Yeah, Thin Blue Line, and his name is Rowan Atkinson. That was one of his less popular ventures. At least I never thought it was that good, and now it's very very dated. Compared to Mr. Bean and Blackadder, which are timeless.

I keep seeing it cheap online and I wonder if I should get it for a larf. But I think back and most of the characters were really grating. The Detective was probably the only decent one, maybe that guy who's in Eastenders now too.

Actually, yeah. That guy was pretty funny.

Quotes ahoy!

Detective Inspector Derek Grim: Just remember Raymond, my arse is on the line and I don't want a cock up.
Detective Inspector Derek Grim: 'cause you know what'll happen Raymond, don't you - it'll be your cock up - my arse!
Detective Inspector Derek Grim: Just remember Raymond, it's my arse and if you stuff it, I'm going to be very red in the face.

I see a trend developing >_> Still, Rowan Atkinson is awesome.

The episode of The Detectives I remember the best is one where they were investigating a murder at a Medieval Battle Recreation Society, and they spent the entire episode trying to list all of the different name endings to football teams in the English leagues (Rangers, Albion, Alexandria, etc.).

Thin Blue Line was decidedly subpar though. Most of the time it was just mildly uninteresting relationship issues between Atkinson and his wife, who also worked at the police station. It also had that guy who plays the same camp role in every sitcom he's in, and has never been funny once.
