Emulators.

Especially Gameboy emulators on 1x screen size. :D

Just how I like to play Pokemon on my PC in the corner while having a downloaded episode of Raw playing fullscreen on WMP in the background...

That would annoy me too much, I have to have sound on any emulator I'm playing and having a Raw ep on as well would get distracting and frustrating.

Yeah, I turn the music off. Sometimes I like Pokemon music on (for Gym leader fights, usually), but for the most part all the random battles just become annoying to listen to, so I prefer it off anyway.

The last time I used my preferred emulator, turning the music off made it run faster - like, a LOT faster.

VGBA? Yeah it does that, instead of turning it OFF you use the mute option.
