Man, Octavia Spencer was fantastic. I like it when people who aren't a-list movie stars win the Golden Globe, because it actually matters to them.

And also Mr. Tibbs is on stage now!

And Helen Mirren has brought the fun of the show up a notch.

I looked at the nominees and found myself entirely floored - I haven't seen or heard tell of most of these shows and for SURE the movies.

If anything other than Modern Family wins this, color me shocked....

With that field I am actually very glad Modern Family won, and I don't even watch it anymore. Funny little acceptance speech, too.

Ricky Gervais was not funny this year sadly, which made the watching of the show a tedious bore. And yet I sat there for three hours. So sad.

He really wasn't all that funny last year either. It was a tremendously overrated performance (but still worth watching for how the room reacted to him then, as opposed to now when they knew what was going to happen).

Gervais' one funny moment was 'Have you watched The Tourist yet?'

Other then that, I loved Rogen's first line, followed by Beckinsale being almost too embarrassed to actually speak. And Macy/Huffman singing was pretty good too.
