Rocky Horror Picture Show

I was just wondering what some of you thought about the cult classic, the Rocky Horror Picture Show?

I just watched it in full for the first time this weekend, and I thought overall it was okay. I enjoy plays and musicals, so I like the first half, but at around the point where the Madusa ray was used, it just got a little weird for my taste. Also, I have never been to a late night showing (not even sure where a movie theater that has them where I live), but does all of the fan interaction with the movie really happen?

For some reason, i can only watch half of this movie. If I watch the first half, I'm fine. If I awtch the second half, I'm fine. If i watch the whole thing at once, I can't stand it and shut it off. One of the girls I used to work with was trying to get me to go to one of those midnight showings with the acting ot stuff and shit...hell no

Spoilers? You mean there are people in the civilised world that haven't seen Rocky Horror? I was sat down and made to watch it at an incredibly young age, and everyone else should be too.

I adore it. Richard O'Brien can be an absolute genius, and it's easily his best work, and probably Tim Curry's finest performance too. And one of only two times I can tolerate Meatloaf. It's just wonderful campy fun, and just brilliant.

I've played Eddie, Riff Raff and Frank in local productions, and been to countless live performances and late-night showings, and while sometimes the real obsessive Rocky fans who go to every showing can spoil it a little with the formulaic interaction (doing the EXACT "right thing" at the "right moment" every time, with little to no spontaneity), it's always a laugh. I can't imagine not enjoying it.

And I reckon the first half is much better in terms of it as a "film", but some of the songs in the latter half are fantastic. The Floor Show sequence is brilliant, and "FRANK N FURTER IIIIIT'SS ALLLL OVER!" is marvellous.

I've seen them infrequently here in Jersey, and I think one somewhere in mainland UK...York, perhaps? I'm not sure, I wasn't very old for that one, and I don't remember it too well. I've been to more live performances than late night showings, though.

I love the movie, especially "the Time Warp". One of my all time favorite songs, actually.

I was supposed to go see a late night showing last Halloween in Philly, but my friends cancelled, and I wasn't going to be the only one there not in costume and not throwing rice at the proper time. Or, ya know, not yelling "Say It" at the right time. Or dancing to the "Time Warp. I mean, I don't want to look like an idiot! :shifty:
