Benin's under-20 national squad goalkeeper, Samiou Yessoufou, died today after being beaten on Sunday by yet unidentified fans. The game took place Sunday night on the country's capital Cotonou.

A day after Benin's under-20 national team being beaten 3-0 by Nigeria for the first game of the category's african championship, Yessoufou was beaten in a bar in Cotonou.

According to the police, the keeper was held responsible for the defeat against Nigeria by the individuals who beat him to death.
