2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees announced

Run-DMC (the only rap group that deserves enshrinement in the R&R HoF)

Metallica (about damn time!)

Jeff Beck

Bobby Womack

Little Anthony and the Imperials

Early influence inductee: Wanda Jackson

Sidemen inductees: Spooner Oldham, and two of Elvis Presley's musicians: drummer D.J. Fontana and bassist Bill Black

Run-DMC probably won't perform at the induction ceremony: Darryl McDaniels said they can't do it without Jam Master Jay. And I don't blame him.

Wanda Jackson and Little Anthony & The Imperials are the only ones in that list I could give a toss about, and Wanda should have gone in years ago.

I had no idea the R&R HOF is still around.

Why is a hip-hop act getting in? Because of one song with Aerosmith? We hip-hop people should start our own HOF.

Makes me feel old seeing Metallica get in though.

Run-DMC did have songs like Rockbox, King of Rock and the DX song Kings which were more rock inclined. In fact, quite a lot of them have similiar aspects that you'd find in rock music.

Makes more sense than having Madonna in though IMO.
