So I've recently wanted to add some podcasts to my iPod for when I'm going to classes or when I am exercising. My interests are Football (both American and European) and Heavy Metal/Hard Rock. Any suggestions of shows to check out?

I'm actually taking a podcasting class this quarter where we'll end up having to do one. If I like it and its easy enough I may do one for American Sports/My Website.

I am searching the Podcast Directory, but I kind of figured I might as well see if any here could give me some suggestions as I've weeded through enough shitty podcasts for the week. I find a good portion of the people trying to do podcasts incredibly boring and unbearable.

I highly suggest askaninja.com... has nothing to do with sports and is a video podcast but nevertheless. I just say search through there, it is really a lot of trial and error with podcasts. Styles, voices, etc. all vary from cast-to-cast.

Even though it's not metal music, I'll always suggest "Hi, My Name Is Mark", it's a podcast by Mark Hoppus (former blink-182 and current +44 member) and is just generally quite amusing to listen to. Also, I'd check out Axis of Justice podcast, it's Serj from SOAD and Tom Morello of Audioslave and RATM, no specific music, just good music and interesting politics.

For the football side, check out Guardian Unlimited's Football Weekly podcast. It's pretty good, and gets a laugh or two from me at the terrible jokes.
