I guess it's my turn to play, cause well... I'm really bored until my girl gets home.
1. Pretty Girl (The Way) - Sugarcult
I fell in love with Sugarcult when I heard their song 'Stuck in America', so I went to find more. This one came up, and I downloaded it. Every time I listen to this song, it reminds me so much of my friend Jess. Not in the voices, but the lyrics remind me of her trials and tribulations.
2. One Emotion - Clint Black
Clint Black is one of my favorite country artists, always has been. With my recent foray into the realm of love and romance, this song has a little more meaning to me than it did when I initially acquired it. It also helps I'm a sucker for a good love song.
3. Enter Sandman - Mighty Mighty Bosstones
I really like the original version of Enter Sandman, problem is I can't usually sit through the whole song cause there's usually something I want to listen to more. This cover alleviates that problem, same song, half the time. Can't beat that... or maybe you can.
4. Brand New Key - Melanie
Yeah, I listen to a lot of older stuff too. Just a catchy little tune, that I suppose one could file as a guilty pleasure for me. I got a brand new pair of roller skates, you got a brand new key.
5. Worry Rock - Green Day
I love me some Green Day, and Worry Rock is my all time favorite Green Day song. It's a song I've never gotten tired of, no matter how many millions of times I've played it. Not the deepest song or anything, but I like it and that's what makes it good.
6. Sink the Bismarck - Johnny Horton
Johnny Horton is an artist my mom and my grandparents got me listening to. I like most of his songs, although a lot of them are songs about wars, battles, and other items involved in war. This one is one of the first of his songs I fell in love with.
7. Til Santa's Gone - Clint Black
I still love some Clint Black, and this happens to be one of my favorite Christmas songs. Although, I think it's only cause I'm a huge fan of Milk and cookies. It's a nice little song, and it stays in my playlist year all the time, just like another favorite Christmas song, "Ding-a-ling the Christmas Bell" by Conway Twitty.
8. Kansas City Star - Roger Miller
If you don't like any Roger Miller, I must question your taste in music. Sure a lot of his stuff is silly and whimsical, but it's still better than a lot of the junk on the radio. I love the inclusion of a tuba in this particular song.
9. Inside Out - Eve 6
Sometimes a song catches you with it's music, sometimes with a simple riff, other times it's a lyric. For some reason, the lyric 'wanna put my tender heart in a blender...' caught me. I had to get it, I ended up buying the CD, and wearing it out. I still grab some Eve 6 when I'm in a position I can download quickly.
10. Feel - The Immigrants
There are apparently a lot of bands called the Immigrants, this one is probably the least known. I initially heard them on a soundtrack for EA's NHL 04 (maybe it was 03), it took me months to find that song "Holding Onto This Somehow" when I found that, I grabbed this song as well. I love it almost as much as the other. I wish more people knew about this group of Immigrants.
