  1. Yeah, matchmaking is a bit shit now, especially if you have a party of people. It was like this for MW and MW2 it's first week or so, so hopefully they'll have it patches and awesome in less than a month.

I haven't had any problems with it? I don't know how big a party or what system you're using, but on PS3 with 2 people it's been going pretty well. Bit annoying that there's no microphone icon when you've got one on because I spent twenty minutes trying to sort it out when it turns out it already worked. :|

It's actually a lot better now than the first night I played. There were 6 of us trying to play wager match, and we had to resort to "if you get in an empty room invite the other 5 people." Then when we had 4 of us trying to play Team Deathmatch, it took us 20 minutes to find and get into a game, and had to wait another 20 minutes or so every time someone new wanted to party up.

Like I said though, a lot better now, a party of 6 of us were getting into games a lot faster without as many party drops.

EDIT: Yeah, and then you didn't bother to say hello SDM :crying:

  3. So her stance is..."I brought a $90.00 (AUS) game and now you need to buy a new computer for me to play said game on."

If I were living with someone who had more money than me, I would pull this kind of shit all the time.

On topic... I've played MW & MW2, but none of the other COD games. Does anyone think there will be any value in me picking up World at War before I got Black Ops? Wiki says there's at least one or two characters from WAW in Black Ops, so I just wondered if there might be some kind of vague semi-continuity going on.

From what I've read/heard, I don't think WaW would be something you NEED to get in order to understand what's going on. It's not like Modern Warfare where the story continues and there are a lot of tie-ins, as I'm sure the Black Ops are more of just cameos and perhaps vague references that don't affect the overall story. In short, pick it up if it's cheap(or renting it would be better if you just want the story), but I doubt it's going to have a big difference in terms of your understanding and enjoyment of Black Ops storyline.

  4. Woo! Finally got that damned Star Bottle Cap quest out of the way. Now to just install some weapon mods, do some energy weapons, and finish the NCR side of the main quest so I can start on my melee/explosive/pickpocket/Legion/evil playthrough for achievements.

EDIT: Well...fuck. My save just got corrupted, thankfully I was playing on an auto-save so it didn't corrupt the main file :/

  5. Been talking about it in the Xbox thread a lot, but regardless, going to be a killer game regardless of platform. I just hope that for once UPS and Amazon don't screw me over with a big release this year.

  6. There was the Gamestop pre-order bonus, and The Doors the very first week as an entire album. This past Tuesday it was The Doors again, just as individual tracks. This Tuesday, another greatest of is released for Bon Jovi, including the songs from 1, 2, and DLC released before. Which sucks if you already have them but wanna get the keys/pro-keys/harmony versions of them.

  7. Nothing to do with losing it's value, at least in the case with Metallica and Sound Garden. Metallica agreed to release DLC, Enter Sandman, and Battery before Guitar Hero agreed to GH:Metallica. That's why Enter Sandman wasn't exportable, and Battery isn't now.

  8. If you can pass a gun check, I believe the Gun Runners guy at the 188 outpost has some, along with the arms merchant near the top part. Gun Runners(near one of the entrances to freeside) has quite a few as well, and the Van Graffs at Silver Rush in Freeside have them for energy weapons. I know I've come across a lot more, so I'll add to this post or reply later when I recall them.

Ah, fallout wiki has a place of all the vendors:

There are currently 12 vendors who offer weapon mods in the Mojave Desert. Inventory of mods changes with stock rotation every 73 hours game time.

  9. Because the Kinect sensor's motorized tilt mechanism requires more power than can be supplied via the Xbox 360's USB ports, the Kinect sensor features a proprietary connector combining USB communication with additional power. Redesigned "Xbox 360 S" models include a special AUX port for accommodating the connector, while older models require a special power supply cable (included with the sensor) which splits the connection into separate USB and power connections; power is supplied from the mains by way of an AC adapter.

So, in short, there should be a special power supply cable that came with Kinect, that you'll plug the USB end into a USB port in your older 360, and the other chord should plug into an outlet. If you have the new dashboard update that came out Monday, then you should be good to go once you calibrate everything.
