July 2011 EWR New Promotions Discussion

Recommended Posts

Since there has abeen a lot of discussion this month regarding replacing promotions in EWR, I wanted to start a new thread, guaging people's interest in the different promotions.

I want everyone to have a voice in deciding which promotions get added, but I want to make it a little more involved than clicking a button and forgetting about it.

So, here's what I want... If you want a new promotion to be added to the game for the July update, this is what I need from you:

1: Name of the new promotion (also a link to the promotion's website would be nice).

2: The promotion you would REPLACE, in order to make room for the new promotion.

3: WHY you feel the new promotion would be better than the one you want to replace. Having knowledge on the promotion you want added REALLY counts.

Please limit your suggestions to one addition and one deletion per post. I'd also like each person to only suggest two promotions TOTAL. That way, one person isn't suggestiong six promotion changes. :)

If you are "seconding" a promotion addition (or deletion) you can post that, but, I still want to hear your #3 (WHY you feel the new promotion would be better than the one you want to replace. Having knowledge on the promotion you want added REALLY counts.)

I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, I just would rather add/delete promotions based on this info, as opposed to a simple cick vote. This way, I'm hoping we'll be able to keep up on the promotions added, as people will have genuine interest in them, as opposed to just "They are better than promotion X."

Promotions I would like to see leave:

  • NWA East: No one follows and it takes up the space that another promotion could jump into and be better maintained.
  • FIP: Runs shows only a few times in a year, staff and wrestlers could be better positioned else where in the game and top guys are all maxed out or left.
  • WFX: Does not appear to have done anything of note since being added nearly a year ago and would be a good place to put a new promotion.

Promotions I would like to see in the game:

    • 2CW (Square Circle Wrestling): from Upstate New York featuring Antonio Thomas, Brodie Lee, Davey Richards, Delirious, Dizzie, Jigsaw, John Walters(RJ Brewer of LLUSA fame,) Nikki Roxx, The Olsens, Portia Perez, Slyk Wagner Brown and Up In Smoke. Is a good promotion, I saw their first two shows in 2006 and they were enjoyable.
    • JCW (Juggalo Championship Wrestling): Runs weekly iPPVs and feature talents such as 2 Tuff Tony, Bull Pain, Colt Cabana, Corporal Robinson, Eugene, Jimmy Jacobs, Kiyoshi, Raven, Rhino, Robert Conway, Sabu, Sal (Thomaselli,) Scott Hall, Tracy Smothers, Truth Martinin, Vampiro and Zach Gowen. This promotion is on iPPV weekly so I think that is a big thing to consider that and they Juggalos.
    • Pro Wrestling World-1: from Philladelphia(YES another Philly fed) includes: Alex Anthony, Alex Payne, Bobby Dempsey, Bobby Shields, Chris Rockwell, Colby Corino, Craig Classic, Gran Akuma, Harlem Bravado, Kid America (Mike Kehner,) Lance Bravado, Marker Dillienger, Pelle Primeau, Roxxie Cotton, Ryan Eagles, Shane Hagadorn, Steve Corino and Sumie Sakai. I think this promotion should be in because it is different than other promotions trying to make wrestling the main thing.

I say take Wrestlicious or WFX for these promotions mainly because those 2 promotions are hardly ever updated with anything.

Magnum-Pro Wrestling: Magnum Pro Wrestling is an independent promotion based out of Council Bluffs, Iowa with offices in Southern California. On April 19, 2008 Magnum Pro opened its doors offering fights to competitors throughout the Midwest and surrounding regions. Approximately two years later, under the ownership of Anthony Maris, Magnum Pro made its So Cal debut at the West Coast Wrestling Company in Wildomar. With its promise of “high caliber pro wrestling” Magnum fighters employ Japanese junior heavyweight action with British mat work on their quest to bring back the sport of professional wrestling. Expect hard hitting, no nonsense, straight forward battles from any Magnum Pro bout. Fighters that have competed under the Magnum Pro banner include "Dangerous J" Jaysin Strife, "The Anarchist" Arik Cannon, Akira Tozawa, Team man pretty, Donnie Peppercricket, , “King of Strikes” Brandon Parker, "The Butcher" Tyler Bateman, "Pretty" Peter Avalon, SoCal crazy and more!

Now there's a few wrestlers in Magnum Pro that would need adding into the game before the promotion is added but I will do my best to get all the stats together for those wrestlers.

Those guys are: Abu Colossus, Brian Gott, Dave Clark, Derek Cornell, Funny Bone, Ryan Kidd, Supafli, and Tyler Bateman.

The rest of the guys in the promotion are in the game.

And this promotion: Pro Wrestling Phoenix share pretty much the same talent with Magnum Pro Wrestling. Not everybody though.

Abu Colossus, Brian Gott, Dave Clark, Derek Cornell, Jaysin Strife, and Supafli appear on both rosters of the promotions.

Not much is known about this promotion except that it's in the same area as Magnum Pro.

Promotions I would like to see taken out:

-IWA: Roster has ten people, the smallest in-game. Seldom, if ever, updated. Unless it is given a major overhaul and some attention I see no reason why it should be kept in.

-IWC: Second smallest roster. Also seldom updated.

Promotions I would like to see added:

-JCW: There's been a lot about them on wrestling news sites in the past few months. They run very consistently with most, if not all of the roster in game.

-PWS: Run consistently with most, if not all of the roster in-game. A mixture of indy names with big star talent, such as Devon Moore, Eddie Kingston, Sami Callihan, Sonjay Dutt, Amazing Red, Rich Swann, Sid Vicious, Mick Foley, etc. http://www.bedofnailz.com/pwsindex.html

1. JCW, PWF Northeast

2. NWA East, IWA

3. I second JCW, and PWF Northeast is another New England area promotion I can update and follow consistently. I would love to add New England Championship Wrestling but they have only recently been getting more active (Before the end of this month, they hadn't ran a show since November 2010), but honestly, I'm good with any other promotion, as long as the aforementioned promotions are removed, and the new ones can be updated well.

- I know I've already requested 2 promotions but here's another 1 the could also possibly be added in: Fight The World Pro Wrestling(FTW)

- I say take out APW. The roster in game is nowhere near what it really is because there's a few guys missing. There's hardly any updates on their website.

- Why it needs to be added? It features alot of great wrestlers that already in the game such as Balls Mahoney, Homicide, Grim Reefer, Dan Barry(I think he's in), Josh Daniels, Lenn Oddity(I requested for him to be added in next month), Javi Air, Matt Taven, Spyral, Tommaso Ciampa, Barbie, and Divina Fly(aka Rosita from TNA). The tag team called 'The Best Around' aka TJ Cannon and Bruce Maxwell are on the roster. Mick Foley makes appearances from time to time.

Anybody but NWA Championship Wrestling From Hollywood and I'm good.

I agree with everybody about APW, it's hard to keep updated, stuff isn't easy to find.

I recommend adding the Urban Wrestling Federation, there first show is coming up and they've got a solid well known roster. It would be an easy promotion to keep updated as well, because it doesn't seem very hard to find information and updates about them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_Wrestling_Federation

^^There's already a lot of good info about them and they haven't even ran a show yet.

I want to suggest that but there isn't even one show though it will be on ppv. It does have weight because a majority of the talent are in the game besides the rappers, BC Killer, Big Business, Eddie Carnage and maybe Buck Chyld(a Buck Child is in the game, not sure it is the same person.) Everyone else is in the game already even the announcer (Larry Legend,) owner (Steve Karel) and a referee (Jimmy Dylan is not but Dee is.) If it's in it's in but I would rather wait and make sure that it lasts first.

Oh and Fusion, Dan Barry is in the game, he was from NYWC.

I just want to say that you shouldn't get rid of wfx b/c it has some great talent and if someone wants to try with a smaller company they could use it coz there's big names they can relate to.

It may have "big names" but the promotion was pushed to be put in and then we do not hear updates for it since the last guy was added...<_<

You're right there hasn't been a show yet, but the first one is June 3rd and that's in just over a week, so I figure it'll be relevant soon enough.

Don't really have a promotion to delete to have room for this promotion, but maybe it should be added anyway: http://www.zerooneusa.com/index.php

Take a look at it and decide for yourselves.

Here's another japanese-american promotion, you could possibly add: http://bjw-usa.com/

Also here's a website dedicated to pretty much every indy promotion around the world: http://prowrestlingpromotions.webs.com/

This promotion's roster appeals to me: http://www.aiwrestling.com/

However, there are alot of people missing from the game. If there are any people that can help me get the missing people's stats together, then that would be great.

This would also happen to be a great promotion that has a great roster: http://www.insanityprowrestling.com/index2.html

What kind of shit is this: http://www.kaiju.com/home.htm

What about these guys: http://www.magwrestling.com/

- Just for your information, I'm thinking that Magnum Pro Wrestling(The one I posted earlier in the thread) and Absolute Intense Wrestling(The one I posted in this post).

I don't see a reason for the Japanese promotions, AIW or Kaiju to be added into the games. The Japanese promotions are not promoted in North America besides New Japan (who should be a part of JAPW IMO.) AIW has too many guys either maxed out (The Crists, AeroForm, Del Ray, Portia, Gargano and Colt) or others who are not in the game. Kaiju IMO is too gimmicky and is not actually wrestling. I think Kaiju was in an older game but so was UFC which is not wrestling.

I looks like JCW is the clear promotion to add as of right now. Every other promotion has one suggestion for each. I would be fine with UWF, once I know the can last and run more than one show. Only their First Blood Show is promoted for now.

The only promotion I'd suggest that hasn't been is Pro Wrestling Fusion out of Florida. Fusion has The Shiek (Current NWA Champion) Craig Classic, Chris Jones, Sinn, Fracncisto Ciasto, Shawn Spears, Scoot Andrews, Bruce Santee, The Shane Twins, Heartbreak Express, The Lifeguards, Mike (Titan) Jarvi, TJP, Christopher Gray, Brad Allen, CJ Doyle and Vordell Walker among others.

Can you explain your reasoning for this like Bill wants? Not being a dick, just wanting to have a good reason to add a fed or not.

For the promotion to remove it looks to be WFX in the lead with APW, NWA East and IWA tied for the second promotion. Just stating the up to date "leader board if you will."

Okay, straight down the line. 2 Well Known Indy Promotion vs 1 Unknown Indy Promotion, in my opinion they both have wrestlers already in the game, JCW Roster, is pretty much seriously stacked.

I think that Mexico should me more considered (One or two more promotions, and many other wrestlers one the data).

DTU is the Mexican promotion I'd want to see because they have a steady roster, the problem is there's too many guys not in the game as only six of that roster is in the game. That or perhaps Perros Del Mal. A majority of the roster are in the game.
