  1. I don't really like Johnson but he's been pretty good these two games I thought. Has put in a few crucial (and very well executed) tackles and has used his pace well to help cover to stop the attacker the times they've strolled past Terry.

I also love Danny Welbeck. It's always great to see a young, local lad make it for your team and is even greater when he makes the transition to scoring winning goals for England too. I thought he understood the "it's important to actually keep the ball" thing too that eluded Parker and Gerrard. Hopefully he'll stay in the team with Rooney against Ukraine. Taking Carroll out might also make the other players keep the ball on the deck too, rather than their searching balls forward that more often than not found nobody.

  2. I support Man Utd and I'm not even bothered that City won the title. I hate Liverpool and Chelsea a lot more than Man City, so I'm just glad to see both of them doing shit. Chelsea are in the CL final, they're still shit in the league.

Support your own team before you focus on how others do. What's the point in 'supporting' a team if their final standings have no bearing on you. Not bothered that City won the league?! City are much, much bigger rivals to us than Chelsea and always will be. I suspect in the years to come you'll start to think this too once they win more titles that we are also competing for.

  3. Yeah, Neville showed it pretty well on that giant iPad Sky have. That little step forward Smalling made meant he lost the yard he needed to beat Kompany in the air. Small margins but it's what games like this are decided by.

Watching the match yesterday was probably the most nervous I've ever been in a game since the Chelsea final in 2008. All I saw the whole day around town was United and City shirts. I went out the pub for a bit of air at half time and it was as empty as I've ever seen Manchester. The only people on the street were guys outside pubs, hardly even any cars going past.

Still think there'll be one more twist in the title race, whether it be us or City dropping points somewhere.

  4. On my Blackburn game, Swansea were 5th place in the Premier League and pushing for the top four in December 2012. Then Brendan Rodgers left to take over at Newcastle, and Swansea chose to replace him with Steve Kean. Since his appointment, Kean has won one Premier League match in 17 games, and is currently on a 15 match winless run in all competitions. They now sit 16th, two points above the relegation zone. bang.gif

This reminds me of a game I played a while ago when, after Mancini moved to become Arsenal manager (four places below City in the league at the time!), they replaced him with Steve Kean. I'm sure you can all guess what happened...

Steve Kean - Premier League and Champions League winning manager.

  5. PIZARRO~! :w00t: Was so happy to see him get an assist and then the goal yesterday, only just caught the match this morning but City are back playing better now they have Yaya and Kompany back in the team. So unlucky for Aguero when he hit the crossbar, but he had an excellent game and ran Porto ragged at times.

Also, Hulk can sometimes be great, but last night it seemed like he wanted to try and take on City all on his own and he just wasn't able to do so.

Worst thing about the match was that I had to watch the game on GOLTV (a download from it anyway) and dear lord American's are the worst for calling footie matches. I can deal with calling itsoccer because Americans don't understand sports :shifty:, but road goals? DE-FENCE? Prem-eer league? Not being able to see an offside, even after a replay? And whoever decided the replays, I'd have loved to actually know why that Porto player (can't remember which defender it was to be honest) got the second yellow. Worst commentary ever. And I had to put up with Gary Neville's idiocy and bias when watching English teams versus the foreign guys.

    Fuck America(n commentators) >_>.

I watched a game on GOL TV once, it is awful. Did they have that Geordie commentator on? The match I watched was Barca vs. Real a few years back and the man has the biggest erection over Messi I've ever heard. I remember him very loudly proclaiming that Messi "lives in the magnetic spectrum of GENIUS" (and that probably wasn't even the most cringeworthy statement he made).

  6. Fun thing: Alex Ferguson retired to be replaced with ALAN CURBISHLEY.

Alan Curbishly replaced me when I left my Southampton team for Chelsea. It only took the guy three months to ruin what I spent 6 years building.
