GBA

So I finally traded in my GBA for a GBA SP so I could actually see what I was playing and my love of handheld gaming is back. Now I just need some good suggestions for what to grab. I own Castlevania HoD, F-Zero Advance, Fire Pro Wrestling 2, Metroid Fusion, and Zelda Link to the Past/4 Swords. And I know the obvious titles I need to grab like the Minnish Cap and Warioware, but what are some games I'm likely to miss out on that deserve a look?

Advance Wars 1 and 2! Awesome Strategy games.

Advance Wars 2 is excellent, I jsut don't feel like playing it anymore cause I let a friend use my GBA during a free period, and the dick overwrote my save. Can't be arsed to play through again, shame really.

You have to have to HAVE TO get R-Type III, I bought it about a month ago, and I can't stop playing it. I still can't get past the first level, but still, I've not lost patience trying...

Advance Wars definitely sounds good, I'm really looking forward to reintroducing myself to 16-bit-esque RPGs. I'm really looking for a very traditional Shining Force Strategy RPG, any help there?

Fire Emblem seems to be the way to go. I've also heard good things about Golden Sun, but that seems to be the more traditional FF type RPG than Shining Force, despite being developed by the Shining Force team. Anyhoo, I also gotta get my hands on some old school Mario.

Old School Mario? If I remember right they released like all the old Marios on GBA one after another?

Also Mech Platoon is an odd but fun game, it's an RTS game for the GBA. If you like RTS games then you will like Mech Platoon.

Other games that could be worth checking out:

Castlevania & Final Fantasy Games

Mario & Donkey Kong

Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga

Guest Pirate Chasin' Booty

I've never owned a GBA, but how much would I expect to pay for a 2nd-hand standard GBA without that SP expensive sounding stuff?

EDIT: Infact, somebody just send me their old GBA.

The regular GBA eats AA batteries like they're candy. And you can't see the fucking screen for shit. I had mine for almost two years and I rarely played it cause I couldn't see what I was doing half the time. So yeah, I threw down the extra cash and got the SP and now, it looks great. So yeah, if you want a handheld, the SP is the way to go; the DS hasn't shown us it's worth the $150 yet, and the PSP is launch hardware from Sony (shudder), but the SP has a great line up of GBA and regular GameBoy games all at your disposal. Still can't beat that fuckin Nightmare in Metroid Fusion though... grrrr.

You CAN buy backlights for the original GBA (invasive and non-invasive, if you believe what you read on eBay).

And I'm ever so glad I got my AC converter for the original GBA. I can play it any time between 10am and 5pm...because otherwise I can't see what's going on. I need to get one of those backlights.
