  1. So I was playing Team Deathmatch, doing a contract for earning 6 SAM Turrent killstreaks. On Summit, I set one up, and as I spawn I started running. Next thing I know there's an explosion and it said mistakes were made. My suspicions proved true when I went to the game clip, and the SAM Turrent shot me while it was trying to shoot down a spy plane or something.

Pretty hilarious. So 3 games later, I'm in Nuketown, doing the challenge still, and set up another SAM turrent. I have just ran a little bit and AGAIN it tells me mistakes were made. If you want to check them out, click here and here.

  2. Yeah I saw you guys discussing about the server, and that it runs til February. I can definitely hold off on helping for it, but would like to once you guys have it all figured out (Y)

And Ellis, I may do that with Kinect, gotta see how my computer can handle it though.

  3. So yeah, bought the game. My most recent world is going great, finally started branch mining and picked up a good amount of diamond, plus a lot of iron/redstone. Still having trouble finding a lot of gold for some reason, I only have 7 or 8 ignots.

Also, would be willing to help financially with the EWB server by Tuesday/Wednesday of next week.

  4. Thanks for the cobblestone tip. Last night I got into 4 hours of a world, had two "homes" that included an underground lava bed and some redstone. Was going to use that for my iron door(since it requires electricity), but when I was exploring a hole came out of nowhere, and landed smack dab in the middle of some zombies and spiders. I lost my entire Iron armor(I WAS IRON-MAN DAMMIT!), though I found another cave that was promising. When I loaded it up however, it just spawned a new map on me and I started at night time. REALLY need a new computer. I'm enjoying my new world though, lots of clay. Even though I didn't have any coal or torch materials the first night(which lead to me just standing around shaking in my boots), I found a different home where there was a bit of Iron, and some pumpkins right outside!

Also, you can put wood in the fireplace to make charcoal I believe, which lasts longer than coal as a heating material.

  5. So after reading Sousa's diary(and listening to you chaps go on about this game for the last month or so), decided to give it a trial run. First few worlds I had a series of unfortunate accidents, but I'm settling into this world. Finally learned how to make basic stuff and was doing the whole "out in the world by day, in by night" sorta thing, but now I'm just mining into a mountain, making hallways with torches and doors in case I run into any baddies.

I started about...6:30 or 7, and now it's almost 11. Where has my life gone?

  6. The NFC West is becoming a haven for former head coaches. The Rams picked up McDaniels for their offensive coordinator, and the Seahawks picked up Cable as an assistant head coach and offensive line coach. Singletary left and is going to coach the linebackers in Minnesota.

  7. Honestly Zero, The Social Network is more than just a movie about Facebook. The whole Facebook side of it is more of a setting or a backdrop. Zuckerberg and his interactions with everyone, along with that fantastic score, are the highlights. Movie of the year? Debatable, but more than just a "Facebook movie."

  8. I'll try and not post anything that's been posted before, unless it elaborates on something that was said before.

85 spells overall, some are just variations on a spell(simple fireball, fire spell that is like a flamethrower, etc.) "Set two completely different spells in either hand, or put the same spell in both hands, letting you combine the spell to extraordinary effect."

Also not sure if it's been mentioned, but whatever skill you use(one-handed weapons, illusion magic), that levels up the more you use it, and contributes to your overall level. As opposed to Oblivion where you just pick 3 skills and those are the only thing that can level you up. Also raising a skill from 34 to 35 will level you up faster than raising a skill from 11 to 12.

Perks: Each level brings the choice of a perk, one of dozens of special powerups tied to the 18 skills. These perks may increase the damage of your dagger during stealth attacks, your mace ignoring enemy armor, etc.

There are 50 levels for you to get(as opposed to 25 in Oblivion/Fallout), but it's in the same amount of playtime, and you level up way faster in the beginning. "Even after level 50, players will be able to continue gaining new levels, but the process will be dramatically slow."

Melee battles feel heavier, have finishing moves. Bows take longer to draw back, but more powerful. Can't just backpedal like in Oblivion.

The menu system sounds cool too. The interface is like iTunes with the scrollable albums, and the screenshot that shows the skills, each one is visuall represented by a constellation.

Dragons sound awesome. "...signs that the dragons would be returning were laid out in the predictions. Shattering of the Staff of Chaos(Elder Scrolls Arena), appearance of Numidium(Daggerfall), volcanic Red Mountain(Morrowind), opening of the Oblivion Gates(Oblivion.)" "Dragons won't be some legendary concept left dangling before players until the end of the game. Dragons are real and regular threats in the game world. They fly into battle at unexpected times. They ravage towns. They wield awesome power. And you'll have to face them repeatedly in single combat."

Also each dragon you kill you'll earn abilities called dragon shouts from their souls. One sends foes hurling away from you, another slows down time. Another is spoken quietly as it allows you to go from one place to another instantly, and one is an actual dragon that comes to your aid in battle.

  9. I just got my copy in the mail of GameInformer, and there are quite a bit more screenshots that show enemies(including dragons!) and scenery(which still looks gorgeous). Once I properly read the article I'll see if there's any details(major or small) that haven't been mentioned yet.

  10. So I got undead nightmare for christmas and love it. I've saved all the towns pretty much but still have missions to complete, I love the 4 horses, I've used all of them besides Death, I loved War but sadly it walked into my line of fire during a zombie battle and was killed. Where do I find death?

So I just finished Undead Nightmare and must say that was disappointing. It felt way too short and the end was rather anticlimatic, and personaly I don't like the fact that Marston just up and dies and the game doesn't explain.

  11. Even though I'm a 360 "fanboy"(not really, I've owned all the consoles and enjoyed all of them), the Dualshock has always been one of my favorite controller designs. I do like the 360's controller for some games, but for me personally I always enjoyed action/adventure/sports/fighting games more on the Dualshock, especially Madden. Then again, almost any controller beats this beast:
