Redneck Rampage may be a contender. It was released in 1997, and featured songs by Reverend Horton Heat and Mojo Nixon, among others.

Quake II came out in 97 and had all it's music done by Trent Reznor.

Pre. The first GT didn't come out until 98, I believe RR3D came out first for the 3DO in 1994.
