New Evanescence

So I had a chance to meet a rep from Wind-Up today who brought in the new Evanescence track "Call Me When You're Sober." Probably won't be hitting the air until August at the earliest, but holy shit. If you were at all worried about Moody's departure from the band, stop. If this song is what the rest of the album is going to be like, then Moody was holding them back. It is hands-down amazing and is the first time I've gotten chills from listening to music since "Why Do You Love Me" from Garbage came out last year. Seriously, be keeping your ears open for it, it's amazing.

If you had to compare it to be a previous Evanscence track (not necessarily one from Fallen) what would you liken it to? Massive Evanscence fan here (so much so that I came oh so close to shelling out $300 for Origin).

It's far less poppy than anything on Fallen. It starts off pretty slow with just Amy singing and playing piano and then the hard rock riffs kick in. Kinda "Bring Me to Life"-ish, but like I said, without that poppy, safe sound. It is a rock song through and through. It's kinda hard to remember it now since I've just listened to a ton of new music today, and I only listened to "Call Me When You're Sober" once to heighten my anticipation for when the single drops. I like to torture myself like that.

Got to agree with TMTCT. Stuff like Missing, You, Anywhere, My Immortal, Hello, Before the Dawn are better than they're rockier stuff. A lot of their rock stuff sounds the same to me, but since I like the sound, it's not terrible.
