EP and LP?

An EP has half or less than half the songs of a usual album and LP is a "full" album of songs.

It comes from the Vinyl record days. Where EP stands for Extended Play and LP is Long Play.

Basically it means that but with EP's you get less songs usually 5 or 6

LP's are albums.

Like my new EP of Halitosis (Aussie Indy band who I continue to plug mercilessly)

Usually EPs are used as a band's first release (probably before they are signed or right after they are, a sort of demo for the public) and then tracks from the EP will often appear on the first or second LP released from a band.
