  1. Like I said in the XBox Mega Thread, the demo was really fun. This won't be the best or one of the best Star Wars games like some were hyping it up to be, but it's still good and a must play for any Star Wars fan.

I liked bending the steel support beams into the TIE Fighter's flight path.

  2. I only want 3 games as of right now, those being Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Fallout 3 and Tom Clancy's EndWar. I believe they all come out next month, too.

ST:FU comes out September 16th, Fallout 3 comes out October 28th, and EndWar has no official release date but it's rumored to come out in either October or November.

  3. THAT IS TOO FAR AWAY

And on top of that, it's coming a week after Fable II and a week before Gears 2. This Fall is a bigger clusterfuck then last years. The 9 games I listed in the Games Hit List thread are coming out between October 14th and November 11th.

  4. Major Launch Planned for the Winner of E3 2008’s “Best of Show”

August 20, 2008 (Rockville, MD) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax Media company, announced today that its highly anticipated title, Fallout® 3, will be available on store shelves and online in North America on October 28, 2008 and in Europe on October 31, 2008. Developed at Bethesda Game Studios – creators of the 2006 Game of the Year, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion® – Fallout 3 is slated for release on the Xbox 360®video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, and Games for Windows.

“We are very excited to let gamers get their hands on Fallout 3, the latest chapter in this beloved and highly acclaimed franchise,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. “To meet the huge demand for this title by our fans worldwide, we are planning one of the biggest launches of any game released this year.”

Fallout 3 features one of the most realized game worlds ever created. Set more than 200 years following a nuclear war, you can create any kind of character you want and explore the open wastes of Washington, D.C. however you choose. Every minute is a fight for survival as you encounter Super Mutants, Ghouls, Raiders, and other dangers of the Wasteland.

Hailed as one of the most anticipated games for 2008, Fallout 3 has already won numerous awards including Best of Show from the official Game Critics Awards at E3 2008, a selection voted on by an independent group of journalists from 36 leading North American media outlets that cover the videogame industry.

Fallout® 3 has not yet been rated by the ESRB. For more information on Fallout 3, visit http://fallout.bethsoft.com.

  5. Is there any decent shooters coming out soon? Don't tell me Gears of War, because that shit is going to suck. I've been playing COD4 for so long that I'm hearing the sound effects in my dreams now.

Nothing until the fall. Brothers in Arms comes out at the end of September, Far Cry 2 comes out at the end of October, and the next Call of Duty comes out in November.

  6. Wait, wait, wait... what?

If I pre-order the new Banjo game I can play the motherfucking original on my 360!? I am IN.

It's like the Fable 2 Pup Games. The original Banjo-Kazooie will be released on the Marketplace this fall, probably for 800 points, but if you pre-order, you'll get a download card from wherever you pre-ordered with a code to download the game for free.

  7. If you preorder Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, you'll be able to download the original N64 game for free. The game's release date is November 14 and will be $40. It looks like Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise will be $40 also.

I have no fucking clue what went wrong.

  8. If it's an all-new game built from the ground up, I don't see the problem with $15.

Exactly. Both Braid and Castle Crashers are brand new games that have been in development for more than a few years. The fact is, if you want better quality games on XBLA, they're going to cost more.

  9. The game's hardly a Mario/Donkey Kong clone. It's a puzzle game first, platformer second. Only a few of the puzzle pieces require platforming skills, the rest require you to think outside the box.

  10. An exploit has already been found in the Fortune's Tower game. Bet the lowest amount possible, then hit A to deal, then hit LB afterward to raise your bet to the max. By doing so, the game acts like you're betting the max, thus you reap the rewards, and if you lose, you only lose your minimum bet.

  13. I never played the first Fable because I didn't get into RPGs until two years ago, but now that I love them, I want Fable 2 bad. As far as the hype concerns, Molyneux's hype has only been directed towards things that he could show in game, so I'm not too worried.

  14. Far Cry 2

    Saint's Row 2

    Fallout 3

    Fable 2

    Dead Space

    Little Big Planet

    Left 4 Dead

    Gears 2

    Resistance 2

Fable 2. Hopefully it doesn't get fucking delayed anymore.

The chances for a delay are slim to none now. The game was content complete at E3, the Pup Games are launching next week, and Lionhead announced the release date, October 21, today.

  15. According to the official Japanese Xbox 360 blog, Braid (August 6) lists a purchase price of 1200MS Points ($15), while the highly anticipated Castle Crashes clocks in at a hefty 1800MS Points ($22.50) -- making it the most costly XBLA title to date.

    lololololol, no.

As expected, those prices are wrong.

Price points for Castle Crashers and Braid as listed by Microsoft Japan are incorrect for both domestic and international markets, a Microsoft representative has informed Shacknews.

The company further noted that it will officially announce price points for those titles on the Monday preceding Braid and Castle Crashers' respective release dates, or August 4 and 25.

  16. Ghostbusters is one of the few games I care about. It sounds like its inclusion in the press release was a mistake, from that second quote.

It was no mistake, Activision confirmed that Ghostbusters has been dropped, for right now. It's future is a little uncertain, but I can almost guarantee you that the game will be released, maybe not this year, maybe not by Activision, but it will be released. It'd be too costly to cancel it now.
