"The Remote Part" - Idlewild

I love that album waaay to much.

Every Idlewild release is awesome, although The Remote Part is probably the best of them. 'You Held The World In Your Arms', 'A Modern Way Of Letting Go', 'American English' and 'I Never Wanted' make up possibly the best opening tracks to an album ever.

Head Automatica's Decadence is also a fantastic record. I remember when Popaganda came out and I couldn't stand the band. Somehow, though, I checked this out and I did a complete 180 turn on the band. This is amazing pop/rock with a mix of modern sounds thrown into it. It's got the right amount of cheekiness to it (one of the song is titled "I Shot William H. Macy") and it's just awesome.

Again, I struggle to see how this album personally is underrated. The band are to an extent, but that album is THE album generally people go to for them, there was a lot of hype behind the product and it generally is well liked by anyone who delves into the band.

Eh, it could be different over there, but I hadn't heard shit on the band here until Popaganda came out in the States and I don't think I've really heard much afterwards, either.

It's probably less of an underrated candidate than Popaganda, though, I guess.

I heard Popaganda was shit, but thats mainly because Dan The Automator (who I believe worked on the first album) didn't work on the second, and they changed the style quite a bit. I heard a couple of songs, did fuck all for me really.

And it also has one of the greatest closing tracks on an album in Scottish Fiction aswell. Not to mention with Tell Me Ten Words and Stay The Same before aswell.
