Only Newcastle and Middlesborough from England, aren't there usually 3 english teams?

Millwall were knocked out. English teams can be beaten you know.

I don't classify Millwall to be European let alone English.

I didn't realised they'd even played yet to be honest, I'm a bit behind on the football front at the moment.

Yup. Each team plays the others once and the top three go through. These 24, plus 8 Champions League losers go into the last 32, then it continues as normal. No idea why, but I like leagues so I'm happy. Plus I can pretend Newcastle are in the CL again. Woo!
