharp is barely a Championship level player now, JOC knees don't look like ever healing up and Enda is sadly now surplus to requirements when we have so many people who can play LB. Gordon was a young, fringe squad player.

Rumours are Sharp might end up back at Doncaster. League Two should still be fine for him (he'd probs be fine in League One), plus he gets to continue his personal feud with Wrexham haha.

I suspect JOC retires. Enda should get a Championship spot.

  7. Looks like crowd control features will be returning (albeit not for as many characters as we had previously).

Mei, who already has the slow ability, is getting a buff to it where if she locks it on for long enough a super slow happens for 1.5 seconds.

The other one is Cassidy. He's not getting flashbang back, but the grenade is being re-worked. It's damage is getting nerfed but will do two things - 1. It will cause the opponent to slow and 2. It will block that player from using movement altering affects (e.g. Hanzo's dash, Ganji's dash, Moira's fade, Winston's leap, Tracer's blink, Reaper's wraith form etc) for a short time.

  8. Assuming there'll be future Seasons of DLC, who do we think will be added? I can see the Acclaimed, and the rest of House of Black and the JAS being added.

I could also see them doing a season of RoH based stuff with Joe etc.

  9. I will say, the individual DLC packs seem a little thin content wise at two wrestlers per pack. If that's the model going forward, then Season Passes would likely be much more appealing, especially for completionists.

  10. Decided to start a game where you take a bigger team that's fallen down the rankings a little and try and get them back where they belong.

First attempt was with 1860 Munich, who have fallen to Germany's 3rd tier. Just finished the first season, and won the league on goal difference. Drew my final game (which was the minimum needed) though we threw away a 2-0 lead AND they had a goal disallowed in the 95th minute for offside. Phew!

What formations are folks using these days? Mine's a sort of 3-1-3-1-2:

    ---------AF - AF

    -----------SS

    W-------------MCR----DW

    -------DMCL

    -----DC-----DC----DC

  11. For anyone that missed it, Microsoft are actually charging less than Sony for the Elite version (at least in the UK).

Base game: £49.99 on both consoles

Elite version: £62.99 on Xbox, £69.99 on Playstation.

I cashed in a few Microsoft reward points and got £5 off that to get the Xbox Elite version for £57.99 (seriously, Microsoft rewards is an underated service).

I started watching Star Trek: The Original Series. I've watched about 12 episodes (including the original pilot). I think I saw the JJ Abrams movies but I honestly don't remember anything about them.

TOS is fun. I like Shatner way more than I thought I might. I found the first few episodes repetitive but find they are getting better at creating some variation.

Shatner is better than he gets credit for, I think. TOS is a good show on the whole, though it's like the reverse of all other Trek's quality wise - it starts great and gets... less good. Almost all other Trek shows are the reverse.

Brighton's squad will be gutted and it's whether they can identify more gems to replace them. I think they'll struggle too with the Sunday/Thursday/Sunday schedule.

Brighton don't need to sell anyone though, hence why the can drive up the prices massively for their players. I think they'll only sell 2-3 names and that will rake them in well over £100m.

  14. I don't have strong opinions either way when it comes to Chelsea these days, but for the love of God please let Poch have full control over the squad and the ins and outs. If he gets that, and can get the squad together he wants, they'll be challenging for Top 6 again before long.

I think the Prem is getting to a very interesting point where there's enough quality sides now that there's gonna be semi-regularly some 'big boys' missing out on Europe each season.
