6. Andrei Arlovski, Toshiaki Kawada & Katsuyori Shibata defeated Kensuke Sasaki, Hiroshi Hase & Nobuhiko Takada when Arlovski used the Russian Neck Drop on Hase. (15:05)

This event kicked off with a huge junior bout that was fast paced and exciting action from the start. Veteran Ishinriki had difficulty keeping up with the speed if the young opposition and fell to a Corkscrew Moonsault from Taiji Ishimori. After the match had ended, Yokosuka and Sugawara beat up on Ishinriki in anger before claiming they would avenge this loss in Saitama.

Bill Goldberg is seemingly unstoppable once more as he takes on Okumura and Satake alongside Murakami. Murakami seemed less than happy to have been teamed with the big gaijin, but still participated somewhat. The bout came to an abrupt end when Goldberg tossed Okumura to the outside and executed a massive chokeslam on Satake. Goldberg told reporters backstage after the bout that he could care less if Murakami wanted to be his partner. He also said that if Osamu Tachihikari of SPWF really wanted to defeat Goldberg, that he would need to bring something extra special to the ring in Saitama; before stating that Tachihikari was 'Next'.

The Revolution Army vs. Heisei Ishingun war rages on as a Choshu lead Revolution Army take on a Goto lead Heisei Ishingun team. Both sides showed great fire and intensity, but in the end, this new found focus of Choshu won the battle for the Revolution Army team when he locked in the Sasori Gatame on Nobunaga. Immediately after being defeat, Shiima Nobunaga (formerly CIMA) stormed off, refusing to speak with reporters. Some in ring appeared confused by this action, but continued on as normal, with Goto helping Aoyagi to the back who received a number of Riki Lariats in the match.

A very captivating junior bout was to follow featuring four of WARs most talented junior workers. The Great Sasuke met his Saitama opponent across the ring for the first time tonight in what was a very exciting and fast paced exchange. Sasuke appeared impressed by what Milano was capable, but did not let it distract from the task at hand. To conclude, current WAR International Junior Heavyweight Champion executed the Fire Thunder Powerbomb on Dragon Kid for the win. Milano said that today he was not showing his 100% form, claiming to be reserving all of his energy for the title bout in Saitama. Dragon Kid told reporters backstage that this match had been an invaluable experience for him, and that he would use what he had learned here to better his future performances.

Kazuyuki Fujita and Jinsei Shinzaki met up in singles compeition once again, with Fujita looking to avenge his loss to Shinzaki in the J-1 Tournament many months ago. Fujita and Shinzaki both seemed very focused going into this bout and provided a very physical encounter. TEAM NO FEAR! representative Fujita tried to finish off Shinzaki early with a running knee strike to the gut followed by a number to the head on a downed Shinzaki, but Jinsei managed to recover and provide some offence of his own. Shinzaki executed a Diving Headbutt and followed up with the Nenbustu Powerbomb to try and seal the match, but Fujita showed great resliance and kicked out just after the two count. Shinzaki went for another Powerbomb attempt, but Fujita tossed Heisei Ishingun representative Shinzaki over his head and followed up with a Knee Strike to the head as Jinsei tried to make it to his feet. That was enough to secure the victory for Fujita, and avenge his loss to Shinzaki many months ago. Kazuyuki Fujita seemed very happy with his victory and claimed to be be thinking outside of TEAM NO FEAR! and looking for great singles success if he is given the opportunity. Shinzaki told press that Fujita caught him off guard, and congratulated him on his resliance and awareness, but looked forward to another meeting in Saitama.

Old partners Kensuke and Hase find themselves teamed together for the last time on the Mega Power tour, alongside their partner Nobuhiko Takada. Takada seemed eager to get revenge for his recent loss and previous losses to Andrei Arlovski (who was accompanied by Maeda and Goldberg) in this bout, singling him out whenever possible. Arlovski's teammates, Kawada and Shibata showed great strength and togetherness, managing to hold back the opposition and provide significant offence. After a heated exchange, Arlovski managed to reverse a Uranage attempt into a Russian Neck Drop to pick up the win over Hiroshi Hase. After the match had finished, Arlovski and Maeda got in the face of 'Mr. J-1' Kensuke Sasaki telling him to cherish his title while he still has it. Kensuke showed no fear in the face of the much larger Arlovski, pushing him and Maeda before being seperated by teammates and officials.

Kensuke Sasaki spoke on his blog about his upcoming Japan J-1 Heavyweight Title match against Andrei Arlovski.

"...Thankfully I already have a large amount of experience against someone with the abilties of Andrei Arlovski; even having some experience in a shoot style environment will give me that extra edge needed to prepare myself for such opposition. Arlovski has had great success so far in Wrestle Association "R", but few of his victories have been of any great significance. One important factor is that I know he is not undefeatable, Riki Choshu was proof of this many months ago. My training regime has been slightly modified, so as to match, if not exceed (^o^), the stamina and strength of Arlovski. There has been a lot of talk lately about the relationship between Wrestle Association "R" and World Wrestling Entertainment recently.. initially I was not too fond of the idea, but eventually came round to Tenryu's way of thinking. However, after all that has happened recently, its my belief that WAR could easily stand on its own two feet without support. The relationship with WWE has had some significance where acquiring the like of Chris Jericho and Bill Goldberg are concerned, but I have concerns that in the long terms, it wont be quite as beneficial. Regardless, I hope to see you all in Saitama this coming Wednesday where your support will aid me in my defence of the Japan J-1 Title once more."

During a promotional conference for WAR merchandise, Yoshihiro Takayama was present and gave his feelings on defending the WAR Six Man Tag Team Titles against the Heisei Ishingun team lead by Shiro Koshinaka. Takayama said that the victory Koshinaka achieved over himself was nothing but luck, and that his luck will have run out when they meet in Saitama. He promised a decisive victory typical of TEAM NO FEAR! 2005 and aimed to carry the Six Man Tag Team Titles into 2006.

After what took place regarding Shiima Nobunaga in Tokyo at the last Mega Power Series event, there are rumours going around that the wrestler otherwise known as CIMA has left Wrestle Association "R". There were rumours that CIMA had been unhappy with his position in WAR for some time, and that returning to the name he used in World Championship Wrestling many years ago was the final act that made him decide to leave. Some in the press believe that recent departures have been down to the revealing of the relationship WAR holds with World Wrestling Entertainment, that many also believe will have a great effect on the attendance in Saitama.

Hey man, just a quick request considering the format of ur diary. Any chance we could get the sum up results with match times etc at the END of the show instead of at the start? This is for those of us who actually like to read the match reports, meaning we don't get spoiled at the start?

WAR MEGA POWER FINALE 2005 16/11/05

IPB Image

The Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo presents: Wrestle Association "R": Mega Power Finale 2005.

Making its debut in the Saitama Super Arena, Wrestle Association "R" takes a big risk running such a large arena after the recent announcement of their relationship with World Wrestling Entertainment, and only a month before their first stand alone Tokyo Dome show. Will the quality of WAR be enough to win the fans over? And does Kensuke Sasaki have what it takes to defend his Japan J-1 Heavyweight Title from Former UFC Heavyweight Champion, the young and powerful Andrei Arlovski? Maeda, Fujiwara and Ujiie were the commentators for this event.

1. Kengo Mashimo & Ryuji Ito vs. Kaiser Valion & Prototype Valion

The SPWF junior team made an impressive debut in Wrestle Association "R" going up against young WAR prospects Mashimo and Ito. P-Valion and K-Valion appeared to be nervous going into this bout, but they still managed to put up considerable opposition for the native team. Mashimo and Ito singled out and isolated P-Valion early in the bout, weakening him considerably before he could tag back K-Valion. K-Valion was very impressive against Ito, but when Mashimo returned to the ring, Kaiser was forced to tag P-Valion back in. Mashimo made quick work of the already fatigued P-Valion and used a Kick Rush to wear him down and get the pin.

2. Susumu Yokosuka & Takuya Sugawara vs. Taiji Ishimori & Super Shisa

Upon entrance, Yokosuka and Sugawara explained to announcer Ezaki that they should be referred to as 'The Evolution of Wrestling'. Yokosuka and Sugawara showed great chemistry in this fast paced and exciting bout, more so than the team of Ishimori and Super Shisa. Shisa and Ishimori still performed to an excellent standard however, pushing the limits of ' The Evolution of Wrestling', but it wasn't enough to counteract this new found alliance. Yokosuka used the Takai Takai (modified powerbomb) on Ishimori to get the win before celebrating their success. Afterwards, they told press that they would continue this success and display an evolved style of wrestling throughout; there would be no underhanded tactics or anything of that nature, as this style of wrestling would outdate and overwhelm everything else.

3. Sasuke The Great vs. Hyper Brave G-Valion

Hyper Brave G-Valion recieved a great reaction from the Saitama Super Arena spectators for his battle against the rebellious Sasuke The Great, who is accompanied by Koji Ishinriki. G-Valion showed great intensity, fire and spirit in his battle against Sasuke The Great, but the experience of Sasuke The Great gave him the edge in this bout, as he dominated and grounded the less experienced G-Valion. Sasuke began to beat G-Valion brutally, and tore his mask; he also 'accidentally' knocked down the official. Ishinriki entered the ring with a cane, as Sasuke held G-Valion's arms; Koji swung at G-Valion with the cane and struck him between the eyes, busting him open. He swung again, but G-Valion missed and hit Sasuke The Great. G-Valion hit a dropkick on Ishinriki, sending him to the outside, and then executed the Valion Spike on Sasuke The Great to pick up a huge upset victory! Backstage, G-Valion thanked the fans for his support and promised he would fight against the injustice of people like STG as long as he can.

4. WAR International Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Title: Magnum TOKYO & Darkness Dragon (Do FIXER) © vs. Raimu Mishima & Takamichi Iwasa (The Revolution Brothers)

Magnum TOKYO, K-Ness and Masato Yoshino performed their Do FIXER dance routine upon entry, but it was interrupted by Mishima and Iwasa who came in swinging chairs at TOKYO and K-Ness; of which a few shots connected. As the match got under way, Mishima used a lot of underhanded tactics to get the upperhand on Magnum TOKYO, as Iwasa distracted "Red Shoes" Unno, the residing official for this bout. TOKYO manages to get the tag and executes a double enziguri with K-Ness on Mishima. Mishima tags in Iwasa, who shows surprising strength and technique against Darkness Dragon. The Revolution Brothers show excellent team work, Mishima managing to execute a Powerbomb Pin on K-Ness that gets a two count. K-Ness starts fighting back and gains momentum, using the Darkness Buster on Iwasa later in the bout, but Mishima breaks up the pin. With Mishima back in the ring against K-Ness, Iwasa sneaks around the ring on the outside and takes out TOKYO with a chair shot to the legs, and out of no where, Revolution Dragon appears and takes down Yoshino. Mishima tosses K-Ness to the ropes and Iwasa strikes him on the back with a chair shot; "Red Shoes" Unno is rubbing his eyes, and doesn't see the chair shot. Mishima capitalises on the chair shot and executes the Revolution☆Yell on K-Ness to pick up the victory and become the 12th WAR Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.

5. Bill Goldberg vs. Osamu Tachihikari

Tachihikari shows great strength against Bill Goldberg in this bout, and quickly troubles the gaijin with a Tachi Clutch, but Goldberg just manages to kick out. Goldberg begins to battle back and overwhelms Tachihikari with his power, but also incorporates a few mixed martial arts style maneuvers that surprise Osamu. Goldberg locks in a front facelock, and just when it appeared that Osamu was about to give in, Goldberg lifted him up for a Jackhammer to get the three count on the SPWF representative.

6. Genichiro Tenryu & Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Ryuma Go & Masashi Aoyagi

Tenryu and Yatsu team up for the first time in many years in this bout, where they face Heisei Ishingun mmeber Masashi Aoyagi and WAR veteran Ryuma Go. Aoyagi and Go show little chemistry in this bout, but seperately manage to provide stiff opposition in a very physical encounter. The four veterans put on a excellent performance, not to be out done by those half their age, and push the boundaries of their own bodies. The instant chemistry between Yatsu and Tenryu is obvious throughout the bout as they fight intelligently, but with a well defined vicious streak. The bout reaches its conclusion when Yatsu traps Go with the Jailhouse Lock for the submission victory. While Tenryu and Yatsu are celebrating in the ring, they are suddendly attacked by a New Japan invasion force! "Black Charisma" Masahiro Chono, "Dark Soul" Shinsuke Nakamura and "Dragon" Tatsumi Fujinami began a brutal assault of Tenryu, Yatsu, Go and Aoyagi before rushing off to avoid those that had come to defend WAR. A reporter caught up with the New Japan representatives, and Nakamura exclaimed that this was war. After being cleaned up, Yatsu told reporters that he was very happy to team up with old partner Tenryu and enjoyed facing Go and Aoyagi, despite of what happened. He added that the relationship between SPWF and WAR would produce many great things in the coming year, for both promotions and that he would do whatever he can to defend WAR from the NJPW assault.

7. WAR International Junior Heavyweight Title: The Great Sasuke © vs. Milano Collection AT

Sasuke and Milano shook hands before the bout began, showing great respect for one another. They started off with an armdrag exchange before exchanging kicks, but neither man was backing down or showing signs of fatigue. Sasuke took Milano to the mat and began working on the legs of Milano Collection AT with a side leglock. In response, Milano began working on the arms of Sasuke using the AT Lock and a number of similar complex submission holds (Italian Stretches), and chain submissions. After working on the leg of Milano for some time, Sasuke began to up the pace of the bout, knowing full well that Milano would not be able to keep up in his condition. The more experienced Sasuke executed a great variety of high flying moves to weaken Milano, but Milano managed to persevere, and hit an enziguri on Sasuke, followed by a jumping tombstone piledriver that got a near three count. Seemingly angered by how well Milano was still performing, The Great Sasuke executed two consecutive Fire Thunder Powerbombs on Milano, but Milano just managed to kick out. Sasuke climbed to the top turnbuckle, but Milano managed to stop him from executing it and hit a fishermans buster on Sasuke from the top turnbuckle, but that wasn't enough to keep Sasuke down. Before The Great Sasuke could get to his feet, Milano ran towards the ropes, limping slightly and hit the Emporio Armani Shoe before running to the other side of the ring, still limping a little, and used the Armani Shoe Exchange, but couldn't capitalise due to the pain in his leg. Sasuke managed to get to his feet and went to hit another Fire Thunder Powerbomb, but Milano slid down the back of the veteran junior. Milano spun Sasuke around and hit the Italian Revolution that scored the three count to give Milano Collection AT the win and crowned a new WAR International Junior Heavyweight Champion. Backstage afterwards, Milano thanked The Great Sasuke for giving him this opportunity and allowing him to ascend to these heights. He said that The Great Sasuke is easily the most talented individual he has faced thus far, and that it was an honour to face him, and an even greater honour to be able tp pick up as win over him. Milano promised to represent the WAR junior division as well as he can, and was more than ready to defend it against all challengers; expressing an interest in a rematch with Masaaki Mochizuki (who had been absent from the Mega Power tour due to inujury) or Jushin Thunder Liger.

8. Hiroshi Hase vs. Riki Choshu

Hase received a great reaction from the Saitama crowd, and seemed eager to get to action. Choshu appeared very focused and showed great intensity in this bout. They began with a feeling out session, testing one another, that lead to a chop exchange that was won by Hase. Hiroshi then grounded Choshu and began working on the neck and head of his opponent. Choshu showed little patience for being held down, and began a vicious assault on Hase, taking him to the outside and busting him open on the ring post. Hase tried to maintain his composure, and continued to try and wear down the neck and head of Choshu, but the Revolution Warrior was eager to brawl with Hase and hit a low blow and tossed Hase to the outside again. Hase tried to match strikes with Choshu, but was bested by a Riki Lariat and hit the mats hard with the back of his head when he landed. Choshu rolled Hase back into the ring, and hit another Riki Lariat when Hase staggered to his feet, but it wasn't enough to keep Hiroshi down. Changing his tactics slightly, Riki Choshu went for a Sasori Gatame, but Hase countered it with a roll up pin that nearly got a three count on Choshu. Choshu chanrged at Hase when he got to his feet, but Hase dodged his attack and hit a Uranage, before lifting Choshu and using a Northern Lights Suplex to get the quick three count on Choshu. Hase quickly rolled from the ring to escape and enraged Choshu, and was quick to avoid Tenryu, who had accompanied Choshu, and made his way backstage. Backstage he thanked the fans for their continued support and said that he hoped to work again in Wrestle Association "R", naming Tenryu as a possible opponent.

9. Nobuhiko Takada, Masaaki Satake & Kiyoshi Tamura vs. Toshiaki Kawada, Katsuyori Shibata & Kazunari Murakami

In a surprisingly brief exchange, Team Takada showed impressive unity against the team lead by Kawada, who had recently been training Shibata and Murakami to help them focus their pro wrestling abilities. Tamura recieved a strong reception from the crowd and had an exciting and violent, but brief exchange with Murakami. Nubuhiko Takada used his experience to outsmart Murakami, forcing Murakami to tag in Kawada who quickly rushed Takada and caught him with a hard kick to the face. Shibata and Satake had a lengthy kick exchange, and Satake hit Shibata with a spinning back chop before tagging in Takada again, who locked in a jujigatame to make Shibata submit before his partners could break it up.

10. WAR Six Man Tag Team Titles: Yoshihiro Takayama, Kazuyuki Fujita & Minoru Suzuki © vs. Shiro Koshinaka, Jinsei Shinzaki & Tatsutoshi Goto

After an enthusiastic entrance, the Heisei Ishingun team lead by Koshinaka was off to a good start when Koshinaka quickly troubled Takayama, forcing him to tag in Fujita. Shinzaki asked Koshinaka to let him in, so that he could get a chance at avenging his loss to Fujita last week. In another brief exchange, Shinzaki troubled Fujita with his agility, who rolled to the outside to escape Jinsei. Koshinaka quickly apprehended Fujita on the outside, and caught him with a swift chair shot before sending him back inside the ring. Back in the ring again, Shinzaki showed impressive ground skills against Fujita, showing that he had prepared well for this bout, and manages to survive a few knee strikes. Shinzaki hits a Nenbutsu Powerbomb on Fujita, but it is broken up by Takayama, and Fujita quickly tags in Suzuki. Minoru Suzuki and Shiro Koshinaka met in the ring as the legal men, as Jinsei tags out, and Suzuki quickly managed to isolate Koshinaka from his team. TEAM NO FEAR! 2005 keep Koshinaka in their half of the ring, and wear him down, but he shows great resiliance against the submissions of the opposition. Koshinaka hits a Dragon Suplex Pin on Suzuki, but Minoru manages to escape; only to get caught in an abdominal stretch pin, just kicking out before the three. Miscommunication between Fujita and Takayama leads to Koshinaka managing to escape and get the tag to Tatsutoshi Goto. Goto is quickly on the offence, and hits a back drop on all members of TEAM NO FEAR! 2005 before tagging Koshinaka back in who uses his new Hip Attack technique to pick up the upset win over TEAM NO FEAR! to become the 17th WAR Six Man Tag Team Champions. Koshinaka told reporters backstage that he was confident that this Heisei Ishingun had resurrected the Samurai Soul that had brought them success in the past. He credited TEAM NO FEAR! 2005 as a strong team, but said that the Heisei Ishingun was full of new life and that this was only the beginning of their success. TEAM NO FEAR! had nothing to say to reporters, but Fujita yelled that he was "sick of this".

11. Japan J-1 Heavyweight Title: Kensuke Sasaki © vs. Andrei Arlovski

Andrei Arlovski, accompanied to the ring by Akira Maeda and Bill Goldberg, looks very fit and intense upon entry and 'Mr J-1' Kensuke Sasaki, accompanied by Akira Hokuto and protege Katsuhiko Nakajima, looks extremely focused and prepared; wearing MMA gloves and with his head shaved. As the match begins, Arlovski quickly attacks Kensuke and makes a takedown attempt, but Kensuke stops it and catches him in a frontface lock! Arlovski manages to force his way to the ropes and tries to attack Kensuke quickly again, this time connecting with a Russian Neck Drop very early in the match, but Kensuke survives it and kicks out; the first person to have ever kicked out of Arlovski's Russian Neck Drop. A very physical, brutal and intense battle ensues, with Arlovski getting busted open after a number of blows to the head by Kensuke. Sasaki shows impressive strength, lifting Arlovski above his head and hitting a body press slam. To his feet again, Arlovski catches Kensuke with a vicious right hook that sends him to the mat; Andrei capitalises on the downed Kensuke, lifting him up and over for a German Suplex. Andrei Arlovski covers Kensuke, but only gets a two count. As he makes his way to his feet, Kensuke takes a number of kicks from Arlovski, but shrugs them off. He hits a few chops on Arlovski and follows up with a DDT, lifts Arlovski again and hits the Northern Lights Bomb and then locks in Strangle Hold Gamma. Arlovski has a lot of trouble getting to the ropes, but eventually manages to struggle over and grabs the bottom rope. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion, visibly rocked by the aggressive Kensuke, struggles to get to his feet, only to be caught with a huge lariat from Kensuke, but it still isn't enough to keep Arlovski down. Arlovski manages to regather himself somewhat, and musters the energy to lift Kensuke onto his shoulders and hit and inverted samoan drop. Not satisfied that this will be enough to keep Kensuke down, Arlovski uses a modified powerslam and another German suplex in an attempt to keep Kensuke down. When Kensuke gets to his feet, Arlovski rushes at him with a flurry of kicks and punches, and hits the Russian Neck Drop that seems to knock Kensuke out cold. Arlovski covers for the three count, but doesn't quite get the full three, as Kensuke manages to kick up just before the referees hand touches the mat. Maeda and Goldberg try to argue with the referee, but Hokuto chases them with her cane. Kensuke turns to face Arlovski who goes to hit a high roundhouse kick, but Kensuke ducks it, grabs Arlovski and executes the brutal Volcanic Eruption that keeps Arlovski down for the three count. Backstage afterwards, Kensuke expresses his pleasure at being able to overcome the monster Arlovski, but would like to focus on another issue. The invasion of New Japan Pro Wrestling. Kensuke says that he would be more than ready to defend WAR against NJPW, and plans on assembling a solid regular WAR army to defend against such opposition. He asked the WAR fans for their full support in this battle, as after tonight it, Wrestle Association "R" would need the full backing of its supporters. Arlovski pushed aside reporters backstage, and said that he and Goldberg would tear WAR apart from the inside.

Shocking news; Kazuyuki Fujita was spotted by reporters leaving the offices of New Japan Pro Wrestling. He told the press that he was irritated by his position in Wrestle Association "R" and had been in talks with old mentor Antonio Inoki. Fujita stressed that the issue is far from resolved, and that he may still come to a deal with WAR officials based on what was spoke about with Antonio Inoki.

Also today, there have been hints and rumours that the next WAR Tokyo Dome show will be a return of the old WAR vs. NJPW, especially considering that happened in Saitama last night. These rumours have not yet been confirmed by WAR officials yet.

19th November 2005

Wrestle Association "R" President Masatomo Takei held a joint press conference promised to reveal a huge announcement, alongside Kazuyuki Fujita and none other than NJPW President Simon Inoki.

To start off, President Takei revealed that before the Dome show on 28/12, there would be a WAR tour travelling the regions by the name of 'WAR: Champion of R 2005". This would be a five show tour ending with a decent sized event in Kumamoto, at the Kumamoto Gran Messe.

New Japan Pro Wrestling President Simon Inoki expressed his feelings that Wrestle Association "R" was nothing more than a big money venture, and that NJPW would be solely responsible for its demise. Inoki claimed that he would seal the Japan J-1 Heavyweight Title as the catalyst for the second death of WAR, and that the man to do it would be Kazuyuki Fujita. He also added that throughout the Champion of R tour he would be dispatching NJPW workers to participate in matches to further scout and weaken the opposition.

Kazuyuki Fujita explained that before he joined up with Wrestle Association "R", he was offered another spot in NJPW, but turned it down, feeling that at this time NJPW was not the home of 'real' pro wrestling. Fujita told Masatomo Takei that he himself was a great acquisition for WAR, but to be treated in the manner he had been was unfitting for someone of his skill. Kazuyuki stated that he would no longer be a part of TEAM NO FEAR! 2005, but would still occassionally team up with friends Takayama and Suzuki. He continued, claiming that he would act as a representative of Antonio Inoki from within Wrestle Association "R" and would claim the Japan J-1 Heavyweight Title for his old mentor.

President Takei expressed that he would not back down from this challenge, and announced the main event of the Tokyo Dome show here and now, as Kensuke Sasaki would have to defend his Japan J-1 Heavyweight Title from Kazuyuki Fujita.

Fujita and Simon Inoki then left the conference, as President Takei revealed the dates, locations and a few matches for the upcoming tour.

In yet another press conference, Wrestle Association "R" President Masatomo Takei is seen alongside SPWF Owner, Yoshiaki Yatsu.

Yatsu expressed his pleasure at participating in the recent WAR event in Saitama, and claimed that he would like to perform against a much more challenging opponent, to really allow him to shine in singles competition. In response, President Takei agreed to add a match to the first show in the Champion of R Series, pitting Yoshiaki Yatsu against Andrei Arlovski. Yatsu added that he felt Arlovski would be feeling weak after his loss to Kensuke, and that capitalising on this, and the inexperience of Arlovski would be his keys to victory.

Takei concluded the conference by revealing the full card for the 23/11 tour opener.

WAR CHAMPION OF R SERIES 2005 23/11/05

A junior match was to kick off this opening night of the Champion of R series, that saw one half of the Revolution Brothers, Takamichi Iwasa, take on a Big Japan deathmatch worker returning to his lucharesu roots in Wrestle Association "R", Ryuji Ito. ito showed great skill and focus, but the tactics of The Revolution Brothers, including the occassional interference of Raimu Mishima on the outside, was too much for Ito to handle. After being tripped by Mishima, Ito walked into a Snap Brainbuster from Iwasa to end the match.

One third of Team Takada, Masaaki Satake, looked to prove himself in the second bout of the night, taking on former Sumo and old Tenryu disciple Nobutaka Araya. Satake showed great drive and focus utilising many MMA style maneuvres to weaken Araya, and eventually manages to put Araya away, using a Cross Armbreaker to force the submission.

The Great Sasuke teams up with K-Dojo star Kengo Mashimo to face Sasuke The Great and Takuya Sugawara, who has recently found much success teaming with Susumi Yokosuka. This success was not reflected in this bout however, as the experience of The Great Sasuke helped divide and weaken the opposing team. Mashimo capitalised and hit a Kick Rush on Sugawara to pick up the win.

WAR International Junior Heavyweight Champion Milano Collection AT faces another former Dragon Gate/Toryumon worker, Susumu Yokosuka, in the third junior bout of the night. Milano showed great strength and focus in this bout, picking up a decisive victory over Yokosuka. After the match, Milano expressed his interest in defending the International Junior Heavyweight Title in Kumamoto Gran Messe at the end of the Champion of R tour, and was ready to accept challenges from whomever wanted a shot at his title.

Social Pro Wrestling Federation owner Yoshiaki Yatsu looked to defeat former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski in this heavyweight match, and aimed to use his brief MMA experience to handle any offence Arlovski might come up with. Yatsu showed great fire and intensity, but the stronger and younger Arlovski was just too powerful, managing to take down the veteran worker and lock in an Achilles Lock to force the submission.

The man who would challenge Kensuke Sasaki for his Japan J-1 Heavyweight Title, Kazuyuki Fujita, teamed up again with Kazunari Murakami for the second time in their WAR tenure to take on Heisei Ishingun representatives Jinsei Shinzaki and Tatsutoshi Goto. Shinzaki seemed to still be singling out Fujita in this match, possibly looking to avenge his loss to Fujita from the Mega Powers tour; seeing as both workers are 1-1 for victories in singles matches. The team of Murakami and Fujita used quick tags and intelligent team work to single out Goto however, and Fujita managed to catch Goto with a number of knee strikes to pick up the victory. Afterwards, Kazuyuki Fujita promised press a winning streak throughout this tour that would culminate in the Tokyo Dome against Kensuke. He claimed to be looking forward to facing Toshiaki Kawada in Aomori Industrial Hall and stated he would be looking for a decisive submission victory in under ten minutes to prove his strength.

Heisei Ishingun leader Shiro Koshinaka would take on the man who lead the team that the Heisei Ishingun took the WAR World 6-Man Tag Team Titles from, Yoshihiro Takayama of the now two man TEAM NO FEAR! 2005. Takayama was very physical and intense throughout this bout, really pushing the boundaries of Koshinaka physically. Koshinaka showed great spirit and resiliance however, almost surprising Takayama again with his modified Hip Attack technique, but managing to follow up with a Powerbomb Pin to pick up a well earned victory over the much taller opponent. Takayama and Suzuki tried to attack Koshinaka after the match had ended, but Koshinaka's Heisei Ishingun team mates were quick to intercept and clear the ring. Backstage afterwards, Takayama claimed that TEAM NO FEAR! was reeling from the loss at Saitama and claimed that the would regroup and regather themselves in time for facing Team Takada in Mie Prefectural Sun Arena Sub Arena. He stated that the strength of Fujita would be the key to their success in this match, and hoped to convince Fujita to remain as a member of TEAM NO FEAR! 2005 before the match takes place.

Wrestle Association "R" President Masatomo Takei departed from Japan today to meet up woth World Wrestling Entertainment executives in order to renegotiate the relationship between the two promotions. When reporters caught up with President Takei in the airport before he left, he stated that WAR no longer needs to be reliant on funding from World Wrestling Entertainment, and that the nature of relationship may have been a cause of the poor attendance seen at the Saitama Super Arena. Takei promised that after negotiations have taken place there would possibly be some re-arranging within the WAR roster to ensure that Wrestle Association "R" is functioning as well as it can financially.

Also today, New Japan Pro Wrestling President Simon Inoki announced who would be participating in the WAR Champion of R tour from NJPW, when they would appear and who they would be wrestling.

Yoshiaki Fujiwara held a press conference alongside Yoshiaki Yatsu for Wrestle Association "R" today, revealing the full card for the upcoming 30/11 event.

Yatsu told reporters that he realised it might have been a bit foolhardy of him to go straight after a very fit Andrei Arlovski, considering how long he had been comfortable in the SPWF environment before coming to WAR, and wasn't really fully prepared for that kind of match. Instead, Yatsu said he would be sending Osamu Tachihikari to Wrestle Association "R" more often from now on, who he believes fits the WAR environment almost more than that of Social Pro Wrestling. Tachihikari would make his next WAR appearance on 07/12 in the Mie Prefectural Sun Arena Sub Arena.

Fujiwara then revealed the vard for the 30/11 show in Aomori.

Pro Wrestling NOAH co-founder Mitsuharu Misawa returned to NOAH today along with Jun Akiyama and KENTA after apparently resolving the problems that occured within the promotion. Along with this came the announcement from Misawa, who was quick to retake his position as owner, that Pro Wrestling NOAH would be freezing all relations with Wrestle Association "R". Misawa confirmed that there was a deal between WAR and NOAH that lead to his depature and some followers to Pro Wrestling ZERO-ONE MAX, but that the issue had now been fully resolved.

Big news for Wrestle Association "R" today as the promotion makes its return to FIGHTING TV SAMURAI on 30/11. After some negotiation between WAR President Takei and FIGHTING TV SAMURAI President Junichi Watanabe, the channel was more than happy to see in the return of Wrestle Association "R" to their weekly schedule.

Also today, Jushin Thunder Liger announced his desire to face Milano Collection AT for the Wrestle Association "R" International Junior Heavyweight Title. He noted that he already had a victory over Milano from this years Best of the Super Junior Tournament, but when they face off in WAR it wound up a Disqualification. As a the first WAR International Junior Heavyweight Champion of this WAR era, Liger claimed that it was only fitting that Milano should have to prove himself before him, to prove his true worth as champion. He expressed that he would be bringing 100% to Milano whenever the match takes place, so he had better be fully prepared, as Milano hasn't faced a challenge like this yet in his career.

WAR CHAMPION OF R SERIES 2005 30/11/05

The self proclaimed 'Evolution of Wrestling', Susumu Yokosuka and Takuya Sugawara start off this event, as Yokosuka takes on Ryuji Ito in a singles bout. Ito puts up strong opposition, showing great fire and intensity, but Yokosuka seems to have the edge in this match, and manages to hit the Yokosuka Cutter on Ito to get a quick victory. Sugawara and Yokosuka told reporters backstage that the spectators were witnessing the early stages of evolution, and that the only way to progress from here was forwards and upwards, towards greater things.

Two members of the now disbanded Nuovo Italian Connection team up again in this junior tag match, as the WAR International Junior Heavyweight Champion, Milano Collection AT team up with Taiji Ishimori to take on Sasuke The Great and Dragon Kid. Sasuke and Dragon Kid work together quite well as a team and manage to isolate and ground Ishimori, limiting a lot of his offence. He eventually managed to get the tag to Milano who was able to turn the tide of the match and pick up a pinfall over Sasuke The Great using the Italian Revolution. Backstage after the match, Milano Collection AT spoke with press and said he was happy to have been challenged by Jushin Thunder Liger, as he is eager to prove that he can defeat the junior legend and truly represent the pinnicale of style, fashion and junior wrestling in Wrestle Association "R".

In a brief encounter, Katsuyori Shibata seemed extremely focused, showing great tenacity and fire, as he took on Shigeo Okumura. Okumura appeared to be overwhelmed by the intensity of Shibata and took a swift kick to the face as he sat up on the mat after receiving a flurry of kicks to the body and head. Shibata stated afterwards that he was not happy with his form as of late, and was looking to regather himself and go after another title, if not make another shot at the J-1 Title; seeing as his idea of becoming one half of the first ever WAR Heavyweight Tag Team Champion has not yet came to fruition.

Two thirds of Do FIXER team up in the second junior tag match of the night, as Magnum TOKYO and Masato Yoshino team up to take on junior legend Jushin Thunder Liger and the last Open the Dream Gate Champion Dragon Gate Pro Wrestling saw, the WAR trueborn who was also the last International Junior Heavyweight Champion the previous incarnation of WAR saw, Masaaki Mochizuki. The well decorated team of Liger and Mochizuki had the experience edge in this bout, particularly over Yoshino, and used this to their advantage throughout; singling out Yoshino and dominating the match. TOKYO began to make a spirited comeback, but was cut off by Liger and forced to tag back in his already fatigued partner. Yoshino showed great fighting spirit, but Liger managed to overwhelm him and hit a Brainbuster DDT to give his team the win. Backstage after the bout, Liger stressed that he was not representing New Japan Pro Wrestling in this tour, that he was looking out for himself and wanted the WAR International Junior Heavyweight Title for himself. He expressed his happiness at Milano's eagerness to face him, and said that when he wins the title back, his will defend it first against Mochizuki.

Hiroyoshi Tenzan makes his Wrestle Association "R" debut in this match, representing New Japan Pro Wrestling. He is accompanied to the ring by the 6'5" Hiroshi Nagao, who is holding a NJPW flag high above his head. WAR trueborn Nobukazu Hirai is accompanied by Nobutaka Araya in this bout, and appears extremely determined. Hirai wastes no time, and is quitely on the offence, surprsing Tenzan and taking the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion down to the mat. Tenzan eventually manages to recouperate and begins to dominate the bout, using his size advantage well. Out of nowhere, Nobukazu Hirai hit the Hirai's End and the referee makes the count; but only makes two. Angered by this, Tenzan begins to viciously attack Hirai with hooks the the body and head, and hits the TTD to get the first NJPW victory in the war against Wrestle Association "R". Tenzan took the mic and told those in attendance that if this is the best WAR can produce then the battle is already won.

In an unusual mixed weight bout, Arlovski teams up with Takuya Sugawara to take on 'Mr. J-1' Kensuke Sasaki and popular K-Dojo star Kengo Mashimo. Arlovski seems intent on facing Kensuke throughout this bout, hellbent on avenging his lose to Kensuke Sasaki; refusing to tag in Sugawara. Kensuke shows great form however and hits the Northern Lights Bomb early in the match, and Arlovski quickly make the a tag. Kensuke hits a lariat on Sugawara and tags in Mashimo who manages to control the pace of the bout well. Sugawara eventually manages to get the tag to Arlovski however, who wastes no time in pummeling Mashimo, and hitting the Russian Neck Drop to get the win. Arlovski told reporters backstage that he didn't care too greatly about the WAR vs. NJPW situation, and states that there is no one on the NJPW roster strong enough to oppose him.

Kazuyuki Fujita comes to the ring alone for this main event match against Kawada, appearing very immersed. Kawada looks somewhat detached in this bout, who also appears alone, but in the ring he still shows great fire and strength. Kawada hits a great number of kicks to the face of Fujita, and manages to hit the Dangerous Backdrop on his opponent, but doesn't get the three count. Kazuyuki Fujita hits a number of knee strike and connects with a big powerbomb, but it isn't enough to keep Kawada done. The two battle back and forth, neither looking to give an inch to their opponent, but when Kawada goes for a Brainbuster DDT, Fujita manages to reverse it; following up with a Jackhammer to pick up a big victory over Toshiaki Kawada on WAR's return to FIGHTING TV SAMURAI. Kazuyuki Fujita told reporters backstage afterwards that he was disappointed by the performance of Toshiaki Kawada in this match, and suspects that Kawada's heart might not be 100% into this. He suggested that if Kawada isn't happy here, maybe he should be the first one to make the jump to New Japan Pro Wrestling before things get ugly.

That was a great show. I'm really hyped for WAR Vs NJPW, especially if you can make it as good as the original angle in the 90s.

The only problem I have is that Fujita is considered an outsider in New Japan, so for him to be the main representative of New Japan in this feud is a little strange.

Still, It was a great card, and I'm really loving the way you write Sasaki as company ace, as its not a position I could buy him in in the real world.

1st December 2005

Fresh from his journey to the United States, Wrestle Association "R" President Masatomo Takei was ready to reveal the results of his recent meeting with World Wrestling Entertainment officials. Takei stated that the negotiations were successful, and that WAR would no longer be financially reliant on WWE. He stressed that there was a pleasant tone to the meeting, and that there were talks of possible talent exchanges in the future which could be key in rivaling New Japan Pro Wrestling's worldwide expansion program. When questionned about the decision of Pro Wrestling NOAH Owner Mitsuharu Misawa to freeze relations, President Takei claimed that Misawa is a very selfish individual who will no doubt bring down the prestige of Pro Wrestling NOAH in years to come. Takei added that a simple deal was being made between WAR and NOAH that had the backing of many in Pro Wrestling NOAH, bar a select few. It just so happened that amongst those few were Owner Mistuharu Misawa, Jun Akiyama and KENTA; who chose to jump ship to Pro Wrestling ZERO-ONE MAX when the majority ruled in favour of the WAR/NOAH deal. Takei said that he is disappointed that it has come to this, but isn't surprised. To conclude, President Takei stated that WAR was all about bringing to the fans the kind of revolutionary professional wrestling they desrve to see, and claimed that 2006 would usher in a new age for Japanese professional wrestling, with Wrestle Association "R" at the forefront.

During an interview with a sportsnavi reporter, discussing his recent participation in a U-STYLE Axis event and possible particiation in the 31/12 PRIDE end of year show, and the 04/01 NJPW Tokyo Dome show, Josh Barnett responded to comments recently made by Wrestle Association "R" star and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski. Barnett told press that he knows he is strong enough to take down Arlovski, and wants NJPW and WAR to make Barnett/Arlovski happen. He stressed that he doesn't care if its a shoot fight, or if its pro wrestling as to him they go hand-in-hand; he wants to show Arlovski just how strong someone from New Japan Pro Wrestling can actually be.

Also today, Nobuhiko Takada held an open training session at the Takada Dojo, where he, Masaaki Satake and Kiyoshi Tamura were training to prepare for their six man tag match against TEAM NO FEAR! 2005 at the Mie Prefectural Sun Arena Sub Arena on 07/12. Takada revealed that from here on in he plans on maintaining a lighter schedule where pro wrestling was concerned so as to reserve his strength for the more important encounters he may have in WAR. He empahsised however that he would be fully backing the progress and fitness of Masaaki Satake and Kiyoshi Tamura whenever he appears in Wrestle Association "R".

WAR CHAMPION OF R SERIES 2005 07/12/05

One half of The Revolution Brothers, Raimu Mishima takes on Super Shisa in this opening junior singles match. As usual, Mishima is accompanied by partner Iwasa, who is quick to intervene whenever possible. The underhanded tactics of The Revolution Brothers become too much for Shisa to handle, and Mishima hits the Powerbomb Pin to pick up the victory.

The Great Sasuke teams up with Kengo Mashimo in this junior tag match, the two not completely unfamiliar with one another. They face two members of the Do FIXER group, Darkness Dragon and Masato Yoshino. K-Ness and Yoshino work well together, and are quick to isolate Mashimo; but the experience of Sasuke gives the opposition the edge and allows Sasuke to pick up the victory for his team by hitting the Fire Thunder Powerbomb on K-Ness. Sasuke personally vouched for Mashimo after the bout, stating that he was one of the junior workers too look out for in WAR. He claimed that the field wasn't very even where the junior division was concerned in WAR though, and claimed that in 2006 he would see what he could do in order to even things out a little bit.

Accompanied to the ring by none other than Masahiro Chono, Black New Japan representative Toru Yano recieves a very negative reaction from the those within the Mie Prefectural Sun Arena, as he spits sake into the crowd. Okumura is quickly on the offence and troubles Yano throughout the match, but distractions from Chono and the intervention of a foreign object from the young New Japan representative, allow Yano to pick up the win when he hits the Nightcap on Okumura. Chono enters the ring after the match is over and along with Yano begins to beat down on Okumura, until Arashi hits the ring and makes the save. Chono told reporters backstage that Black New Japan would spread through WAR like a plague and kill it slowly.

SPWF representative Osamu Tachihikari teams up with WAR veteran Ryuma Go to take on the Heisei Ishingun team of Tatsutoshi Goto and Masashi Aoyagi. Goto and Aoyagi show great chemistry, but come into some trouble when facing the much larger Tachihikari. Goto just manages to get the win for his team however, executing a quick backdrop suplex to pick up the three count.

Maeda favourites Shibata and Murakami team up in this tag match to take on old Tenryu disciples Araya and Hirai. The speed and intensity of Shibata and Murakami turns out to be too much for the WAR alumni, as Murakami uses a cross armbreaker on Hirai to force the submission and pick up a decisive victory.

A very fast paced and exciting eight man junior tag match preceeds the main event as a Jushin Thunder Liger lead team takes on a team headed by the current WAR Junior Heavyweight Champion Milano Collection AT. Liger appears extremely aggressive in this match, showing little respect or patience for any of his opponents. The junior legends team shows superior chemistry to the opposition and manages to maintain a decent control of the match before Sugawara hits the Shiisanputa on Ito to pick up the victory for his team.

TEAM NO FEAR! 2005 reforms a few weeks after Kazuyuki Fujita claimed he no longer wished to have anything to do with the group. They take on the strong Team Takada, who look to exploit any unrest within the opposition. They find just that, when Kazuyuki Fujita is unwilling to participate in the match and refuses to enter the ring when tagged in. Fujita eventually walks off, and Team Takada quickly take advantage of the situation with Satake hitting a spinning back fist on Suzuki for the victory. Fujita told reporters afterwards that this match meant nothing to him, as he had already made clear he didn't want to team with Takayama and Suzuki anymore, regardless of what matches Tenryu books him in. Takayama and Suzuki told reporters that the actions of Fujita where disgraceful, and that they wouldn't let him off lightly for treating them like that.
