I just got the tactics all wrong for that one. Put too much gas in, car too heavy, ergo car laps slower.

Pitted early, fell back a lap and that was that.

As for a standings update, Morris can do no better than tying Waithe (and any non-win for Morris or a better-than-ninth finish for Waithe ends his dream); McGaw is in a similar boat, but it's a non-win race for McGaw or a better-than-eighth finish for Waithe that ends his run.

Basically it's a 4-person race with Waithe, me, Dutch and Byrne not available to be eliminated this next race.

If you asked Murray Walker, he'd probably say it was a 2 horse race. It would take a few retirements from the leading 2 cars to close the gap between them and the second pair.

My target is 126 points, which means 33 points from 5 races. For some reason I don't see it happening. I've been lucky with the car the whole season.

I've had nothing but bad luck but I see a third place overall finish for me, ahead of Dutch, which will keep me happy!
