The Hulk Hogan Saga Continues!

- The saga that we have been following over the past week is that of Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea’s attempt to legally sue World Championship Wrestling after a reported “breach of contract”. It doesn’t look like this legal issue will be settled anytime soon, as a matter of fact, it appears that Bollea and his lawyers are getting ready for a long haul. Earlier in the week we reported that WCW had asked Vince Russo to take a leave of absence from the company, if and when he will return is still iffy. As of right now, it looks as though Ed Ferrara has put in charge of creative booking within the company. Many people don’t expect this to last, as Ferrara’s attitude, and creative ideas aren’t the best. The major rumor coming out of Atlanta is that Time Warner has demanded a replacement take Russo’s place, and Ferrara be taken out of the picture permanently. This is indeed shocking to say the least. It would seem as though Time Warner is worried about this legal altercation with Bollea, and that it could indeed take a turn for the worse. We already know that WCW is floating on thin ice. If this rumor turns out to be true, we’ll keep you updated on who will in fact take over creative operations.

I think its a great idea to take Russo of television, cause I remeber as a WCW that everyone hated him after the New blood angle and Bash At The Beach,

Russo also made a lot of stupid choises after The New Blood angle and every part of 200 was exciting exceopt from the first three month,

this is a very good diary and your shows is great to

keep up the good work

Last week at Bash At The Beach, live from the Ocean Center in Dayton Beach, Florida during the WCW U.S. championship title match between the champion “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner and the challenger, it was commissioner The Cat who would order the match to end in a no contest, and the belt to stripped from Steiner. This happened right after Steiner refused not to use the steiner recliner submission on Awesome during the match. It was on Nitro that we would learn from The Cat that this Tuesday night, there would be an eight man title tournament to crown the new u.s. champion. The Cat has announced who the eight participants in the tournament will be. Mike Awesome, Positively Kanyon, Billy Kidman, Lance Storm, Vampiro, Shane Douglas, The Great Muta, and Buff Bagwell will all compete for their chance to become the next u.s. champion!

This past week on Thunder, we saw Scott Steiner brutally attack Mike Tenay during a special candied video interview between the two! Tenay would have to be rushed to a local hospital to seek medical attention. Steiner would then show up later on the telecast, live, and attack Booker T with a lead pipe during the scheduled tag-team match against “The Chosen One” Jeff Jarrett! The big bad booty daddy would appear to be on a rampage, and anywhere else he’d be behind bars. The Cat has made it abundantly clear that if Steiner so much as shows up on Nitro this Tuesday, he’ll be fired!

It was just a week ago at Bash At The Beach when Goldberg defeated Kevin Nash, and would gain control of Scott Hall’s contract with WCW. Goldberg would proceed to rip the contract into peaces, and shove it into Nash’s mouth, in the ultimate disgrace. On Nitro, Goldberg and Nash would fight in a four corners match against both Jarrett and Steiner for a shot at becoming number one contender. Neither could keep their hands off one another. This Tuesday, The Cat has dubbed it the final encounter, these two men will step in the ring one-on-one for the last time! The match will defiantly not be for the weak at heart.

On Thunder this past week, the patron saint Stevie Ray lased up his boots for what he thought would be the last time when he took on Positively Kanyon in singles action. This was what you’d call a pure grudge match, as Stevie looked for revenge after taking the kanyon-cutter on Nitro. That’s when Jeff Jarrett would show up, looking to prove a point to Booker T at the expense of his brother. Stevie would fall victim to Jarrett’s guitar! This Tuesday, thanks to The Cat, Stevie will go one-on-one with Jarrett in a bunkhouse brawl.

All this and much, much more this Tuesday night on Nitro from the TD Waterhouse Centre in Orlando, Florida.

(8:00-8:07) Nitro montage plays and the pyros hit in the arena at the TD Waterhouse Centre in Orlando, Florida. The crowd is on their feet, and red hot as we are welcomed by the announcers. Mark Madden, Scott Hudson, & Tony Schiavone recap some of the shocking events that happened last week. They then hype up tonight’s title tournament, and the anything goes match between Goldberg and Kevin Nash. There is a disturbance backstage, as we quickly head to the parking lot of the arena. Scott Steiner is seen busting out the windows of a car with his lead pipe! Stevie Ray shows up to confront him, but gets beaten down by Scott! He takes a hard shot to the stomach from the pipe, and gets tossed through one of the windows of the car! Midajah and Rick Steiner run up to confront Scott, they leave the parking lot, as Stevie is attended to by medical personnel.

“I’m the greatest” plays as The Cat is already halfway down the entrance ramp, accompanied by security guards, and he enters the ring. Cat doesn’t look pleased, and is handed a mic.

The Cat: “Steiner, I warned you about showing up on Nitro this week, but you didn’t listen. So I have no other choice but…”

Cat’s cut off in mid sentence by the all familiar sound of sirens throughout the arena. The crowd boo as Scott Steiner walks out with his lead pipe still in hand. Cat summons security to escort Scott out of the building. Scott punks the entire security force out with his lead pipe, then slides into the ring! Cat gets cornered by Scott, as he proceeds to choke him out.

Scott Steiner: “I want a world title shot, tonight!”

Cat agrees to Scott’s demands, just as “Don’t hate the player, hate the game” hits. The crowd is on their feet. Booker T comes running out from the back, and rolls into the ring. Scott swings the pipe at Booker, but he ducks. Booker and Scott exchange right hands. Jeff Jarrett comes out just as Booker catches Scott with a harlem sidekick. Booker turns, to receive a huge guitar shot! Jarrett and Scott stare one another down.

Jeff Jarrett: “No one is getting a shot at the belt before me, so you bet that it’s going to be three way dance, because the chosen one disserves it, and you can choke on that, slap nuts!”

Jarrett tosses the mic on the mat, and heads to the back. Security and medical personnel check on Booker’s condition. Jarrett and Scott continue their stare down up the entrance way, all the way backstage as we head to our first commercial break.

(8:10-8:16) Buff Bagwell arrives to the arena with his mother Judy Bagwell, who is sporting a neck brace, after being attacked last week on Thunder. They are stopped by Pamela Paulshock, who wants a few words.

Pamela Paulshock: “Marcus, last week your mother Judy was attacked by an unknown assailant, any clues on who could have done this?

Buff Bagwell: “My mother was unaware of what had happened to her, until after the attack. Tonight, I’m going to find out who could have done this, if I have to interrogate the entire locker room!”

Pamela Paulshock: “But, what about your tournament match against Lance Storm later tonight?”

Not but a few feet away, a brawl irrupts between both Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner! Security come in to separate the two. Midajah and Rick Steiner try and calm Scott down again. It would appear that these two men can’t wait to get their hands on one another!

[1st Round of WCW U.S. Title Tournament] Mike Awesome vs. Positively Kanyon: Great match to start off the show. Positively Kanyon mocks DDP throughout the entire match, getting massive boos from the crowd. Mike Awesome uses his power to gain an advantage over Kanyon. Both men end up exchanging blows at ringside. The match even spills out into the crowd, where we see Awesome fly over the steel guardrail taking out Kanyon. Awesome is jumped by an overly weight women in the crowd, which security is forced to take care of. The match finally ends up back in the ring. Kanyon grabs his “Positively Kanyon” book, and uses it as a weapon on Awesome, behind the ref’s back! He isn’t able to pick up a pin fall however. Awesome blocks an attempt at the kanyon-cutter, and follows up with an awesome splash from the top rope. It isn’t enough for the win. The two exchange blows, as Kanyon goes for a spinning clothesline on Awesome, he ducks, and hit’s the awesome bomb for the win! The fans are on their feet as Awesome’s arm is raised in victory.

Backstage, Pamela Paulshock tries to flirt with a stone faced Lance Storm before their interview.

Pamela Paulshock: “In just a few moments your set to face Buff Bagwell in one of the four first round matches.”

Lance Storm: “You know, I’m sick of all this sports entertainment crap. Tonight, it’s time to shut up and wrestle!”

Pamela Paulshock: “So you plan on winning the tournament tonight?”

Lance Storm: “That’s correct. And once I win the tournament, I’m going to rename that championship belt, the WCW Canadian Heavyweight title!”

Storm walks off camera, as Paulshock just shakes her head, and begins to laugh over that idea.

Backstage, The Cat is being looked at by an EMT, when Buff Bagwell walks by with his mother.

The Cat: “Hey Buff, do you really think it’s a good idea to keep your mother around here, it’s not the safest place, as you already know.”

Buff Bagwell: “You’ve got a point, and with my match coming up next…”

MI Smooth is seen walking by, and Cat calls him over.

The Cat: “Don’t worry about it, MI Smooth here will make sure she gets to your hotel safely.”

Buff thanks Cat, and sends his mother off with Smooth, as his match is coming up next.

(8:19-8:25) [1st Round of WCW U.S. Title Tournament] Buff Bagwell vs. Lance Storm: Decent match up between both men. Lance Storm makes his entrance first, and demands that the Canadian national anthem is played. The anthem is interrupted by Buff Bagwell to cheers from the crowd. These two exchange blows to start off the match. Bagwell goes for all his trademark moves, and continually showboats. Storm is able to capitalize halfway through the match, and locks on a sharpshooter. The hold is broken. On the nitrovision, a camera catches some activity backstage. It’s Positively Kanyon giving Judy Bagwell yet another kanyon-cutter outside the building! This distracts Bagwell long enough for Storm to nail a superkick, and pick up a quick one, two, three! Storm celebrates as Bagwell collects himself, rolls out of the ring, and hightails it to the back. It looks as though Storm will move onto the semi-finals.

Backstage, The Cat is walking down the hallway with all of the nitro girls surrounding him. He’s got a big smile on his face, when all of a sudden the flute music begins to play. The nitro girls scurry away, as out pop all three of The Jung Dragons. They continue their battle as the camera fades.

Backstage, Judy Bagwell is being attended to by medical personnel. Buff Bagwell runs up and checks on his mother’s condition.

(8:27-8:33) Scott Steiner is shown walking in the back with his trusty lead pipe in hand.

[1st Round of WCW U.S. Title Tournament] The Great Muta vs. Vampiro w/ Insane Clown Posse: Good match up between the two men. Vampiro came out dressed in the ICP face paint, and with his fellow Insane Clown Posse members by his side. The match starts out with The Great Muta having the upper hand. As the match continues, two black cloaked figures bring a coffin to ringside. Both Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J try to get involved, but get the green mist for their efforts! The match becomes even more strange, as smoke begins to bellow out around the ring. Muta becomes distracted by this, which allows Vampiro to spray a black mist. Vampiro takes another page out of Muta’s book, and gives him a shinning wizard, followed by a pin for the win! It looks like Vampiro will advantage to the semi-finals.

This dark carnival have now laid to rest the legend of The Great Muta!

Backstage, Shane Douglas and Torrie Wilson are met by Pamela Paulshock who wants to ask a few questions about tonight’s upcoming match.

Pamela Paulshock: “Tonight, you “The Franchise” Shane Douglas, is going up against Billy Kidman in the first round match of the u.s. title tournament, how do you feel?”

Shane Douglas: “Kidman has been running his mouth over the past week about how he isn’t the least bit jealous, that his ex-girlfriend is with a real man. The fact is, Kidman is jealous, extremely jealous!”

Torrie Wilson: “Late at night, when the franchise and I are in bed, Kidman will call…”

Pamela Paulshock: “How do you know that it’s him?”

Torrie Wilson: “I just know!”

Shane Douglas: “Tonight, I’ll shut Kidman up, and I’ll take him out with the most dangerous move in this sport today, the pittsburgh plunge!

Douglas and Torrie both walk off camera, leaving Pamela with a “whatever” look on her face.

Backstage, Norman Smiley and Ralphus are talking when they are jumped from behind by Jeff Jarrett. Ralphus takes a guitar shot to the head, while Norman is laid out!

(8:35-8:42) Backstage, Goldberg is shown arriving to the building in street cloths, and a duffle bag in hand.

[1st Round of WCW U.S. Title Tournament] Billy Kidman vs. Shane Douglas w/ Torrie Wilson: Decent match, nothing incredibly special. Shane Douglas and Torrie Wilson came out to cut a promo, which didn’t set well with the crowd. They went to kiss, and got interrupted. Billy Kidman would start off the match with an explosive fire of intensity. A head scissors takedown would send Douglas to ringside. Kidman wouldn’t waist time, and springboard over the top rope, taking Douglas down! The fans were on their feet as these two battled around and back into the ring. An attempt at the franchiser, but Kidman would fight his way out. Kidman nails the kid krusher, and tries to go up top for the finish, but Torrie grabs onto his foot. Douglas crotches Kidman up top, and goes for a top rope pittsburgh plunge. The announcer’s make sure to note that if Douglas did in fact hit the move, it’d surely end the career of Kidman. Douglas and Kidman both go for pin fall attempts, but aren’t able to get the three. Torrie trips Kidman up long enough for Douglas to gain the advantage with a belly-to-belly. Douglas gets a school boy on Kidman, and holds onto the tights. The ref counts, but never sees that Kidman grabbed the bottom rope, and Douglas picks up the win! Douglas and Torrie hightail it to the back as Kidman argues with the ref, who refuses to reverse his decision.

Backstage, a ladder is set up in the interview area. Evan Karagias and Shane Helms stand on the legs of the ladder, while Shannon Moore sits up on top. Pamela Paulshock joins Tank Abbott and Three Count.

Pamela Paulshock: “Last week on Nitro, The Jung Dragons would ruin the Three Count celebration party by taking your guy’s gold record.”

Tank Abbott: “That’s right.”

Pamela Paulshock: “And, earlier today, The Cat would book the three of you against The Jung Dragons at New Blood Rising in a first-ever six man double ladder match?”

Tank Abbott: “That’s right, and Three Count plan on getting back what is rightfully theirs.”

Karagias climbs down off the ladder, and joins Abbott by his side.

Evan Karagias: “We earned that gold record with many long tedious hours in the studio, and those three are running around with it. It’s a disgrace!”

Tank Abbott: “Tonight, Three Count plan on giving The Jung Dragons a little preview of their match at New Blood Rising, in a special six man ladder match!”

Abbott and Three Count grab the ladder, and take it off camera as they head down to the ring for their upcoming match.

(8:44-8:53) [six Man Ladder Match] Three Count w/ Tank Abbott vs. The Jung Dragons: Great, high flying, fast paced match between the two teams. The fans were on their feet, and red hot. A single ladder had been placed at each side of the ring. The match starts off with an exchange of offense between the two teams. Jamie-san, Kaz Hayashi, and Yang each hit separate moves on all three members of Three Count after rebounding off the ropes. Each ladder would be used during the match. I really like the direction this federation is going in. You don't bore us with mass quantity of match details, you provide great segments and angles and you colour code to what show it is. w00t!

I must warn you though. I will twat you if there's a Judy Bagwell on a Pole-That's-A-Forklift match at NBR.

yes...I decided to use previously booked matches that happened in real life, but will these matches end in the same way, will they be booked, or will the feuds happen the same way, probably not. Kanyon/Bagwell has the possiblity to be a really great match, in real life they were given a shitty storyline...

for everyone who wants to know, JUDY BAGWELL will no longer be apart of this diary in anyway!!!

Every now and again it's good to see a diary that will do the things that were laid out. Proves that while we may want to control the company at a certain point in it's existance, they still had a few ideas that we liked.

Keep it up, I like reading this.

Eric Bischoff Is Back!

- Announced earlier Tuesday afternoon, a major creative shake up would be made within World Championship Wrestling, thanks to the executives at Time Warner. This was due in a large part, because of the entire Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea scandal at Bash At The Beach just last week. It’s evidently clear that Bollea intends to take legal actions against WCW. At the request of those same executives, they thought it’d be a wise decision to remove Vince Russo from all creative operations. It would have appeared that Ed Ferrara would take the place of Russo as head write, but not many people are comfortable with Ferrara in complete control of all storylines, and character development. The question would be, who would replace the loss of Russo? This is when it was announced that Time Warner would bring back the man that single handedly made WCW a force several years ago, Eric Bischoff! At this point, Bischoff would only take control of backstage political decisions within the company, as far as the creative process, several names will be brought in over the next several weeks.

Is Booker T Making It As Champ?

- Everyone says that it was finally time that Booker T got the shot that he disserved by capturing the WCW World Heavyweight championship at Bash At The Beach from “The Chosen One” Jeff Jarrett just a week ago. The question is, can Booker make it as champion? It would seem that he could just do that, and help turn WCW around in the process. Many view Booker as a fighting champion, and that’s just the way he would like to be remembered too. How long will we see gold around Booker’s waist, who knows, but we can be sure that the quality of matches, and fresh storylines that Booker brings to the table will surely help the company in the long run!

Last night on a special Tuesday edition of Nitro, from the TD Waterhouse Centre in Orlando, Florida, a deadly alliance would be formed by “The Chosen One” Jeff Jarrett and “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner. It looked as though these would had hatred for one another, until the big bad booty daddy would show up, and attack the WCW World Heavyweight champion, Booker T from behind during a special three way dance booked earlier in the night by commissioner The Cat! These two would continue their rampage until Booker’s brother Stevie Ray, who was brutally attacked earlier in the night by Steiner, would make the save! What does this ungodly alliance mean for the champion and the rest of WCW?

In a one night eight man tournament, a new WCW Canadian Heavyweight champion would be crowned. It would be a night of surprises. Positively Kanyon turned out to be the attacker of Buff Bagwell’s mother, The Great Muta would be a sacrifice to the dark carnival, and join forces with Vampiro, and a feud would be sparked between Billy Kidman and “The Franchise” Shane Douglas. The biggest shock of the night however would be during the Lance Storm and Mike Awesome match in the finals of the tournament when Storm got the win, and become the new U.S. champion! Earlier in the night, Storm mentioned that he was going to win gold for Canada, and that’s just what he did, in fact out of respect for his homage, he declared the belt the Canadian Heavyweight championship.

This week on Thunder, Buff Bagwell and Mike Awesome will team together to take on Positively Kanyon and the newly crowned WCW Canadian Heavyweight champion, Lance Storm in tag-team action. Last night on Nitro, The Cat would book Bagwell in a special grudge match against Kanyon at New Blood Rising, as a way to gain revenge over what has been done to his mother! Awesome would lose in his match against Storm during the eight man title tournament, in what many would call a match of the night. Tonight, these two teams will meet in the ring.

All this and much, much more this Wednesday night on Thunder from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.

I love Lance Storm, and I love the Canadian Heavyweight Title. Hopefully you run with the same angle where he completely dominated the WCW title scene, because I think Storm could have made it pretty far in WCW had it not been bought out.

Who’s The Man Behind The Mask?

- The question going around the wrestling world right now is, who is the masked man who attacked Kevin Nash during the “final confrontation” match against Goldberg on this past Tuesday’s edition of Nitro? It was indeed the highest rated segment of the show, and surprisingly topped the first hour of Raw Is War. Is there an answer? This past weekend news broke out about Scott Hall still being under contract with World Championship Wrestling, but did they in fact release information on Hall being checked into rehab to throw the fans, and unwilling internet marks off? It’ll surely help WCW continue the feud between Goldberg and Nash which is clearly not over heading into the next big show on pay-per-view, New Blood Rising. As always, we’ll keep you the fans updated on further news as it breaks on this situation.

(9:00-9:12) Recap of what happened this past Tuesday. The Thunder montage plays as the pyros hit throughout the American Airlines Arena, the crowd is on their feet as the camera cuts to an overhead view of the building. Mike Tenay, Scott Hudson, and Tony Schiavone welcome us to the show, and talk about all the events that happened this past week on Nitro. They mention that a special interview was conducted earlier today with Kevin Nash, to get his reaction of losing just twenty-four hours ago against Goldberg, thanks to help from an unknown mystery assailant. The main event has been announced, and it’ll be Harlem Heat taking on Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner in tag-team action! Jarrett and Steiner are both shown walking into the arena. They are accompanied by Steiner’s freak Midajah. This dangerous alliance between these two men could be just what Jarrett needs to gain the advantage going into New Blood Rising. The announcer’s continue to talk as we head into our first match of the evening.

[singles Match] Crowbar w/ Daffney vs. Skip over: Great match between both men. Crowbar and Skip over seem to really connect during their match. Daffney is at ringside the entire time to scream her head off. These two battle back and forth with some fast pace, highflying action. Crowbar gets hung up, and Skip over hit’s a walk on the ropes, into a hurricanrana. A couple pin fall attempts by both men. Skip over goes for a death valley driver, but Crowbar reverses it into a roll up. Crowbar slingshot himself back into the ring, and nails a leg drop on Skip over. He goes to the top rope, and sets up for a moonsault, but Skip over slips up between Crowbar’s legs, and nails a powerbomb off the top rope! It isn’t enough to get the three count. Skip over begins to get frustrated. Crowbar goes for a clothesline, but Skip over ducks by using some type of matrix maneuver. Skip over isn’t able to get his way out of a mindbender from Crowbar, which gives him the one, two, three! Crowbar and Daffney celebrate after the match.

The Cat: “Does this have anything to do with a certain someone backstage?”

The Artist: “Who does that Kwiwi character think he is?”

The Cat: “Is there something you want?”

The Artist: “I want a shot to prove myself, tonight!”

The Cat: “It just so happens, I’ve got a spot for you.”

The Artist: “Really, against who?”

The Cat: “You’ll face Lieutenant Loco, for the cruiserweight championship!”

Artist gets a big smile on his face, thanks Cat, and walks out of the room. The nitro girls walk back into the room, and surround Cat once again.

Ms. Hancock: “I got you booked in a match tonight, and I know you can win.”

The Cat: “You know what, I’m feeling generous tonight.”

Cat pulls a pebble out of his pocket, and holds it out on the palm of his hand.

The Cat: “If you can get this pebble out of my hand, I’ll give you your…”

Lane grabs the pebble out of Cat’s hand before he even finishes talking.

The Cat: “I wasn’t finished! Now, if you can grab this pebble out of my hand, you’ve got your job back.”

Again, Lane grabs the pebble out of Cat’s hand as quick as he can! Lane starts to get excited.

The Cat: “You know what, you still don’t have your job back, now someone better call my momma!”

Lane freaks out, and starts yelling at Cat as he’s escorted out of the office by security.

[Tables Match] David Flair w/ Ms. Hancock vs. Sergeant A-WOL w/ Major Gunns: Not a good match. There was nothing but miscommunication from the start. Sergeant A-WOL would bring down several tables at the beginning. David Flair would try and do everything he could to get an advantage over A-WOL, but nothing worked. A-WOL would use his strength, and power on Flair. A table would be set up at ringside, and A-WOL would set up to chokeslam Flair over the top rope, but that didn’t go as planned. Flair would land on the ring apron, but still break the table with his foot. Major Gunns and Ms. Hancock would get into a catfight at ringside which the fans would turn their attention too. Flair makes his way back into the ring, and tries to attack A-WOL from behind. A-WOL sees the attack coming, and hit’s the chokeslam! A-WOL sets a table up, lays Flair on top, heads to the top rope, and goes for a splash. Flair rolls off the table, and A-WOL goes through it. The bell sounds, and the match is over! Even though technically the person must put their opponent through the table. The ref raises Flair’s arm in victory. Security has to pull both Hancock and Gunns off of each other at ringside.

Lance Storm: “When I’m looking at these names, it makes me sick. That’s why I renamed the belt the canadian heavyweight championship!”

Scott Hudson: “This was after you were attacked by the mystery masked man?”

Kevin Nash: “Goldberg knew he wouldn’t be able to beat me clean, just like at Bash At The Beach, he had to have help.”

Scott Hudson: “Any ideas on who the mystery man was?”

Kevin Nash: “Whoever it was, if they even try to step in the ring with me again, it’ll be career ending!”

Scott Hudson: “What about your unfinished business with Goldberg?”

Kevin Nash: “I’m not finished with Goldberg by a long shot, due to the outside interference during our match, I demand a rematch!”

Scott is tagged in, and goes to work on Booker. He connects with a diving reverse ddt on Booker, but the pin fall is broken up. Jarrett and Scott both keep Booker in their corner, and continually double team him. Booker is finally able to fight his way out of the corner, and makes the hot tag. Stevie is in to clean house, but is soon overwhelmed by both Jarrett and Scott. Booker is back in, but quickly taken down by Jarrett, who locks on the figure four leglock. The submission is wrenched in, but Booker is able to reverse it, and break the hold. Jarrett goes for the stroke, but Booker reverses it into a kick to the gut. Booker comes off the ropes, and nails the axe kick! Scott comes in and attacks Booker from behind. The ref is distracted by Scott, while Jarrett grabs his guitar. Booker stumbles to his feet, and just as Jarrett swings, Stevie pushes his brother out of the way to take the hit! Jarrett goes for a clothesline on Booker, but gets hit with the Book End! Booker hooks the leg, and gets the one, two, three win. After the match, Scott Steiner grabs his lead pipe, and smashes it across the back of Booker! Stevie is still out cold due to a shot from the guitar. Scott raps the pipe around Booker’s neck while he locks on the steiner recliner in the center of the ring! Security comes running out from the back, and has to pry Scott off of Booker as Thunder fades to the black.

This week, Nitro will air live from the Sheraton Hotel in S. Padre Island, Texas. It was just last week that Lance Storm won the one night eight man title tournament to become what he claims is now the WCW Canadian Heavyweight championship title. Last week, we also saw one of the most dangerous alliances ever formed between “The Chosen One” Jeff Jarrett and “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner when they attempted to destroy the WCW World Heavyweight champion Booker T! Stevie Ray would come to the aid of his brother, which would set up the tag-team reunion of Harlem Heat on Thunder. Goldberg and Kevin Nash also fought in an anything goes final encounter, which would see a mystery unknown assailant attack “Big Sexy”, that would allow Goldberg to pick up the victory! WCW.com has learned that Nash will be at Nitro, live, and he has revenge on his mind…

The tag-team division has been nonstop carnage for the past several weeks. We’ve seen confrontations between the young up and comers Mark Jindrak and Sean O’Haire, former world tag-team champions Chuck Palumbo and Shawn Stasiak of The Perfect Event, Corporal Cajun and General Rection of the Misfits In Action, and The Filthy Animals! Last week on Thunder, an all out brawl would erupt backstage that would force commissioner The Cat to book all four teams in a huge four team caged heat elimination match for Nitro! There is no telling what will happen when these four teams set foot inside the steel cage, but it’s one match you won’t want to miss.

It was on Thunder that we would learn of a new match added to New Blood Rising that takes place on Sunday, August 13th, live from the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Misfits In Action’s own Major Gunns will take on Ms. Hancock in a grueling “Rip Off The Camouflage” match! This week on Nitro, we’ll get a taste of that match, when Gunns will team up with M.I.A. own Sergeant A-WOL to take on Hancock and David Flair in mixed tag-team action!

In a rematch from Bash At The Beach, Lieutenant Loco of the Misfits In Action will defend his WCW Cruiserweight championship against Juventud Guerrera of The Filthy Animals! Lt. Loco was able successfully defend the belt on pay-per-view just two weeks ago, will he be able to do the same again? Juvi Guerrera will look to bring gold to The Filthy Animals in this contest, which will surely be a match you won’t want to miss!

Tune in this week on Monday night Nitro, at 7/8 CT; live on TNT to watch it all unfold.

The New Blood Has Arrived!

- The new blood has arrived in World Championship Wrestling. It couldn’t be a happier time for the company, as the confrontations between the WCW World Heavyweight champion Booker T and “The Chosen One” Jeff Jarrett draw in new fans. The question is, is it to late for an improvement? It’s no secrete that the backstage politics have hurt the company over the past several weeks, but ever seen Booker’s win at Bash At The Beach, it seems to have helped development, and proven to draw in a slightly larger number of fans. This is indeed a make or break time for the company as they head into New Blood Rising on pay-per-view, that’s just around the corner. Will we continue to see a rise in the next couple of weeks, or is this just a slight improvement, with no hope in WCW’s future?

Worldwide On TBS!

- World Championship Wrestling has decided to move their weekly syndicated show entitled Worldwide to TNT’s sister network TBS the Superstation. This move was made by Time Warner executives, in an attempt to help fill vacant spots on the network, not filled by other programs. Worldwide will now air early morning at around 10:00 a.m., and 7:00 p.m. in the evening on Saturday. Many don’t expect this to be a wise move, but it won’t effect WCW’s budget, and it will also help try and improve competition for World Wrestling Federation’s “b” show Heat on the USA Network. WCW will also begin to air a replay of Thunder on Saturday at 1:00 a.m. on the Superstation, which won’t be anything new, as they already air a replay of Nitro, Monday at midnight. In place of Worldwide on the syndicated networks, WCW will begin to air a weekly recap show that will begin in the fall.

(8:00-8:10) The Worldwide montage plays, as we head into the studio with Bobby Heenan and Mike Tenay. They recap the events of what happened earlier in the week, as well as some things that happened at Bash At The Beach. Tenay makes mention that it’s the Booker T era now that he’s champion, and it’s fresh to see. Heenan and Tenay argue for a couple of minutes before they talk about the confrontation between Goldberg and Kevin Nash. Who was the mystery assailant that attacked Nash, they also talk about that as well.

(8:14-8:26) Backstage, Mean Gene Okerlund stands by with the WCW Tag-Team champions Brian Adams and Bryane Clarke of Kronic. They both stand on opposite sides of Okerlund during the interview.

Mean Gene Okerlund: “You two will be in action later tonight, is that correct?”

Brian Adams: “We’re going to go out there and bust some heads!”

Bryan Clarke: “That’s what we do best.”

Brian Adams: “It won’t be a fare contest, for that to happen, it’d have to be 8-on-2!”

Bryan Clarke: “We’re going out there to snap some necks, and cash our checks!”

Adams and Clarke both walk off camera to leave Okerlund standing alone.

[singles Match] Ashley Hudson vs. Buff Bagwell: Not a shockingly good match. In the end, the crowd start to not even care about this one. Buff Bagwell would hit everyone of his signature moves on Ashley Hudson, which included the double under hook ddt, followed by the buff blockbuster from the second rope for the win! The ref raises Bagwell’s arm in victory, as he celebrates post-match.

The announcer’s talk about Vampiro and his ever so growing dark carnival. The Great Muta was the last victim of his to join the dark side. They make mention of the mind games being played on Vampiro, and that he challenged Sting to show himself this week on Nitro!

Footage from The Great American Bash: Vampiro d. Sting, he falls 45 feet on fire from the top of the turnertron!

(8:31-8:45) [singles Match] Corporal Cajun w/ Major Gunns vs. Mike Sanders: Decent match up between the two. In the end, we saw “Above Average” Mike Sanders with an advantage over the Misfits In Action’s own Corporal Cajun. Sanders would get a school boy, and hold onto the tights, but it wouldn’t be enough for the three count. Cajun nails Sanders with a top rope rocker dropper for the one, two, three! Major Gunns joins Cajun in the ring, and they celebrate the win.

(8:48-9:02) The announcer’s hype New Blood Rising, and run down the card for the event. Bobby Heenan talks a little about this weeks Nitro, and how jam packed of an event it’s going to be with the huge caged heat elimination match! They talk more about Booker T and Jeff Jarrett, and hype their match at NBR for the title.

[Tag-Team Match] Corey Williams & James Storm vs. Kronic: Decent match between both teams. Short and sweet, just the way it should have been. The fans were totally behind Brian Adams and Bryan Clarke of Kronic. They quickly overpowered the two jobbers to start things off. James Storm would show a little offense, but would fall victim to a meltdown from Clarke! Adams and Clarke set Corey Williams up, and deliver the high time! Kronic pick up the victory.
