  1. So, can you actually order the game from play.com now? Or is it just up there for viewing?

I think anything that's even shown on play.com is available to "buy". It'll sit in the "Coming Soon" status in your Orders Info until it's actually available - but if the price changes in any way before then you'll automatically be charged whichever one's lower. :D

Wait. So, if I pre-order it now, that's the max i'll have to pay for it?

  2. Ok, is it possible to have proper opponents in the game? By proper I mean, that they hire real actors for their films.... because in the oscars (mogies) at the end of the year in my game they're always fake actors/directors/etc. working for the other companies.

  3. They're not new but I'd really recommend getting them since you can pick them up cheap.

    Deus Ex

    Grim Fandango

    As for newer games

    Global Power

Medievil: Total War (Though, I think Rome: Total War is coming out soon.)

    Far Cry

    Battlefield 1942

  4. Ok, wasn't sure whether to put this in the sports bar or not. If its in the wrong place i apologise.

Anyhoo, I need some kind American/Canadian/All-knowing hockey guru to explain some of the rules surrounding hockey. Just the more complicated ones, not during games but stuff like drafts and that. Being english we never get that stuff explained over here.

so yeh, if someone can explain the whole draft system and explain waivers to me it'd be greatly appreciated.

EDIT ~ Also, to avoid starting a new topic, i'm looking to buy Battle Royale the book, but I'm unsure what it looks like (And I can't find proper info on them on Amazon) Basically I wanna make sure i'm buying the original novel and not the manga. So if someone could show me what the novel looks like or something then that would really help

  5. Could someone kindly point me in the direction of a decent real world update for the game? I have one but I don't really like it.

Also, is it possible to release films straight to video in the game? If so, how?

  6. Yup, so basically this is the same as the top 50 video games and top 50 actors, you guys vote for the greatest Disney characters of all time and i'll count up the votes to make the list. I'll start us off with a few.

    Genie (Aladdin)

    Jack Skellington (Nightmare Before Christmas)

    Prince John (Robin Hood)

    Hades (Hercules)

    Tigger (Winnie The Pooh)

Oh, could you also put the name of the film next to your votes so it makes it easier for me. Thanks.

  7. dunno how to react to that. good signing obviously, but he's only gonna sit on the bench when Ruud comes back.... still, 4 good strikers means we can rest people like Smith and Ruud without risking too much. Like we did in the treble season with Yorke, Cole, Solskjaer and Sheringham.

  8. What he said. The only problem with the injury time/stoppage time thing is that it generally never adds up. For example, I think it might've been the Arsenal/Middlesbrough game on Sunday, at the end of the game (might've been half time), 1 minute of stoppage time was added on. However, during that half, there was at least 3-5 minutes of stoppages. I think that the clocks should stop when the ball goes out of play or if the game stops, that way they can at least have the full full 45 minutes per half properly.

That would be an awful idea. The whole reason the clock doesn't stop is so the game can flow (with regards to throw ins and goal kicks) at a decent pace without the ref having to tell the players when to restart every single time.

  10. What a surprise... Arsenal have the easiest draw of the lot. Sure ours isn't all that hard but when do Arsenal ever get stuck with a tough draw?

    On a sidenote... buh-bye Celtic!

EDIT ~ And this is exactly why we're gonna draw Leeds in the FA Cup. Larsson goes to Barca, they draw Celtic. Mourinho goes to Chelsea, they draw Porto. It ALWAYS happens!

  11. We definately do not need Rooney. I dont particularly want him either. I mean Smith is awesome at the moment and he can't be left out and you don't leave out Van Nistelrooy so Rooney will spend his time on the bench keeping Saha out who'll then want to leave. So no, we'll pass on that one.

  12. Where's your proof that she dropped out for a medal? At least back up your arguements. Once she arrived back at the track part she was being checked over my the medicle guys, so that obviously say's that something was partly wrong. Did you never know she had injuries earlier this year? Did you never know she went into the race not 100%? Maybe she wasn't terribly injured, but she clearly had something wrong and that's why once she arrived back she was being checked over, and that's not me lieing because Sue Barker was the one who told me on BBC1 mate

I don't have proof, it's impossible to get that kind of proof unless she openly admits it. But doesn't it seem suspicious to you that she dropped out right after the 4th place woman passed her and then proceeded to cry like she had just lost out on a medal...

oh... and she may have been checked over but according to what was on the news just now.. "they found no signs of injury"

The only thing I'm tired of is the '(insert name) deserved the Gold Medal'. If you didn't win it, you don't deserve it, its that easy. There is no 'honorary Gold Medalist', there is only the gold medalist.

Go out there and win. If you can't, for whatever reason, then you don't deserve shit.

    Correct.

  13. She gave it her all, she was cleary injured, what more can you ask for? You go out there and try and run the marathon, see how you feel yeah? She was lacking big time when she was in third and when she slipped into forth she knew she couldn't go on, her body simply wouldn't let her. Would you honestly have wanted her to force herself to the finish line and end up injuring herself even more than what she already had from the looks of it? I certainly wouldn't. Wow she dropped out, big deal. She did what she could and couldn't finish, she still tried though. She certainly has my respect for everything she's done.

Wondered how long it'd take for the "you go and do it" argument to come out. Newsflash, I'm not a professional athlete. I couldn't run the marathan. She is. She can. And she was injured yeah? Where'd you get that from? Show me proof that she was injured and i'll take back everything in my other post. The only excuse which has been given is that she was exhausted, fair enough... but so was everyone else. She didn't have the bottle to carry on knowing she wouldn't get a medal and while I respect everything she's done.... I don't respect what she did today.

I wouldn't have a problem if she dropped out because of injury, but I do have a problem with her dropping out just because she wasn't gonna get a medal. That's like all the teams in the premiership bar the big 3 saying "well, we aint gonna win the league this year... may as well not bother...it's too tiring to compete and not win anything"

  14. Wow. Paula Radcliffe showed what the olympics is all about huh? I mean... you're not gonna win a medal so you quit. That's spirit for ya. Never mind the fact that there's a ton of people who'd kill to be in the Olympics... hell even those that were there and at the back finished. Most of them turned up, knowing they wouldn't get a medal, but they still competed in the spirit of the games. It's ridiculous that such a brilliant athlete couldn't finish the race and accept that on the day she couldn't quite do it. There's no shame in that, as long as you give it your all... hell even if she had pretty much walked to the end it would've been acceptable.

And all the stuff about the heat is rubbish, it's the same for all the other athletes and they managed to cope with it. And you can't say that the other atheltes are used to it either. She knew the olympics would be in athens, where it's hot, so she should be training to acclimatise to those conditions. And it's not like she's never run in that kind of whether. The Japanese girl that won it trained in Switzerland! Completely different whether and she managed to win the race... so that kind of negates the heat argument in my opinion.

No matter how many people comment about all of Paula's hard work, the bottom line is that all the other athletes put in the same amount of work and it's pretty disgraceful for somebody to drop out just because they aren't going to win a medal... it's also very disrespectful to the other athletes who were probably looking forward to racing against her.

It's still a shame GB have such shit runners in 100m, I really miss the days of Linford. Also I never follow stuff leading to the event, why wasn't Dwane Chambers here? I always thought he was about our best runner overall and usually gave Greene a run for his money.

Chambers tested positvely for drugs meaning that, due to British Olympic laws, he'll never compete in the Olympics again. However, I think he got a two year ban or something like that.

  15. Djemba Djemba get him out the squad let alone first team.

Haha... were you watching the same game? Djemba was by far and away the best out of our midfielders today. Miller was poor, giggs was awful and the less said about O'Shea the better. I think Djemba had a decent game today and on Wednesday as well as being one of the better players in pre-season. We didn't deserve to lose today but that's the way it goes, i'm sure in a few weeks we'll win when we don't deserve to. The performance today has left me feeling pretty confident anyway.

Shame we've gotta wait till next week for the Norwich match because of another joke of an England game.
