My fourth festival this year (After Reading, Download and the Camden Crawl) will be the Gatecrasher Summer Soundsystem Weekend. The line-up is fucking immense, with twenty live bands and over TWO HUNDRED DJ sets, spread out over six tents, it's dance heaven.

Highlights of the weekend are going to be

Prodigy

CSS

Digitalism

Chemical Brothers

Dizzee Rascal

Pendulum

Crystal Castles

Does It Offend You, Yeah?

Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip

DJ Yoda

And a fuck load more... http://summersoundsystem.gatecrasher.com/Lineup/

I can't wait.

P.S I'm still like all Metal and stuff, Rawr.

None of us can afford Steeb's this weekend, so you've go Bob Hope of any of us cool kids (H) making it...

Though Prodigy, Pendulum, Scroobius Pip, Chemicals and DIOY,Y? sounds like an awesome weekend :(

Festival was amazing.

Can't remember most of the people I saw, but I definitely saw

Pendulum

Prodigy

Audiobullies

Dizzee Rascall

Newham Generals

All of which were mind blowing.

Can't remember who else.

Much strongbow was drunk.

Anyway, here's today's Scroobius Pip story...

So the weather was atrocious, and the main stage was flooded, so all the acts due to play on it had to be moved to different stages. Only no-one told anybody. So no-one knew where the bands were playing. This included DLS vs Scroobius Pip.

:o

fortunately my boy Dan Le Sac (<_<) hooked me up with the skinny on their secret gig location.

A double decker bus.

It was fucking amazing. DLS and Pip were on the bottom deck, and the crowd was at the top. I say crowd, like twenty people at the most. The sound was horrible, and you couldn't see the band, but it was the best fucking gig I've ever seen in my life. It iwas intense. It was the most intimate gig you can imagine, fucking beautiful. You could barely stand up to dance, but fuck it, I found a way.

DLS and Pip just keep on raising the bar.

That's my 8th Pip gig. Tomorrow is the 9th.

I was gonna go to this but I would of only been going to see Van Dyk, Prodigy and Oakey so it wasn't really worth it. Talk of this festival has bought back the heartache of having to sell my Global Gathering ticket which are bought in December because I can't make it anymore :(.

TAFKA, I imagine if I'd been more sober, or a huge fan of anyone playing (Other than DLS PIP) I'd be writing some form of complaint letter. The organization was absolutely atrocious. Especially with regard to stage times, which weren't publicized before the event and cost £10 to find out (And became useless once everyone was moved for the mainstage flood). No-one was able to help direct us to where the rescheduled main stage acts were. Also, not one person before the acts started could tell me where the box office was. I queued up for no reason, because I had to go walk a mile away from the gates to find the BO. (Luckily I was able to sneak in without queuing). Also the contingency plan for the flood was awful, the DnB tent was entirely to small to host even the acts that were scheduled to play it, let alone the refugees from the main.

None of that really bothered me, because as it happens, I was extremely drunk the entire time, I had a chat with DLS and PIP to find out where their secret gig was (Which was amazing), and a beautiful girl decided she would quite like to spend some time with me. All round I had a fantastic weekend. I will definitely return next year.

A friend of mine, who wasn't extremely drunk, absolutely loves the Chemical Brothers (who didn't play), and didn't meet anyone pretty, was not so happy >_>
