The Mauler/Spiker combo seems to kill faster then any other dual wieldable guns. In fact, Mauler + anything else except the pistol is going to kill people fast, and this is because the Mauler is somewhat over powered. It may not be as strong as a shotgun, but when fired up close, it takes a good chunk of your shield away.

God damn quitters. I just had one of the worst One Flag CTF on Narrows. It was 5 vs. 5 and almost immediately, two of my teammates quit and another one does nothing, just stands in a corner. Even with the disadvantage, me and this other guy manage to almost keep the score tied at 1 apiece, but then the other team gangs up on us and scores their second point in overtime. On the last round, it gets even better, because my last teammate decides to throw in the towel and does nothing. So it’s me vs. 4 other players. I die a lot trying to capture the flag, and in the closing seconds, I came so close in capturing it, only to be raped by two people, while my other team mates watch and do nothing! By the way, the Mauler + Spiker combo works great. Just shoot them with the Mauler, then unload with the Spiker, and finish them off with one more shot from the Mauler. People go down quickly with this combo.

There’s lag between what you do in Halo 3 and what shows up on Bungie.net. For instance, if you changed your armor or you just played a Big Team Battle, it could take minutes, hours, or even days for it to show up on Bungie.net.

Damn, you guys were destroyed! Don’t worry, I’ve had a few territory games that were almost as bad. Of course, we were out numbered 4 vs. 6 and 3 vs. 5.

I’ve been skull hunting for the past few days. I have 6 right now, should be up to 8 soon. I’ll add some of you to my friends list, and if we do get enough players for this weekend, we should play the Pirate Shark infection gametype on Sandtrap. Survivors have to stay on the Elephant (if they venture off, their shields are wiped out) and have a magnum and a sword, while Infected players try to over run the Elephant and come equipped with shotguns. Just go do Bungie.net or Bungie Favorites from the game and download the gametype as well as the Seven Seas Sandtrap forged map. EDIT: For those who want to make forged maps, there are blank canvases of every map on Bungie.net so you don’t have to worry about deleting everything.

You can do manuals and lip tricks, but no handstands.

The reason this game is getting all the hype is because instead of punching in a button combo to do a grind, for example, you have to actually be aware of your approach, the position of your board, and your speed to pull it off. In Tony Hawk, doing a flip trick into a grind into a manual doesn’t feel rewarding because it’s too easy, whereas in skate, doing that same combo feels rewarding because you actually did the combo instead of hitting the right button combinations.

The new Bungie Podcast is out and it’s about FORGE~! Some interesting notes: - Pretty much every tool used by Bungie’s multiplayer department can be used in Forge. You can tweak spawn times, ammo capacity, and even create your own power ups. - You won’t have access to everything on every map. Like, for instance, you can’t spawn/place a Scorpion on Guardian or Narrows. - Forge Example - Rocket Race: Escort on Sandtrap. Spawn points are paired up two apiece and they’re located near a mongoose and a rocket launcher. Point of the game is to escort the VIP to various points on the map, while the other team tries to stop you. -Forge Example - Infection on High Ground: Block all the entrances to the base with destructible items, spawn the zombies on the beach with some active camo. Spawn the survivors in the base and fill it with a lot of guns and turrets. Turn off the radar. - Match making: If a map has an imperfection, like the broken sniper rifle in Colossus that completely ruins the game, Bungie could go in and fix the map. They can also place a custom forge map made by a random person into match making. - Scorpions, fire weapons, and teleports won’t be in match making initially, but if demand for them rises or someone makes a great forge variant, it could be placed into match making. On that note, the Hornet will NEVER be in match making because it’s really powerful and unbalanced. You can add it in Forge though.

Right now BioShock is poised to be not only Game of the Year, but one of the best games ever. It’s received perfect scores from 9 reviews out of 13 total. Every review states that it’s a classic, must play game with deep game play, excellent story, perfect atmosphere, great characters, basically everything that a true classic game needs, BioShock achieves. Although Halo 3, Mass Effect, and SMG will undoubtedly be great games, at this rate, I see nothing touching BioShock this year.

Streetdated games are shipped about a week in advance, while every other game ships on its shipdate. BioShock is streetdated for 8/21, so it’s shipping now. Stranglehold, for example, has a shipdate of 8/27, so that’s when it ships. Once a store receives Stranglehold, they can sell it. Once stores receive BioShock, they can’t sell it until 8/21.

Well, it was bound to happen… BioShock’s streetdate has been broken by various Toys R Us. So those who don’t want to be spoiled should avoid most gaming message boards.

If you hit a security bot/camera/turret with electro bolt, then it should’ve been disabled for a short period of time. During this time, you could walk over to the disabled equipment and hit X to either start the hacking game or pay $10 to hack automatically. With the equipment hacked, they fight for you.
