  3. I live on the west coast, so we're maybe a little slow to get the trendy shit. Actually, it's just me that's slow, because I don't listen to topten radio. The rest of the left coast probably falls right in line.

So just how bad is this frog thing? I'm not going to click a link and listen to it on purpose, but, for example, is it worse than "Who let the dogs out?" Is it worse than the Macarena or the Chicken dance? Is it bad enough that they will probably make a plastic frog that plays the song, ala Billy the Bigmouth Bass?

  4. Having just got back into reading, I've managed to work my way through a few books in the past month or two. First was Vol.1 of Ian Kershaw's biography of Hitler, which was pretty good, although too detailed, which caused some parts to be a little boring. Oh, and before that there was another book about the Berlin bunker.

After that I moved on to the first two books of the Star Wars: New Jedi Order series, namely Vector Prime and Dark Tide: Onslaught. Both were very enjoyable, the first more so, and even though I don't really read EU material, I had no problem keeping up with the story and any characters that have been introduced since Return of the Jedi.

Next was The Rough Guide to Bob Dylan. It's a pocket-sized book, with the first half being a biography and the second focusing on Dylan's work in music and films, as well as the best bootlegs etc. It was a great read, as I found out everything I needed to know without getting bogged down in detail.

And right now I'm reading Shout!, which is a biography of The Beatles. I'm about 100 pages in, and it's been interesting thus far, as I'm finding out about their formative years, something I knew nothing about.

Due to a mass order from Play.com, I have another four books to read after Shout!:

    1. Smile: Brian Wilson's lost masterpiece (Self-explanatory really)

    2. Syd Barrett: Crazy Diamond (Biography of the man himself)

    3. Inside Out: A Personal History of Pink Floyd (The Nick Mason Autobiography)

    4. Hammer of the Gods (Led Zeppelin biography)

After these I'll hopefully get ahold of the next few New Jedi Order books, before finally reading Vol 2 of the Hitler biography, and I have Ricky Tomlinson's biography sitting around somewhere, which I may or may not take a look at.

  5. Is there anyway I can have MTW in a window, so that it's easier for me to access Word? I've been switching between the two via Alt+Tab, but after a while the game closes for some reason, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to make the game a window, so that I don't have to lose sight of the screen each time.

    Any takers?

  6. Why do they need to include an option to rip off women's clothes? Seriously.

It is like the bra and panties match, I find it a stupid addition as I have only ever used it once when I first played it, and then never again. Do people seriously get excited about computer characters with no clothes?

  7. Someone just mentioned the Office Christmas special. That brought it back to me. I cried like a three-year old whenever Dawn was on her way to the airport and opened the present from Tim. Really sentimental moment.

  8. The aforementioned episode of ER.

The 8 Simple Rules episodes after John Ritter's death. Really got to me for some reason.

One of the final episodes of Friends where Ross asks Rachel to stay and she goes anyway, and he says to Pheobe "I really thought she'd stay".

    Guess that's about it actually.

  9. Plus, his rationale for turning to the darkside was to save Padme's life but then he chokes her with the force thinking she betrayed him. Then when he's Vader, he asks how she's doing. Huh?

That's because his real reason for turning was personal, like wanting to be a powerful jedi, his lack of emotional maturity, etc. Him going to the darkside to save Padme's life was almost his personal rationalization, when in reality it was the things I had mentioned.

  10. Could someone link me to/give me a list of the books that involve the Yuuzhan Vong storyline in chronological order? I want to get round to buying them, but Amazon doesn't help me in this respect. By the way, how is Yuuzhan Vong pronounced?

Oh, and is NJO a good place to start seriously venturing into the EU, or should I have another starting point?

  11. It's only the prequels that have made the stormtroopers "all clones". You can see in the Timothy Zahn books (which I know are not applicable to the 'real' SW universe - but were written under the constraints of what the official history was at the time), where they talk of clones being made illegal after the end of the Clone Wars. With this older history, Han's imperial background fits in perfectly.

This makes sense to me. With Palpatine being in power, I can't imagine he'd enjoy seeing a GENUINE Seperatist force, with clones of their own, rise to take him on. I imagine that the Kaminoans (the cloners) would have either been killed or went into exile after finding out the extent of Palpatine's deception. We know that Palpatine keeps at least one of the Cloning facilities in one peice in his personal storhouse on Wayland. By the time of ANH most of the origional 'Stormtrooper' Clones (from ROTS) would be 20 years older anyway (barring genetic tampering to keep them young). I imagine that the Empire would have to recruit (or Conscript) many other soldiers to replace the clones, or just to police the ever expanding Empire.
