So, yeah, Fringe s2 premiered Thursday. I missed it because my DVR was being hella gay, but I just got around to watching it on Hulu and I gotta say:

Killing Charlie off? gaaaaay. I knew it was coming when they cut away from Charlie and the shapeshifter as he opened fire, but still - super gayyyy. Charlie was one of my favourite characters, and now he's some shapeshifting soldier trying to kill Olivia. RETCON CHARLIE'S DEATH, JJ ABRAMS. DO IT.

I posted in the Season 1 topic, but no one answered..anyway they could be merged into just one single "Fringe" topic?

Anyway..unfortunately, they can't

retcon Charlies death. Kirk Acevedo was fired from the show. I'm thinking the new FBI chick introduced is going to be his replacement. It sucks because I liked Charlie being the "outsider looking in" kinda character

.. that would make absolutely no sense. I'm pretty sure it was only rumored that Kirk Acevedo was fired, because what sense does it make to have his character continue appearing in the show? I mean, it's not Charlie but it's still Kirk Acevedo playing the part of the shapeshifter now, and I doubt they're just going to leave such a plotline unresolved. They may eventually put 2+2 together and kill the shapeshifter, but I'd think that'd be one of the bigger arcs during this season - Charlie being replaced by a shapeshifter.

He posted on his facebook that he was fired. And it was confirmed that it was actually him. They had even put out a casting call for a 20s-30s female to play an FBI agent in a recurring role on the show. It sucks I know...I likr Charlie. They just kill the shapeshifter and put in a line about the alt universe Charlie being killed too and the plot is left intact

but I liked how the season started. And I admit, I laughed my ass off when Olivia went flying through the windshield of the suv
