SummerSlam Preview

World Heavyweight Title Elimination Chamber Match

Batista © vs. Booker T vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Christian vs. John Bradshaw Layfield vs. Muhammad Hassan

-At The Great American Bash Batista defeated JBL to retain the World Heavyweight Title, but during the match Brock Lesnar interfered and showed that he was back in the WWE. Earlier that night Christian beat Randy Orton to become the Number One Contender. So the match was set for SummerSlam and it would be Batista vs. Christian or not. Booker T then complained on Smackdown! and got a match against Christian and won the match to get in the match. Later that night JBL complained saying that he should get a rematch. So the match was now a four way, but you couldn’t forget about Lesnar. So that made it a five way until Muhammad Hassan came out and made Teddy Long make it Smackdown’s! first ever Elimination Chamber Match. The next week Smackdown! held a Beat the Clock for each competitor and the order of coming in the Elimination Chamber came to JBL, Christian, Hassan, Booker T, Batista, and then Brock Lesnar. Finally on the last Smackdown! before SummerSlam there was a Triple Main Event. In Part 1 Batista defeated Christian, in Part 2 Booker T defeated Muhammad Hassan and in Part 3 Brock Lesnar defeated JBL. So everything was set for the Elimination Chamber and all six men are confident on winning this match, but who will be the one walking out as champion or will Batista retain the gold?

WWE Heavyweight Title Match

Chris Jericho vs. John Cena ©

-When John Cena was drafted to RAW everything was cool between him and Chris Jericho as he was a guest on the Highlight Reel, but once the two tagged in a match together, Jericho turned on Cena. Then at Vengeance John Cena retained his title not only against Chris Jericho, but also against Christian. As the weeks went on Bischoff got more and more upset with Cena as champion as did Jericho. Cena did something about it to Jericho as he FU’d him four straight weeks in a row. The fifth week then came and there was a Six Man Tag Team Match where Cena tapped out to the Ankle Lock and HBK tapped out to the Walls of Jericho. Then it finally came to the last RAW where it was Pick Your Poison. Chris Jericho had to face Shawn Michaels and he won the match by cheating. John Cena had to face Kurt Angle, but Cena won by DQ when Jericho interfered. So Jericho was happy as was Bischoff at the end of the night. So will Cena be able to fight of Chris Jericho and upset him and Bischoff or will Jericho be back on top of the WWE as will Bischoff be happy once again?

Casket Match

Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker

-It all started at WrestleMania when Randy Orton, the so called Legend Killer said that he would kill The Undertaker Legend and also his streak at WrestleMania. Well Orton was wrong and the fans liked what they saw when they watched The Undertaker beat Randy Orton. From WrestleMania it really went down from there for Orton as he sustained a shoulder injury. Orton then made his return on Smackdown! by debuting when he RKO’d The Undertaker. Orton then returned to the ring right before The Great American Bash. At the Bash he cost The Undertaker his match so then Taker cost Orton his match. That is where the challenge was made by Orton. Taker accepted the challenge and said that the match would be a Casket Match. Now at SummerSlam the two will collide once again, but this time you are going to have to put your opponent in the Casket then close the lid to be victorious. Will The Undertaker beat Orton once again, but this time in his kind of match or will the Legend Killer be able to close the lid on The Undertaker?

2 out of 3 Falls Match

Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels

-This started all the way back at Royal Rumble when Kurt Angle was already eliminated and then took out his anger on HBK and eliminated him. The two were on separate brands, but somehow they would find ways to attack each other. Then WrestleMania came and Kurt Angle made Shawn Michaels tap out. Then the feud was really dead, but once Angle got drafted to RAW the two had a rematch at Vengeance and HBK took that match to tie up the series at one. After Vengeance the feud wasn’t over yet as the two continued fighting each and every RAW until Bischoff made the third and final match. Finally two weeks before SummerSlam, Kurt Angle announced that the match would be a 2 out of 3 Falls Match to finish the feud. HBK says after this feud is over he will be going for one more title run and then maybe go and face Hulk Hogan. Will The Heartbreak Kid show Angle that he is The Icon or will Angle show why HBK should have not messed with the Olympic Hero?

Number One Contender’s Match

The Big Show w/Danny Basham vs. Triple H w/Ric Flair

-This all started with Danny Basham’s Open Challenge when Ric Flair challenged Danny and Basham wound up winning. The next week on RAW Danny fought Triple H, but before their match Danny and Big Show made a friendship. Danny won this match by DQ. The next week Danny and Triple H had a rematch, but it was a No DQ match, but Triple H picked up the victory here. These four guys weren’t done yet though as the four men fought in a Tag Team Match and The Big Show and Danny Basham came out victorious. On the next edition of RAW all four men were on the Highlight Reel and Chris Jericho announced this match. Finally last week on RAW Ric Flair fought Danny in a rematch and Flair won by distraction from Triple H. Now this match should be a huge brawl not only with Show and HHH, but maybe also with Flair and Danny. Will The Big Show shows that he is better then The Game or will Triple H be back and going for the WWE Heavyweight Title?

United States Title Fatal Four Way Match

Chris Benoit © vs. Doug Basham vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Orlando Jordan w/Tyrece Banks

-Chris Benoit defeated Orlando Jordan at The Great American Bash to become the new United States Champion. On the night of the Bash Doug Basham fought Booker T for the Number One Contender spot and Doug won. So the match was set for Chris Benoit vs. Doug Basham, but then coming to the next Smackdown! Benoit faced Eddie with the title on the line, but Benoit retained. The next week Eddie thought he should be in this match so Eddie fought Doug and if he won the match he would be able to be in the match Eddie wound up winning so the match turned into a Triple Threat Match until Orlando Jordan complained saying that he should get a rematch. For OJ to get in the match he would have to beat JBL. That night Jordan got a new manager by the name of Tyrece Banks and him and Batista helped OJ come to a victory to make the match a Fatal Four Way. It looks as if Jordan has the advantage since getting his new manager, Tyrece Banks, but there is still two other men, so will Benoit will be able to fight everyone off and retain?

Grudge Match

Edge w/Lita vs. Matt Hardy

-Matt Hardy was fired from the WWE a while back, but then Matt came back in the Edge vs. Kane Cage Match. Matt climbed the Cage and hit a Leg Drop on Edge to make Kane win. The next week on RAW Matt Hardy was supposed to team with Kane to face Edge and Gene Snitsky, but Matt still wasn’t aloud in the WWE. The match turned into a Handicap Match, but Matt showed up during the match and still attacked Matt. Then the next week Edge went to challenge Matt Hardy until Vince came out and said that Matt was back in the WWE and was facing Edge at SummerSlam, but if he lost to Edge he wouldn’t be able to come back. RAW then actually was able to hold the tag team match the next week and Matt and Edge won the match. Now this storyline was very personal until Matt came back to the WWE and made it a huge deal. So will Edge put Matt back out of the WWE again or will Matt get his revenge on both Edge and Lita?

Cruiserweight Title Triple Threat Elimination Match

-Juventud Guerrera won the Cruiserweight Championship fair and square from Paul London at The Great American Bash. Two weeks after the Bash a 10 Man Cruiserweight Open was held to declare the Number One Contender. The last two competitors were London and Kazarian. Juvi came down to the ring and clocked both men with his title while the ref was distracted, but the problem was that both men fell into a double pin so the match ended in a draw and Juvi couldn’t believe it. The next week on Smackdown! London and Kazarian fought to see who would become Number One Contender, but this time they drew again, but on a double count out. Finally the last Smackdown! before the Slam Teddy Long announced that the match would be a Triple Threat Elimination Match since Kazarian and London couldn’t finish a match. Juvi doesn’t like it at all, but he is going to have to fight if he wants to keep his Cruiserweight Title. So will Juvi be able to fight off two other men, will London be able to recapture his title or will the Future be now for Kazarian?

Intercontinental Title Fatal Four Way Ladder Match

Carlito © vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Shelton Benjamin

-A while back Chavo Guerrero beat Shelton Benjamin to get a shot at the IC Title, but still lost. RVD was also on Carlito’s Cabana once again, but this time RVD attacked Carlito. RVD challenged Carlito to a match at SummerSlam, but then Eric Bischoff came down. Bischoff announced that it would be a Fatal Four Way Ladder Match for the IC Title and announced who was in it. Then he said that he would hold something so all the opponents of Carlito could get to know each other better. So about four weeks ago Chavo fought Shelton and lost. The next week Chavo fought RVD and lost. So overall Chavo went 0-2. Then it came down to RVD and Shelton and Benjamin came out with the win to be 2-0 and make RVD 1-1. Then the last RAW before SummerSlam there was a tag team match with Shelton and RVD teaming against Carlito and Chavo. RVD and Benjamin had some problems together as did Carlito and Chavo, but Carlito was able to pick up the cheap win for his team when Shelton had enough of RVD. So will Carlito be able to fight of the three men, or will one of his opponents come up with the IC Title?
