Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Haha, I've probably seen this movie like... 7 times in the last two weeks. So great! From top to bottom, one of the best musicals I've ever seen. If you like weird movies/rock and roll/musicals, its a MUST see. I actually downloaded the soundtrack to listen to the songs. The acting is great, costumes are great, story is AMAZING. John Cameron Mitchell made a truly amazing picture.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, its about a down on luck rock star named Hedwig, who is from Germany during the Cold War. He eventually escapes (through a botched sex-change operation that leaves him with an inch of skin, HENCE, the Angry Inch) and tries to make it in the world of rock and roll. It is AMAZING.

One of my favorite movies ever.

I liked Type O Negative's cover of "Angry Inch".

The movie was okay. My gay friend loves the balls off of that movie, so I'm kind of burnt out on it. That and Pink Flamingos.

It's possibly more terrible than Manos. Which was a pretty terrible movie.

I've not seen it, but my girly-girly-girl friends flail over this movie in a girly-girly-girl way. Men I've talked to who've seen it, not so thrilled.

It's brilliant...it's kind of self-consciously a poor man's Rocky Horror as far as cult films go, but it's a good laugh.
