Most Bizarre Lyrics?

These arent the most bizarre lyrics, but still are pretty weird.

In the town where I was born

Lived a man who sailed to sea

And he told us of his life

In the land of submarines

So we sailed up to the sun

Till we found the sea of green

And we lived beneath the waves

In our yellow submarine

We all live in a yellow submarine

Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

We all live in a yellow submarine

Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

And our friends are all on board

Many more of them live next door

And the band begins to play

We all live in a yellow submarine

Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

We all live in a yellow submarine

Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

[Full speed ahead, Mr. Parker, full speed ahead!

Full speed over here, sir!

Action station! Action station!

Aye, aye, sir, fire!

Heaven! Heaven!]

As we live a life of ease (A life of ease)

Everyone of us (Everyone of us) has all we need (Has all we need)

Sky of blue (Sky of blue) and sea of green (Sea of green)

In our yellow (In our yellow) submarine (Submarine, ha, ha)

We all live in a yellow submarine

Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

We all live in a yellow submarine

Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

We all live in a yellow submarine

Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

We all live in a yellow submarine

Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

Oh, and as far as Patton I'll also cite "Edge of the World" by Faith No More. It's not really that bizarre lyrically, I guess, but the concept is fucking weird.

It's not that weird, it's pretty much just a song about a guy who's attracted to a girl much younger than him.

I read an interview with Mike Patton in Plan B this month, where he said that he feels his lyrics have got progressively worse the more music he's recorded, and that the way he tends to write lyrically is just to make baby noises and phonetic "non-words" over the music, and then work out what real words will fit afterwards, which is why a lot of his stuff is fairly bizarre, especially in Fantomas (where a lot of the time he didn't even bother using real words) and in Mr. Bungle.

I don't know about weird lyrics, though...there's some stuff on "He Poos Clouds" by Final Fantasy which is really deep and meaningful when you read into it, but on the surface is just bizarre. Stuff like "Gotta rescue Michael from the White Witch! Gotta find and kill my shadow self! Gotta dig up every secret seashell!", for example.

One of my favourite ludicrous lyrics is still "Ziggy played for time, jiving us that we were Voodoo" from Ziggy Stardust, though.

Well.. yeah.

I'd call a song about a guy who's attracted to a girl much younger than him "fucking weird", conceptually. Who else writes piano ballads about pedos? :P

Leading on from the Mars Volta suggestions (or leading backwards I suppose), I always found ATDI lyrics to be pretty bizarre. Very poetic, but half the time I had no idea what he was on about.

"Invalid Litter Dept."

intravenously polite it was the walkie-talkies

that had knocked the pins down

as their shoes gripped the dirt floor

in the silhouette of dying

dancing on corpses' ashes

yeah, they had plans for him

they has spun the last of the pimps

polyester, satin nailed jewelry lips

while the guillotine just laughed again

dancing on the corpses' ashes

paramedics fell into the wound

like a rehired scab at a barehanded plant

an anesthetic penance beneath

the hail of contraband

they had been defected and excommunicated

and all the pulses were subverted

and they made sure the obituaries

showed pictures of smoke stacks

a vivid dissection that mocked

the strut of vivisection

semi-automatic colonies

and a silencing that still walks the streets

in the company of wolves

was a stretcher made of

cobblestone curfews

the federales performed

their custodial customs quite well

callous heels

numbed in travel

endless maps made

by their scalpels

on my way

nails broke and fell

into the

wishing well

I've also always found the RHCP to have bizarre (almost stupid at some points) lyrics.

"Mellowship Slinky In B Major"

I've got a mellowship, I've got a fellowship

I've got a nonstop "yo swan" hello chip

Born to adore the big bad bison

Thunderstorm and a man like Tyson

Popcorn peanuts lookin' at big butts

No I can not keep my mouth shut

Rockin' to the beat of the fabulous forum

My Lakers I adore 'em

Blush my lady when I tell her

The I do indeed love to smell her

Sopping wet your pink umbrella

Do the dog with Isabella

I'm so in love yes with an artist

Imagination, he's the smartest

Robert Williams, stroke and splatter

I attest to your gray matter

Living kings how true it rings

These are just a few of my favorite things

Good God where's my sleigh

Good God playing for days

Good God any day now

Good God take me away

Good God purple haze

Good God the baddest of brains

Good God anyday now

Good God ridin' my sleigh now

Being that I'm the duke of my domain

My hat goes off to Mark Twain

Singing a song about what true men don't do

Killing another creature that's kind of blue

Writing about the world of the wild coyote

Good man Truman Copote

Talking about my throughts 'cuase they must grow

Cock my brain to shoot my load

I'm on the porch 'cause I lost my housekey

Pick up my book I read Bukowski

Can I get another kiss from you

Kiss me right here on my tattoo

[repeat 1st half of Good God section]

Good God DeNiro's insane

Good God rackin' my brain

Good God anyday now

Good God take me away now take me away

Me my friends and the sex machine

Do unto others like my brother Bean

I know you've got a mother

So give her a hug

I know you've got a mother

With a whole lot of love

Billy sings and Basie swings

These are just a few of my favorite things

So yeah, I'm sure there are others too.

I suppose, but Patton writes a lot of songs about sexual deviancy, so in context it's not that weird, really.

So you're saying because he does it often it's not weird? :P If I go out and bang a few 13 year old boys routinely, is it not weird? :P

Hahaha, no, it's still weird, but in context of it being Patton, it doesn't come under "bizarre" as such. He's written much more bizarre lyrics than that. That and it's fairly straight, when I think "bizarre lyrics" I think more along lines of abstract lyrics, rather than lyrics about weird things.

G.G. Allin was pretty weird in a shocking and disgusting sort of way, especially songs describing diarreha in detail. Some of his spoken word pieces are fairly abstract and odd, almost coming off as these brilliant but somewhat incoherent ramblings.

The Monks wrote some strange lyrics as well, stuff like Higgle-Dy Piggle-Dy and Drunken' Maria were fairly odd. The Monks were great all around though.

On top of strange music, Geza-X had strange lyrics as well. I love his work though, it's absolutely brilliant. His most bizarre to me rate as Hungarian and The Paranoids Are Coming.

Bob Dylan. Especially circa 1965-66, the "thin wild mercury" albums Bringing it All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisisted, and Blonde on Blonde. Some of the songs are more understandable than others, but some of them are just plain obtuse and difficult to decipher. Not that that's the point, of course.

Same with some of the stuff on Desire, actually, that's some weird and obtuse stuff in places.

'Tombstone Blues' by Bob Dylan

The sweet pretty things,

Are on dread now's course,

The city fathers are trying,

To endorse,

The reincarnation of Paul Revere's horse,

But the town has no need,

To be nervous.

The ghost of Belle Star,

She hands down her wits,

To Jezebel the nun,

She violently knits,

A bald wig for Jack the Ripper,

Who sits at the head of the Chamber of Commerce.

Chorus

Momma's in the factory she ain't got no shoes,

Daddy's in the alley he's lookin' for food,

I'm in the kitchen with the Tombstone Blues.

The hysterical bride,

In the penny arcade,

Screaming she moans,

I have just been made!

Then sends out for the doctor,

Who pulls down the shade,

And says my advice is to not let the boys in.

Now the medicine man comes,

And he shuffles inside,

He walks with a swagger,

And he says to the bride,

Stop all this weeping,

Swallow your pride,

He will not die,

It's not poison.

Chorus

Well John the Baptist,

After torturing a thief,

Looks up at his hero,

The commander-in-chief,

Saying tell me great hero,

But please make it brief,

Is there a hole for me to get sick in?

The commander-in-chief answers him,

While chasing a fly,

Saying death to all those,

Who would whimper and cry,

And dropping a bar-bell,

He points to the sky,

Saying the sun's not yellow,

It's chicken.

Chorus

The King of the Philistines,

His soul just a-saved,

Puts jawbones on their tombstones,

And flattens their graves,

Puts the Pied Pipers in prison,

And fattens the slaves,

And sends them out,

To the jungle.

Gypsy Davy with a blowtorch,

He burns out their camps,

With his faithful slave Pedro,

Behind him he tramps,

With a fantastic collection of stamps,

To win friends and influence his uncle.

Chorus

The geometry of innocent flesh on the bone,

Causes Gallileo's math-book to get thrown,

At Delilah who's sitting,

Worthlessly alone,

But the tears on her cheeks are from laughter.

I wish I could give brother Bill his great thrill,

I would set him in chains at the top of the hill,

And send out for some pillars,

And Cecil B. DeMille,

He could die happily ever after.

Chorus

Well Maranian Beethoven,

Once unwrapped a bed role,

Two of the players now rehearse,

Around the flagpole,

While the national bank,

Sells road-maps for the soul,

To the old folks home,

In the college.

Well I wish I could write,

For you a melody so plain,

That would hold you dear lady,

From going insane,

That could ease you and cool you,

And cease the pain,

Of your useless and pointless knowledge.

Momma's in the factory, she ain't got no shoes,

Daddy's in the alley, he's lookin' for food,

And I'm in trouble, with the Tombstone Blues.

I've always considered goregrind/death metal lyrics as bizarre in their total over-the-top-goriness and weirdness. One of my favorite ones would be Devourment's "Baby Killer".

Here I come

They call me

A beast like none before

I suck the abscess of dead infants

I want some more

I Am Baby Killer

I kill pregnant sluts and whores!!

Splaying inside the womb

Red and wet I tear chunks from the pussy Red and wet mangled unborn baby

Eat the meat dripping from filthy...

Cumstained, blood-soaked, rotten cunt Infant skull exploding in my mouth

It's brain on the floor

I grab it's tongue and tear it out

Dead meat for me. I can't believe

How much this baby is bleeding

It's tiny stumps pours out more

Than it's dead mothers open sores

It's guts paint the floor

It's flesh I shall gorge.

It seems feasting on young infant flesh has made my semen leak.

I am aroused. Fuck I'm crazy

I fuck the blood. I need meat on my cock.

No meat can satisfy me. I must spew my seed

Spunk flows throughout the mangled infant. now I'll chop it up

Chunks of guts fly as i stand with baby skin all over me

Forcing the blood-soaked gore unmercifully down my throat

Pieces of baby are lodged inside of me

Over and over I feast on it's death

It's all gone. I want some more

I turn to it's mother

Blood is still flowing strongly from her butchered pussy

I drink from her fountain, stench of menstrual gore

Gagging on chunks of sliced up pussy

I feel pressure....

Pushing in my brain

The force caves in my head

My eyes eject slowly

Where's my knife?

I plunge my knife in

Inside my head

My veins are seeping

Warm streams of red

My tongue tastes so horrid

I must swallow it

Gore taste so scrumptious

Enough to wash it down with piss.

However, in plain old craziness/weirdness, few can top Meshuggah and their thesaurus-driven festivals of twisting the English language in ways you didn't even know it could bend.

Heh, that reminds me. One of my band's many ill-fated attempts at experimentation was a song called "Meshuggah We're Going Down". Made me chuckle at the time.

Almost every single song by Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band...

For example, Tropical Hot Dog Night

Tropical Hot Dog Night

Like two flamingoes in a fruit fight

Ev’ry colour of day

Whirlin’ around at night

I’m playin’ this music

So the young girls will come out

To meet the monster tonight

Tropical Hot Dog Night

Like two flamingoes in a fruit fight

I don’t wanna know ‘bout wrong or right

I don’t want to know

- I’m anywhere tonight

Tropical Hot Dog Night

Like two flamingoes in a fruit fight

Like steppin’ out of a triangle

Into striped light

Striped light, striped light

Tropical Hot Dog Night

- Everything’s wrong, at the same time it’s right

The truth has no patterns for me tonight

I’m playing this music so the young girls will come out

To meet the monster tonight

Meet the monster tonight

What do all you women do

When the men get Tropical Hot Dog payday?

What do you do on Tropical Hot Dog day day?

Yay; Yay

Step out of a triangle into striped light

Turn around and step back into striped light

Tropical Hot Dog Night

I’m playin’ this song

For all the young girls to come out to meet the monster tonight

Meet the monster tonight

How would you like to be the lucky girl,

The lucky one?

- To be the monster tonight

Ow, to be the monster tonight

Oh, everything’s wrong, at the same time it’s white!

You get to be - you get to be - with me

And also to be the monster tonight
