Problem With Photoshop

Make sure you're viewing at 100%, or 50% or 150% or a multiple like that, if you're viewing at 33% or another odd number, the pixels get thrown out and it looks wierd.

hmm could you post a screencap of the problem. either what Keith said is happeneing or maybe you have a layer effect own. I'll be able to tell better with a screen

Hmmm... I believe that's the problem as it seems to be working now.

Another question though: how do you create something, like say a rectangle that has the black borders but the inside of it is transparent?

Look on the layers tab, change the FILL to 0%

Actually, doing that has brought up the original problem. Click on the picture to see.

You're creating it with the shape tool, which is aliased, use the marquee tool, the one in the top left. looks like a dotted square.

try going to view - and uncheck extras. might be you have slices turned on.

to create a rectangle with a black border and transparent center - do the following. First create a new layer then create your selection using the rectangle selection tool. now go to edit - stroke and set the settings as you like
