You might be thinking of a band like Hinder, Shinedown maybe even Alter Bridge at a push. All better than Nickelback (IMO) but can occasionally sound like them...

It's most likely Theory Of A Deadman, when I was playing Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit I swore it was Nickleback.

I found this on wikipedia! It refers to the lead singer of Theory of a Deadman.

He played lead guitar for the song "Hero", from the first Spider-Man soundtrack. Tyler was married on March 25, 2006 to an actress named Christine Danielle. His newest album, Gasoline, has gone platinum. Theory of a Deadman was nominated for both 2006 Juno Awards and 2006 MMVAs.

His songs are frequently misattribute as songs from Nickelback, because his vocals sounds unremarkably identical to Chad Kroeger. In fact, Connolly and Kroeger are very close friends and shares the same label but they never performed together despite the close friendship.

Really, it's hard to narrow down pop rock anymore. Either everyone sounds like Nickelback or Fall Out Boy nowadays.

Shinedown do not really sound anything like Nickelback, they (if you listen to the albums at least, dunno about singles as I dunno what they've realised as a single) have a harder edge.

Alter Bridge, not a chance really IMO lol.

And Hinder. If it sounded like if Aerosmith met Nickelback in a car crash, thats Hinder.

I second the likelihood of it being Theory Of A Deadman, having had one of thier albums a little while ago. Sometimes, his voice is indistinguishable from Kroeger's.

It could well be Nickelback. Their new sound is so different from what we have come to relate to them. They're such a better band now.
