Glasvegas was okay, it had the potential to be great and yet the album never seemed to pick up any steam. Became a bit of a chore.
Pleasant Dreams is the worst of the three Ramones albums that I have listened to. It's still pretty good though.
Scars had a couple of good tunes, decent overall.
Brothers has some lovely songs, love "These Days" as an ending but it's let down by a dull middle.

9. Run the Jewels 2 by Run the Jewels (2014)

10. Living with the Living by Ted Leo and the Pharmacists (2007)

Again, an album I listened to a couple times a few days ago and then I put off writing it up/starting on another one. I AM THE WORST. Anyway, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists are band I've known of for years; they were pretty huge on indie radio up here in the mid '00s and I had friends who went to their shows, but I mostly just knew them for a great cover of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" for The AV Club. This was my first full album of theirs I've picked up, and I quite liked it and want to hear more. They blend a lot of styles and influences together well; some songs remind me of R.E.M., others Elvis Costello or The Clash, and at one point they veer into a song that's dub-influenced, and the transitions always feel seamless. My biggest problem was probably an overabundance of six-minute long songs near the end that usually didn't justify their length. That being said, though my initial favorites from the album ("Bomb. Repeat. Bomb." and "Colleen," both of which turned out to be the singles they went with so good call, guys) were shorter, my favorite track was...

Best Track: "C.I.A.," the album-closer. The other songs of its length sometimes drag, but I don't think it ever does.

Probably listened to more but can't remember really need to start writing down the ones I've listened too. Favorite out of these ones have to be the two albums from Run The Jewels both quality from start to finish. Priorities and Hozier were two okay albums. Everything Will Be Alright In The End wasn't that bad expected a lot worse. Sonic Highways was a decent album not one of the Foo Fighters best but still worthy of a couple of re listens.

71 in 67 days. 4 ahead of schedule, lost two thanks to a weekend focused on other stuff. Need to start listening to more per day to get figures up before Christmas break.

Doo-Wops and Hooligans was pretty good, but the stand out was Michael Bublé's awesome Christmas album. Swing music just works for Christmas music, and Bublé makes it all his own without ruining any of the Christmas cheer.

78 in 67 days. 11 ahead of schedule, thanks to a day of being alone in my office and wanting something to stop me going mad.

Largely Christmas albums, so I went for something I knew would give me the most popular Christmas songs - Glee. They're pretty good, and served their purpose really well. Seth MacFarlane's Christmas effort was a pleasant surprise too.

11. Thao & Mirah by Thao & Mirah (2011)

A collaboration between Thao Nguyen (of the delightfully named Thao & The Get Down Stay Down) and GoGo Yubari's Favorite Indie Pop Songstress Mirah, my reddit Secret Santa got me this and another album off my wishlist to be reviewed later. It's the first one of Mirah's collaborative albums that I actually own, and it's interesting mostly in hearing where their two styles meet. I'm not really as familiar with Thao as I should be, but as a huge Mirah fan you can really tell which songs are more influenced by her style and which are more Thao's; Thao's songs have more of a groove, usually with some sort of rattling drum beat underneath them, whereas much like her solo work Mirah's songs are warmer and guitar-driven. There's sort of this give-and-take from song to song that I enjoy, and two listens in, only one song doesn't work for me; "Likeable Man," which feels like it meanders on and on but is only actually three and a half minutes long. I think I would have liked to hear more vocal interplay between them, though, but then I've only listened a couple times and I was at work so on future listens I'll probably find more to appreciate.

Best Track: "Rubies and Rocks" is the song on the album that blends their styles best, but there's not a great YouTube video of that from what I can see. So let's say "Little Cup," which sounds like a pretty good Mirah song with more audible percussion than there would usually be. Also check "Spaced Out Orbit."

I haven't checked out a full Foo Fighters album since In Your Honor because I thought it was starting to turn into generic rock stuff, and none of the singles really disproved that. This album doesn't either, honestly. Something about the songs just sounds wrong to me, like they're trying really really hard to be Important and The Preservation of Good Old Rock & Roll. "What Did I Do?" was fun but unfortunately it was one-half of a track with two songs, and "God As My Witness" just sounds like soppy, self-important '80s stadium rock (the kind of stuff that Nirvana were actively mocking when they blew up, though maybe that was more Kurt and Krist than Dave). Dave Grohl's still cool and all but most of this stuff's leaving my hard drive sooner rather than later.

Best Track: Still, the "What Did I Do?" part of "What Did I Do?/God As My Witness" is good. I tried to relistening to other songs and I liked them all less on a second go around, so. Yeah.

83. 'Merry Flippin' Christmas' by Bowling For Soup (11th December 2014)

83 in 70 days. 13 ahead of schedule, thanks to glorious Christmas! Listening to Christmas albums mean I don't have to pay a lot of attention as they won't get added to my permanent playlist, so they're really helping me get my numbers up for what is likely to be a musically quiet post-Christmas period.

All okay albums, Kelly Clarkson started off well but she has no subtle sound in her range. K. Flay was the best of the albums (not an X-Mas one), but whilst it was good, I can't say it's anything that blew me away.

This live album blew me away the first time I heard it some time ago and it keeps the goosebumps up on the second, third, fourth, fifth and so on listens because these guys are so in sync. It is almost frightening to think about how complex some of these compositions are and how fluent they come off when this quartet jumps on them. Even the solos are just there, perfectly, pulled off without a hitch. Honestly, I think that not only is At Carniege Hall an essential album for any Dave Brubeck fan but also an essential live jazz recording. Because, god damn. Also, if my calculations are correct, I am 9 albums ahead of schedule which is all fine.

13. Maverick a Strike by Finley Quaye (1997)

Got this from a record store pretty much entirely on the strength of "Sunday Shining," which is a great reggae fusion (a thing that I just learned is an official thing today!) track and a song that's been in my music library for like seven years. Maverick a Strike starts out very well, surrounding "Sunday Shining" with pretty good songs... and then from track five on it basically turns into uninteresting background dub. I could sum up a song as "a middling bass line that Finley Quaye occasionally talks over for four minutes" and it would describe literally over half the album. Bummer.

Best Track: not counting "Sunday Shining" because that is by far the best track but not one that I discovered through getting this album. So instead let's go with the opener, "Ultra Stimulation." In a lot of ways, it's basically like all the songs I described as hating, but it comes first and has an honest-to-goodness hook.

87. 'Volume One' by She & Him (15th December 2014)

87 in 74 days. 13 ahead of schedule still.

Smashing Pumpkins album was incredibly underwhelming. 'Anti-Hero' was the best track, but the album wasn't at all enthralling.

The two Christmas albums were just more music I didn't need to pay attention to as seasonal tracks won't go on my regular rotation, but Mariah's effort was okay, whereas Idina's was really quite good for a Christmas album. Might check out more of Idina's music at some point.

She & Him is Zooey Deschannel's band that I'd never heard of until today. Decided to check it out and it's quite lovely. If I had to describe it in picture form (weird, I know, but it's what was in my head), I'd make it a girl in a sun dress on an old western country farm. Zooey's voice reminds me more than a bit of June Carter Cash. The album as a whole is good, and there's some nice little tunes on there including 'Sentimental Heart', 'Change Is Hard', 'I Was Made For You', 'Sweet Darlin'' 'Black Hole', among others. Worth checking out.

Slacked off a bit in recent weeks and decided to listen to some stuff that I have before, just to re-jog my memory again and get back into things. Playmates was the first new listen.
Neon Bible is a good album with great range when you compare songs like My Body is a Cage to Keep the Car Running, I think every song is worth a listen, nothing worth skipping on this album.
The Suburbs is one of my all-time favourite albums, first listened to it on a Summer holiday a few years ago and it's always reminded me of that time, especially with the themes of growing up and childhood as major parts of it. Whilst there are a few tracks that may, may be considered as filler, it's hard to have a pick of the songs with the title track, Ready to Start, Half Light II, Deep Blue and Suburban War all battling it out. Great album.
Keep it Hid has the classic blues rock that the Black Keys miss now, I like to think that the Black Keys are better with Auerbach singing with less production and the moody blues to it. Decent album.
Suck it and See is the weakest of the Arctic Monkeys album although there's one or two songs worth a listen. The song names are more interesting than the actual content. Should have stuck with the sound from Humbug.
Record Collection was hit and miss.
Playmates had some good tunes, liked what I heard and worth a couple of re-listens.

90. 'The Christmas Collection' by Il Divo (16th December 2014)

91. 'Volume Three' by She & Him (16th December 2014)

91 in 75 days. 16 ahead of schedule and powering ahead (see how long that lasts at Christmas break).

She & Him Christmas was discovered after Volume One, and since it allowed me to check their discography and have a Christmas album I didn't have to add to my regular rotation, I went for that. Pretty good as far as Christmas albums go, but Zooey's voice doesn't really work so great for many Christmas songs.

Volume Two was pretty good, not as good as Volume One, and it lost it's country sound in favour of a more soulful sound, but still a nice little album with plenty of good songs. 'Thieves', 'Don't Look Back', 'Lingering Still', 'Me & You', 'Gonna Get Along', 'Home' and 'Over It Over Again' could make regular rotation given time.

Ill Divo was a filler album again, nothing at all inspiring about it.

Volume Three (continuing this sudden love for She & Him) is good, it's a bit more of it's own sound this time, but there's certainly some influences of jazz and haunting 80s pop in there. I think I still prefer Volume One, but it's not a bad effort. Best songs are 'I've Got Your Number, Son', 'Never Wanted Your Love', 'Baby', 'Together' and 'Sunday Girl' (cover of the Blondie song).

Next album puts me a quarter of the way there!

92 in 76 days. 16 ahead of schedule and quarter of the way with this one, so decided to award myself with a new album I've been really looking forward to.

Miiiistake. I generally like Tom "listening to streaming music legally is as bad as elephant poaching" DeLonge's music, even though he himself is a humongous bell end, but this album was just so incredible middle of the road. Nothing inspiring at all about it, nothing offensive, just a really "meh" album. They tried something new, but it just doesn't work at all. Let down. Best track was probably "Bullets In The Wind", but it's an above average song on a very average album.

97. 'What a Night! A Christmas Album' by Harry Connick, Jnr. (19th December 2014)

97 in 78 days. 19 ahead of schedule, which should buffer me for the risk of a quiet Christmas and then some (I do most of my listening on lunch breaks and biking to/from work), but still got time to add the figures with those magical Christmas albums that don't require focus.

She & Him's "Classics" album was pretty good. Not very cohesive as an album, but since it's covers that's to be expected. Plenty of good tracks - "Stars Fell On Alabama", "Oh No, Not My Baby", "It's Not For Me To Say", "Time After Time", "She", "Unchained Melody" and "We'll Meet Again". Worth a listen just for Zooey's voice adding it's lovely sound to some classics.

Scarlett Johansson (yes, that one) has an album, and whilst it's certainly a good listen, and a solid album, it only really produces "I Wish I Was In New Orleans" as a stand out track. Worth a listen for the curiosity.

Simple Plan's album was very very generic pop-punk, nothing inspiring at all unless you're still a 13 year old in the early 2000s. "I'd Do Anything" is the upbeat stand out track, but I'm sure most people already heard that one. Not really worth checking out.

I echo Benji's thoughts on She & Him, a lovely album and Deschanel has a sweet voice. Decent album on the whole.
I will admit that some of Azalea's songs can be catchy, Beg For It or Black Widow are the highlights I would say. The beats are better than the wordplay though and overall, it's an okay album but I don't feel I'm missing out on anything.
Really enjoyed the Modest Mouse album, it's not the typical Modest Mouse affair but it's still a good listen. We've Got Everything, Florida and Spitting Venom are definitely worth a listen. Isaac Brock's vocals are underrated in my opinion.
Deap Valley were a disappointment, with the single "Baby I call Hell" being the only real stand out. Expected more from them, but came out as a bad female cover of Jack White and the rest of the Dead Weather.
Horse Feathers were pretty dull, not a fan.
Night Visions was decent, I have to say the pick of which was Amsterdam.
