  1. Okay, mine basically has no real direction to it, other than it including some of my favourite musicians.

    Vocals: Thom Yorke (Radiohead)

Guitars: John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Ian D'Sa (Billy Talent)

    Bass: Hunter (AFI)

Piano: Andrew McMahon (Something Corporate, Jack's Mannequin)

    Drums: Dave Grohl

  2. 48 Cat Power

    36 Mike Patton

    34 Lupe Fiasco

26 Keith Richards, The Rolling Stones

    25 Jay-Z

18 Carl Barat, Dirty Pretty Things

    12 Liam Gallagher, Oasis

11 Paul Simonon, 'The Good, The Bad & The Queen'

They're the guys I'd consider to be cool on that list.

Thom Yorke!? Really? He'll never ever be cool. Ever.

  3. A : Alice in Chains - "Nutshell

    B : Billy Talent - "Try Honesty"

    C : City and Colour - "Sometimes (I Wish)"

    D : Danzig - "Mother"

    E : Eve 6 - "Inside Out"

F : Fall Out Boy - "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me"

    G : Goo Goo Dolls - "Iris"

    H : Hollies, The - "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother"

I : I Mother Earth - "Summertime in the Void"

    J : Jeff Buckley - "Hallelujah"

    K : K-OS - "Man I Used to Be"

    L : Lostprophets - "Cry Me a River"

M : Matthew Good Band - "Strange Days"

N : Neverending White Lights feat. Dallas Green - "The Grace" (But Neil Young's "Keep On Rockin' in the Free World" comes at a close second)

    O : Oasis - "Wonderwall"

    P : Pink Floyd - "Money"

Q : Queen feat. David Bowie - "Under Pressure"

    R : Radiohead - "Fake Plastic Trees"

    S : Stone Temple Pilots - "Plush"

    T : The Temptations - "My Girl"

    U : U2 - "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own"

V : Verve Pipe, The - "The Freshmen"

W : Weakerthans, The - "Left and Leaving"

    X : N/A

    Y : Yellowcard - "Ocean Avenue"

    Z : ZZ Top - "Legs"

Kind of a "Right now" rather than an "all-time" set.

  4. I don't get the "he's too young" comments. As already shown by the Heath Ledger casting, they're clearly going for a younger version of these characters. Phillippe and Ledger are both great actors, give it a chance.

Precisely what I was thinking...this was seemingly early on in Batman's "career", so it's feasible that the villains are younger too...and even though Two Face and Batman should be roughly the same age, this isn't totally cannon with the comics either.

EDIT: And I'm with Scummy. I can do without the Penguin. In my mind, Two Face and The Joker are THE Batman villains.

    And maybe Bane.

    <_<

  5. Okay. I was pretty much owned there.

Different line of thought: Certainly, I'm as sick of the anti-Bush anthems as the next guy (and I'm left wing)...but even amongst the crap, there's good stuff...certainly, we can all agree on being sick of "Holiday" but "When The President Talks to God" by Bright Eyes is very enjoyable.

  6. uh, not necessarily, TOMK. I don't know why punk and the left-wing are associated so much, I'm guessing because all of the hip punk bands now are left-wingers. Punk's just about anger and expressing yourself. There's not supposed to be any one ideal associated with it.

IIRC Johnny Rotten himself was a conservative, and I know Michale Graves is..

  7. Cinder. God knows why, but NHL '04 started the rot for me with "Soul Creation". Further, the sheer lack of White Stripes love is sad to me, and I have no shame in admitting I will happily fight anyone who flames Meg White and/or her drumming. her.

I've seen White Stripes music bandied about a few times, and I'm with you concerning Meg White. She might not be the most attractive woman in the world, but moderately attractive + drummer = yes, please.

And Cinder rawks the bawls. The fact they're still going well ("House Full Of No Trust" comes out on August 8th) with a tour opening for Dark New Day shows that they'll be around a bit (Y)

  8. I tend to like those bands that get so much hype and so much love that people start to hate them...I'm talking about stuff like My Chemical Romance, The All American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, Green Day...etc.

I'm with the James Blunt love, however he's huge in my parts, so...it's not so odd.

Add me to the list of 311, Incubus, Head Automatica, Glassjaw, and Kelly Clarkson fans (although I am getting so absolutely tired of Clarkson's music right now. WAY too much airplay.)

Haven't seen much talk of him here, but I'm starting to like James Blunt's work. "High" is my particular favorite of the moment, and I agree with the sentiment that he could be a new Elton John.

Bands I'd like to throw on the heap:

Abandoned Pools, Apex Theory, 40 Below Summer, American Head Charge, Apartment 26, BT, Chimaira, Clutch, Crossbreed, Days Of The New, Dub Pistols, Earshot, Econoline Crush, Flaw, God Lives Underwater, Gravity Kills, Headstrong, Jem, Moshic, Oleander, Otep, Pelican, Ra, The Bags (REEEEJOICE~!), and Unwritten Law.
