The Final Showdown

OK, here's a fun query.

Let's say there's a massive gaming tournament. The winner gets a million dollars. Each round, a different game is played, and the games range from all genres and consoles and PCs.

First: Which game would be exemplify fair competition in each genre? By which I mean, which game is the best for competition in FPS, RTS, TBS, etc.? Be sure to add in any other games you think every gamer should be able to compete in... Super Smash Bros, for example.

Second: The more fun and immediate question, which game should be in the final round? When it comes down to two people, which is the best game that truly shows who has the greater skills?

Here are my lists:

FPS: Deathmatch Classic (Half-Life Mod)

RTS: Warcraft III

TBS: Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri

Fighting: Street Fighter II and Super Smash Bros. Melee

Driving: Burnout: Revenge and Mario Kart DS

Platformer: Sonic 2 Race Mode

Flight Sim: Crimson Skies

The final battle should be in Street Fighter II.

For the final showdown I'd have to say Virtual Fighter 4. it takes dedication and practice to master that game

I would say the best final round game would have to be either:

A) Guitar Hero (on expert mode of course)

or

B) An intense one on one game of : PONG (the original, not the ps1 remake)
