Well I was at Otakon this weekend and I went to see the AMV Contest. It was a pretty cool show, though some people had awful music tastes. In any case, when it got to the humorous/satirical category this video played. It was absolutely hilarious and had the entire convention (Or at least the people who saw it) in stiches the rest of the weekend. I do live in Baltimore. And yeah there were a bunch of nerdy cosplayers. Some aren't that nerdy, but some are really bad.

Bits that were entertaining:

* The Azumanga Daioh clip with Sakaki, Chiyo...and the penguin.

* Naru punching Keitaro to the tune of "I believe I can fly"

* The bit to "move bitch, get out the way" for some reason...

* Set to scenes of Cowboy Bebop and Akira - "Coming soon from AMV Films...featuring none of the clips shown here..."

Bits that were just WRONG:

* All the fan service. Fuckers - when will then learn?

* What the HELL did they do to Osaka's eyes?!?

* The Chiyo and Kimura duet was...disturbing.

The rest of it was quite good, I guess.

I shall download the second video now.

Bits that were simply GOLD:

* The classical music at the start.

* The arrow into Chiyo's head plus blood out the other side...was more tacky than anything else. However it was ENTIRELY redeemed by the red X over her face in the school picture (featuring so many random anime characters I don't have time to name them all...but they even included Largo!! *marks*) ala BATTLE ROYALE. Fantastic. "One down, 41 to go..."

(This reminds me...oi, Norris, write the final entry to your Anime BR!)

* The multiple random flashes to Evangelion episode 24 in the LONG still shot with EVA Unit 01 holding Kaworu...just to mock it. The third one had the sounds of crickets. The fourth one set to the music "Oh kill me pleaaase! Killll me! I want to diiieeee!" lol

* Hyuga playing the piano and singing the chorus to Chop Suey...bwaaahaha.

* GENDOWNED.

* Evangelion. Set to Bohemian Rhapsody. Advertising Mountain Dew. GOLD.

* Cowboy Bebop + Hanson = Cowboy Mmmbop!

Bits that were just WRONG:

* WHY?! WHY with the Giant Animal Mincing Machine?!? WHY?!?!?

* RAPE SCENE = WRONG. JUST. WRONG.

* Evangelion Porn = WRONG. JUST. WRONG. (And it's in strange colours too, whasupwidat?)

* "My...anus...is...bleeding?" ........ :blink: *backs away from cartoon*

* Arrgh victims of an atomic explosion! Victims with...spikes of glass sticking out of them...argggh!

So in conclusion, while the 2nd video may have worse bits in it, the good bits are far superior. Download that one, especially if you're an Evangelion fan.

Despite Evangelion quite possibly being my most favorite thing ever I liked the first video more. Possibly due to the fact I saw that one at Otakon and remember it much more fondly than the second one, which I didn't see until I downloaded it once I got home. Though Gendowned is something I am definitely using in the future.

And about the "My Anus is Bleeding"... I take it you've never seen "Rejected" by Don Hertzfeldt?
