Kris' 1975 EWR Scenario

Recommended Posts

Kris, I just learned that the Women's Title was not in the WWF until 1983. Moolah held the NWA Women's Title, and the WWF signed her over with that belt, long after 1975. So, you probably should remove the WWWF Women's Title, and Moolah herself from WWWF.

Results from this website say that Moolah worked WWWF shows as the "Women's Champion", so she will be left in. I assume Women's championship refers to the WWWF Women's Championship. Also, the WWE Women's Championship title history goes well back through to the 50s.

Despite Moolah's claims, she never actually won the NWA World Women's title, instead breaking off from the NWA and defending her own "Women's World Championship" belt in various outlaw (non-NWA) promotions, and eventually the WWWF. She rarely defended the title against anyone other than her own students, and did not in fact have any 20+ or 30+ year reigns, often hotshotting her belt back and forth in this town or that promotion to get the locals talking. She arguably had an uninterrupted 8-year reign of a belt whose governing body was...herself.

I don't mean to speak ill of the dead, but Moolah was a master of embellishing her deeds and protecting her paycheck. There's nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't make you an NWA World Champion. "Women's Champion" or "Women's World Champion" is probably the correct name for her belt.

So should I delete rather the NWA belt or the WWWF version of the belt, as from what you are saying they seem the be the same thing?

I guess Moolah's World title went on to become the (W)WWF Women's World title, so it should probably be a WWWF belt. I don't know offhand if the NWA Women's title was active at this time or not.

Not much of a video, but on Viva La Raza (the new Eddie Guerrero disc set) they show him wrestling for like, a few seconds, while Dean Malenko is talking... probably not enough to get stats from, though. Was Boris wrestling in '75? I didn't realize that... I would've imagined he'd be close to retirement by then.

I'm probably not the best person, but based on what I know about him (assuming you don't want to just make him a trainer or something...)

Brawl: 72

Speed: 10

Tech: 60

Charisma: 50

Stiffness: 80

Selling: 70

He would definitely be a heel, have trainer and booker ticked, and I'm not sure about over, attitude, behavior, or his wage...

I really think he was retired by then, though, and probably a trainer. I would put him in staff, as a trainer, tick booker, and give him around 85-90 for talent. That's just me. If you really want to make him a wrestler, those stats might work... I know he was a good technical wrestler (not as great as Dean, but solid, especially for his age at that point) and he did a lot of brawling, cheap shots, was a real asshole in the ring, you know. A real villainous heel...

Thanks! And according to his wiki, and OWW, he wrestled well into the late 70s, so I am going to add him in as both a trainer and a worker.

Just a few questions on this...

- When does this scenario start? January? Cause you seem to have taken rosters from a years worth of results from '75 and just added everyone who wrestled on a card on their roster. I could be wrong but thats how it looks... maybe look through 1974-Jan'75 results and see who worked in a territory consistently and use them on the roster.

- Why are so many workers shared? Most, if not all of them only worked for the one territory at one time. eg, Ric Flair (who shouldn't be that over) left AWA to go work for MACW and didn't go back to AWA full time ever so he should just be in MACW.

This is looking really good otherwise. Glad to see you're keeping going on with this and i look forward to seeing this progress on. :)

The scenario date doesn't have an exact start date, but I make it with somewhere in the fall in mind, and yes you are correct, I did just take everybody from the whole year, but that is because it isn't 100 percent at one certain time.

All workers who are shared have records of working in both territories at the same time, whether in results, title histories, or interview and other info of some kind.

Also, how over do you think Flair should be?

Thanks for your input LJC, and you too Scotty. :) Do you know what promotion Malenko managed the Masked Superstar in?

Going back in my memory Flair was mid-carder in 1975, upper mid-carder at the most. As for Boris Malenko, he managed the Masked Superstar in Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling. The Masked Superstar was originally one of the Mongols, which one I can't remember. But I read an interview with the Masked Superstar and he said one night he was one of the Mongols and had his head shaved the next he wore a mask and was called Superstar. Once he put the mask on he didn't change until he later became one half of Demolition.

Yeah, he just left AWA, dyed his hair blonde and was starting to slim down and develop that technical style. He should still have a slightly higher brawl than tech skill and would be about 60 over at best.

Bolo Mongol. And according to Wiki (we know how reliable THEY are...) The Masked Superstar was in Georgia Championship Wrestling.

Well right now, in game, Bolo Mongol/Masked Superstar is in NWA: D, GCW, and BTW, which should I remove for MACW, if any?

I'm pretty sure that Flair was MACW Champ, and was involved in a feud between Rip Hawk and himself against Swede Hanson and Tiger Conway Jr, wouldn't those qualify him to have an over in the 70s?

Also, as far as Flair's stats, since it doesn't take place in any set time, I wanted to put Flair's stats as they would be following his return from the plane crash.

Does anybody have any stat suggestions for Larry O'Dea and Ron Miller? I saw one match of Larry O'Dea's vs. Abdullah the Butcher, and got some loose stats off of that, but Ron Miller's was just guess work.

Amazing that you're still working on this. I know how time consuming and frustrating these scenarios can be from first-hand experience. Kudos on keeping up with it. I'll try to take a peek at it soon and give you some feedback; unfortunately, my knowledge of 1975's wrestling scene is extremely, extremely limited.
