Boozer to Utah?

Iv been hearing that Dallas may have just decided to go ahead and trade away Michael Finley, most likely to the 76ers. 76ers would give up Glenn Robinson, only catch is Dallas would be asking for William Green also, someone who the 76ers would like to keep.

That sounds similar to the Minnesota deal, only replace Spree with Finley.

It sounds more and more like the Boozer deal is going to happen. Kind of funny, as here is a bit from Stein's recent ESPN column:

You will hear plenty this week about Michael Redd, Gary Payton, Lamar Odom, Carlos Boozer and even Peja Stojakovic changing teams. Just don't expect any of them to actually move. It's been a busy-enough trade market as it is, and in most cases the employers of the names above (especially Milwaukee and Sacramento with Redd and Peja) don't plan to deal away the asset in question.

I'm really loving the fact that we made the trade for Carlos Arroyo. He's added a great dimension off the Pistons bench, with great passing and a knack for getting to the free throw line. Carlos is a perfect fit in Detroit because Larry Brown has been adamant about wanting a pass first PG. The Pistons are continuing to roll, and may be the hottest team in the league at this current time. I'm excited for the playoffs to begin because I have a good feeling this team can get to the finals again.

T-Mac did the same thing (not trying for Orlando), where's the heat for him?

Although I must admit, his Rockets are, the hottest team in the league right now. They've blown out some top teams, and a 8 game win streak is hard to push aside, although the Pistons are looking good.Last I checked, Rockets held a slim lead over the Sonics.

Bulls are leading the Heat?!Damn, Shaq and Wade musn't have recovered from the weekend.

The NBA's trading deadline is Thursday at 3 p.m. ET. Here's the latest talk around the league as of 5 a.m. ET on Wednesday.

3080.jpg Allen

The Rumor: Sonics guard Ray Allen to be shipped out of Seattle.

The Reason: Talks on a contract extension have stalled. Allen's agent is seeking a near-maximum deal of $90 million over five years, while the Sonics are offering a reported $68 million over five years.

The Latest: Allen told the Seattle Times that "there's a great possibility of me being moved" and that Wednesday night's game in New Orleans could be his last with Seattle.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3012.jpg Thomas

The Rumor: Knicks forward Kurt Thomas to a championship contender.

The Reason: According to the New York Post, Knicks president Isiah Thomas is desperate to make his team younger by the trading deadline. Problem is, Isiah's only commodity might be the 32-year-old veteran.

The Latest: Kurt Thomas told the Post that he "won't be disappointed" if he is indeed dealt, especially to a title contender like San Antonio. The newspaper also reported Wednesday that Isiah Thomas is not allowed to trade the Knicks' first-round pick.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2627.jpg Marshall

The Rumor: Raptors forward Donyell Marshall to Indiana, Miami or San Antonio.

The Reason: The Pacers are the latest to join the sweepstakes for Marshall, who has been targeted as the next Raptor to go since Toronto dealt Vince Carter and shifted its focus to building around Chris Bosh. Marshall's expiring contract, which pays him $5.3 million this season, is as appealing as his three-point shooting and rebounding skills.

The Latest: The Indianapolis Star reported Wednesday that Pacers president Larry Bird had "serious conversations" about Marshall, including one deal that would send Scot Pollard to Toronto. Marshall told the Toronto Sun that his agent is trying to get the Raptors to ship him and Milt Palacio to Indiana for Austin Croshere, Anthony Johnson and James Jones. Raptors general manager Rob Babcock told the Toronto Star that the chances of making any deal are "more like 35-65" and wouldn't trade Marshall unless "you're going to get a player who is good for your future." According to the Miami Herald, the Heat are interested in Marshall but would have to include Michael Doleac, one of Miami's key reserves. The Spurs are looking to get rid of Malik Rose and the four years left on his contract.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3326.jpg Davis

The Rumor: Hornets guard Baron Davis to Toronto or Atlanta.

The Reason: Last week, Hornets coach Byron Scott criticized Davis for wanting to extend the rehabilitation of his injured ankle in his hometown of Los Angeles. Davis has played in just 17 of New Orleans' 53 games, but the former All-Star's attitude began to sour last summer when his agent hinted that Davis – put off by the team's lack of offseason activity – might want to play for another team.

The Latest: According to the New York Post, the Raptors have offered guard Rafer Alston and forwards Lamond Murray and Donyell Marshall, and the Hawks have also showed interest in Davis. The Times-Picayune reported Tuesday that Hornets general manager Allan Bristow met with team owner George Shinn but they weren't considering moving Davis before the trade deadline.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3442.jpg Redd

The Rumor: Bucks guard Michael Redd to the Warriors, Blazers, Timberwolves, Cavaliers or Grizzlies.

The Reason: Redd has let it be known that he'd like to be LeBron James' sidekick when he becomes an unrestricted free agent in July. The Bucks hope to sign Redd to a long-term contract but face the risk of losing him for nothing.

The Latest: The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel suggested on Monday the following scenarios involving Redd and forward Keith Van Horn, whose contract of one year remaining at $15.7 million makes him attractive – to Portland for Shareef Abdur-Rahim, another player and a draft pick, or to Golden State for Dale Davis, Mike Dunleavy Jr. and picks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3327.jpg Odom

The Rumor: Lakers forward Lamar Odom for Kings forward Peja Stojakovic and Kings guard Bobby Jackson.

The Reason: Odom needs the ball in his hands to be effective but that honor belongs to Kobe Bryant. Stojakovic requested a trade in the offseason after Chris Webber criticized unnamed Kings players for lacking toughness.

The Latest: Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak told the Los Angeles Times that Odom had not been offered to any team. However, the Sacramento Bee reported Monday that a Stojakovic deal was discussed among Kings officials but turned down by president Geoff Petrie and co-owners Joe and Gavin Maloof.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1272.jpg Webber

The Rumor: Kings forward Chris Webber to the Knicks.

The Reason: Knicks president Isiah Thomas is due to make another shakeup with the disappointing Knicks, who begin the second half at 21-32 but are only five games out of the East's final playoff spot.

The Latest: Webber's contract, which includes three years at over $62 million, will scare away just about every team – well, every team but the Knicks, who, according to the Chicago Tribune, inquired about Webber. The Sacramento Bee reported Monday that there is "strong sentiment within the Kings organization" to trade Webber, not Stojakovic.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3632.jpg Boozer

The Rumor: Jazz forward Carlos Boozer for Lakers forward Lamar Odom or Lakers forward Caron Butler.

The Reason: Larry Miller recently criticized Boozer's inconsistent play, prompting a face-to-face meeting between the Jazz owner and Utah's prized free-agent signing.

The Latest: Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor told the Deseret Morning News that a potential swap with the Lakers is "absolutely ludicrous."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

259.jpg Payton

The Rumor: Celtics point guard Gary Payton to a playoff contender.

The Reason: Payton, who was never in Celtics director of basketball operations Danny Ainge's long-term plans, has asked to be traded.

The Latest: The Boston Herald reiterated Tuesday that there hasn't been much interest in the 36-year-old Payton, who would prefer to play on the West Coast where his family still lives. The Celtics are seeking a top prospect or a first-round pick. One potential scenario involving Indiana and Seattle would send Payton to the Pacers and bring Sonics rookie center Robert Swift (an Ainge favorite) to Boston.

What on earth could the Knicks possibly have that the Kings would want? Jamal Chucker?

The Toronto and Atlanta deals make no sense. Two young teams looking to rebuild, and in doing so take on a large salaried injury prone point guard?

If someone gives up a young prospect or a 1st rounder for Payton they should be fired immediately and given a 12 hour long swirlie from the teams fans.

Shaq isn't done for the season:

INDIANAPOLIS – Shaquille O'Neal won't play before his injured knee is examined by doctors in Miami on Thursday.

"He's taking an MRI tomorrow," Heat coach Stan Van Gundy said before the game Wednesday night at the Pacers.

Van Gundy said the team trainer doesn't think O'Neal's injury is serious.

id expect Davis to stay in New Orleans rather than go to the Warriors, even though he could push it, and be in the back court with J-Rich, also with Dunleavy Jr. at the SF, but pretty much nothing else, unless Pietrus gets better quick.

I still expect Antoine to be dealt out of Atlanta, probably for a piece of shit player that wont help us (ala, Big Dog). 'Toine hasnt been bitching the whole year tho, he's been pretty content around here, but i know he doesnt want to stick around for this re-building process.

Robinson headed to Hornets? King won't say

February 23

Philadelphia Daily News (registration required): "Are the 76ers considering a trade that would send Glenn Robinson to New Orleans for Jamal Mashburn and Rodney Rogers?"
