Photoshop Text Question

How do I make it so my text isn't scrunched up? The spacing between each letter is so close that they're overlapping.

Highlight your text and increase the kerning (the A V with an arrow beneath it).

This is actually called Tracking or Letter Spacing, and though often confused with Kerning, there is a small difference. Tracking refers to the distance between the entire set of characters in a word or block of text, Kerning refers to the space between individual letters.
