Controller Gunk

....what the fuck is the black stuff that magically appears in the small slits on the side of the controllers?

Also, the white powder type stuff on around the N64 analog stick, what was that?

Dirt, grime, dead skin. Some wear and tear of the plastic.

I just use a pin whenever I notice it or around analog sticks a q-tip.

What he said, I tend to find thin scissors are a little better at cleaning is, but it's not like it'll damage your control, no worse than what you'll find on a keyboard (barring, perhaps, semen of course :shifty: ).

I've taken apart N64 controllers to get the Nintendo Cocaine out of the joystick compartment. Mainly because I got a huge rock of it in there once and it fucked up the controller.

At present, I'm constantly dragging a toothpick or whatnot through the grooves on the edges of my 360 controller, and wiping around the joysticks to get that junk off of there.

The first question is dirt from your hands/dead skin.

The second is a dumb question Kou Jr. When you rub the analog stick against the sides it creates friction and wears off the plastic of the stick. Making plastic dust, same thing happens to all analog sticks including the 360 ones.

That's what you get for owning MadCatz, eww.

It was a backup/player 2 controller, but one fateful day playing San Andreas, CJ decides to look at the ground, and only the ground with my official controller.

Jesus, what do you do with your controller? I've had mine since September, it gets used virtually every day, and it's not got much, if any sign of any gunk at all.

Well your controller IS black, so you probably couldn't see it anyway.
