Even by Bloodstock's standards, it's a little thrashy/heavy so far. I reckon we'll get an influx of melodic/power metal, a sprinkling of prog, and maybe a couple of folk bands to balance it out.

Not a bad line-up at all. There's a lot of stuff I wouldn't want to see, but I'd much rather see a guy like Devin Townsend than almost any of the bands playing Download or Sonisphere, and Morbid Angel, 1349 and Lawnmower Deth would be class.

Not a huge fan of At The Gates, but they're usually pretty good live, Angel Witch are a guilty pleasure of mine, and Napalm Death are absolute class live. There's a little too much in the way of "symphonic" metal or whatever you'd call Rhapsody, that's just not my thing, but mostly it's not a bad line-up.

Apparently one of the staff said the following about the Sunday headliner:

"they are sometimes 3 words, can be 2 and in some countries translates to one word"

No one knows if it's true or BS - but can anyone think who it may be if it's kosher?

And the remaining headliners are:

Friday > W.A.S.P.

Sunday > Motorhead

Also announced, for the main stage: HammerFall and poisonblack, for the second stage: Byfrost, Deadly Circus Fire, and Primevil.

Fucking nice announcement.

I've been waiting years to see Wintersun. The line-up is getting better and better with each announcement! :D

A few more bands have been added since I last updated.

RJD Stage: Skeletonwitch, The Defiled

Sophie Lancaster Stage: Romeo Must Die, Amaranthe, Cerebral Bore, Hellish Outcast

A bit of mixed bag really. Amaranthe are... interesting - like if Shakira fronted a power/death metal band. :\

It looks like Nevermore will be pulling out due to some band members leaving. A pity, but lets hope Bloodstock can find a suitable replacement.

In other news, Primitai were one of two winners last night in one of the Metal 2 The Masses tournaments to win a spot at the festival. This is fucking awesome news as they fucking rocked when supporting White Wizzard last year.

Updated to include the latest New Blood bands, as well as the first six acts for the acoustic stage. Also, Nevermore have finally been removed from the line-up page.

Who is everyone looking forward to seeing?

I caught Hell at Download and they were awesome. For those who haven't heard of them:

Day splits officially confirmed for the lower stages, and The Defiled and Sketonwitch have switched days. It's looking a pretty swish line up TBH.

Ihsahn and At The Gates should be definites.

Looking at my clashfinder, Ihsahn will probably get watched. As for As The Gates, I'll probably catch the middle par, in-between Power Quest and Amaranthe.
