...though this is a difficult one, as I watch different films for different reason. The above is very much my "film student" top ten, but also the films that I could watch over and over (except maybe Eraserhead...) and that have in some way changed my outlook. But I love mindless low-budget action, sci-fi and horror, and could easily throw Demolition Man in that list somewhere as well. It all depends on what I'm in the mood to watch.

That list's in no particular order, really, except the top two will always be the top two.

I know, I must have watched that movie a hundred times when I was between the ages of 7 and 12

I seem to watch it every few months even now. That and Predator. I keep meaning to pull an Alien all nighter, but I've not yet had the funds and the time to order the amount of Pizza I'd need to feed myself through it.

As much as it costs, an Alien marathon is a great night.

BTW, Alien > Aliens.

Pft. No way. I love all the Alien films (minus the second AVP), but Aliens is top of the line every time. I stand by my comment that I made somewhere sometime that it's the perfect blend of action, thriller, drama & Lance Henrikson.

Alien is a close second though.

A mix of great classic comedy (Dictator, Flamingos), great horror (Scream, Psycho, 28 Days), great indie flicks (Elephant, White Ribbon, Single Man) and one of the best kids movies ever released (Wall E). Oh, and I forgot Star Wars original trilogy. Great set of movies.
