So that's two Birmingham City fans.............
I agree with Hearts for Scotland too. See if they can break the monopoly.

Why? He's a footballer and he's always injured - I could care less about him now, let's start looking to an England striker we can rely on.
We all knew Rooney was going to be ready and raring to go as soon as he could, as soon as he came on he just wanted the ball and chased everything down - quite frankly I couldn't see Owen doing the same if he was coming back from injury.
Anyone with any knowledge football would have known going into the tournament Rooney's fitness wasn't the issue - it was if Owen was going to last.
-
Seriously, asking someone else who to support goes against the whole damn idea of supporting a club. If you can't support your local club since you don't have one then watch some games and see who you like the look of. Eventually you're just start to like a certain team more and show more interest in them and wham, you support them well done.
-
He's not a scapegoat at all. No one's actually blaming him, they're just using it as an excuse to get rid of him cheaply. And fair play to them for it, I'm glad they did.
-
Perhaps i can see your point there but to be honest i'd just like to have seen a fully fit Owen and Rooney partnership full stop. Owen does have serious trouble with his injuries and if he can't get it sorted soon then you wonder how much longer in football the poor guy has. I just hate people criticising him for being injured, it's just not on at all and anybody who loves to watch or play the game really should know better.
-
But who are you going to bring in? I really don't think the manager is the problem and he hasn't been for quite a while or at least not the major problem. When your whole team has apparently had a little revolt you have to look further and it seems O'Leary is a scapegoat of sorts.
-
Neither should Walcott or Rooney and worst of all Crouch
Owen was probably the second most sound choice to go out of those who did.
-
Yes your right, Michael Owen is shit and frankly should be fined for being injured when really we know his faking it and can't be arsed to get up on before 3pm on a saturday afternoon.
Damn Michael Owen for costing England their World Cup dream dream too, damn that lazy bastard to hell!
EDIT: And to comment on the study . Wow, i love it when a "study" discovers something common sense knew a long time ago.
-
Isn't Squall and Rhinoa making out the last scene of the ending video though? Or am i getting things confused due to the fact i haven't played it in a while?
Regardless i'm sure Squall doesn't die.

Wow following yesterday's game that was a huge disappointment. Portugal for me played better overall but the inability to play the final ball and create a clear cut chance means they didn't deserve anything either in all honesty. I think France defended pretty well but they invited far too much pressure on to themselves and didn't seem to cope down the wing too well at all on the left. Italy/France could be a train wreck waiting to happen and Scolari is a twat, i'd be embarrassed if an England teamed dived that much, i can stand a little "simulation" but their just fucking ridiculous.
Did anyone else think Henry was fouled, almost regained his footing and then went down? No denying it was a foul but it almost look like he found his footing but then fell when he saw the ball go away. Of course i don't really care, at least the cheating bastards are out.
Oh and why in the hell does a team who needs a goal continue to play one up front, take their main striker off and player about forty winger's? Are they incapable of playing two up front. There's a reason They've score few goals this tournament and it's not because Scolari's a genius.

The fact it is Hargreaves is a mute point. Replace Hargreaves with whoever the hell you want, the point is either Gerrard or Lampard need to be dropped because they have consistantly proved they can't play together, in my view it should be Lampard who is dropped.
Also, what does a player have to do to be given another chance in an England shirt for you then? How could you justify dropping Hargreaves after his preformance against Portugal?
-
Man Mountain Number 4 Breca at the back. Or Flairly number 25 Eca Pau with my board name.........
-
I wanted to play Hargreaves out of position because he proved he can play that tenacious role and hold in order to let Gerrard go forward.
And the idea of either being tired is perhaps fruitless as stated. As i think both are both around the same area in that respect.
-
Lampard is allowed to play more in his position for England then Gerrard is. When Gerrard is allowed to get forward he does offer a threat. This is backed up be the fact Lampard had the most shots in the World Cup so far and Gerrard is England's top goal scorer. Gerrard is a better defender and at least equal to Lampard going forward and therefore in my eyes the better player. Gerrard can also switch to the left if needed. I believe Lampard should be dropped and Gerrard and Hargreaves should be played central. Plus Gerrard's season started earlier with the European Cup Qualifiers remember so that should help negate that argument too.
-
If Owen plays again i imagine he would be a strong candidate for the armband too since his is vice captain at the moment, although i would prefer to see it go elsewhere. Though i guess his injury means he may miss the boat so to speak.
-
I remember watching i think it was Luke Young from Charlton and he seemed solid enough. Also i hope Neville has a one more big tournament in him.
-
Your captain can be in midfield and you'll still need someone to lead the defensive line. Similarly you still need some to lead the attack and midfield if the captain is in defence. I don't think the position you play should really be an issue in choosing the captain.
-
Leonardo for some odd reason i'm liking and i've always been a fan of Alan Hansen. Generally i prefer the BBC coverage anyway. Ian Wright is a good balance to the analysis i think.
-
I'm don't think Ferdinand would have any trouble getting a performance for his players if he was captain and i seen Terry give his own fair share of below performances too particularly at this World Cup. And i think Ferdinand has cut of most of the mistake he use to make from when he was younger.
-
I still think Ferdinand should be considered before Terry. He more experienced in the shirt and has in general been a very solid defender for England. He also shows the passion and shouting that a captain needs. Don't let his more casual play fool you.
-
I've been impressed with Germany and frankly if anyone deserves to win it they do.
-
While i believe Terry is the right type of player to be captain it seems to me he is a little inexperienced for the job. Perhaps Ferdinand should be considered before him in my eyes.
Also isn't it going to be a little weird for Beckham to go from giving the orders to taking them. In a way it's a kind of demotion and in some ways is a insult that he would refuse to be captain anymore. Perhaps there's some sort of politics behind this?
-
Without reading though, my general thoughts on yesterdays game as somewhat mixed.
I think first off that Hargreaves was our best player and proved he more than deserves to wear the Three Lions. He was running for start to end and while excellent defensively, he also offered a good threat going forward to and kept the ball well. The Bayern Munich presidents appears to be right, the fans that booed Hargreaves were ignorant. Crouch also worked so hard when he came on and Ferdinand was an absolute rock at the back and it seems he only plays his best in the big games. Gerrard and Lampard once again proved they either can't play together or just can't perform on the world stage, i hope it's the former.
Rooney was an idiot, while it seems he was sent off for the shitty push and the stamp i think was accidental Rooney must know that he has to keep his temper in these situation, whichever way you want to paint it Rooney's inability to control his temper has cost us dear. I just hope he learns from this.
I could say i think the referee was bollocks and i want to see Ronaldo beaten the shit out of but all the angers but we can't control those elements. Sadly we've be cheated again in my eyes but we Rooney didn't help out course. But with Eriksson out and McLaren in lets lick our wounds and build for Euro 2008!
