I'd say that a large percentage of the acts are only in it for the publicity. It looks good on a resume, wouldn't you say?

To be honest, I wouldn't care for a Pink Floyd reunion unless it was with Syd Barrett, and the odds against that are astronomical.
-
They were talking about this on Richard and Judy today and Richard mentioned that it is rumoured Pink Floyd may re-unite for Live 8.

What was with that kid's voice? He sounded like Del Boy with that ridiculous cockney accent.

Obi-Wan didn't know where Yoda was until after his death, at least that's what I assume. Kenobi would have spoken with Yoda much like Qui-Gon would have with him.
Didn't the original script have a scene of Obi-Wan communing with Qui-Gon?

Is it just me, or does it seem to be that Lucas got the structure and idea of the Empire from Nazi Germany? With Palpatine becoming Chancellor (like Hitler in 1933), being given extra powers with an enabling act (again Hitler in '34), building an army (Hitler started rearmament), and declaring himself "Emperor" (like "Fuhrer"), it all seems to tie together nicely.
Is there any substance to my thoughts, or am I talking bullshit?
EDIT: Oh, and I just found this. Best thing ever...well best Star Wars lego thing ever

I was watching episode IV last night actually, and I was watching for the interaction between Obi Wan and Artoo. When tey first meet in the Junland Wastes, Obi Wan acts kind of confused when Luke tells him that the R2 unit was looking for an "Obi Wan Kenobi" and he notes. "I don't remember ever owning a droid..." while this can most likely be taken as him not knowing the droid at all, for continuitys sake, it also refers to the fact that he never actually owned either\or... err right?

Would you need to have read the comics to understand the story, or is it fairly accessible to newbies?

Rock.
I was thinking Metal, but my definition is kinda the 80s version with stuff like Judas Priest. That's now classified as "Rock".
Besdies, when you're favorite band has a song about rock seemingly in every album they've recorded, (AC/DC), it kinda sums it up.
Judas Priest is more metal than 90% of today's "metal" bands.
And AC/DC's your favorite band? I'm sorry.

My granny and grandpa are moving house, and are clearing out all the old shit they don't want/don't have room for. Today they presented me with a box full of Reader's Digest hardback novel collections. I was just wondering, does Reader's Digest contain the whole book, or is it "edited" (i.e. made shitter)?

Rock, easily. 70s and 80s are my favourites. There's not a lot of modern bands that I actually have much of an interest in.

Was the game "Shadows Of The Empire" based on a series of books? I liked that evil guy in it. He reminded me of Gumby.

What part did Jar Jar actually play?

I think it's the one where Billy Connolly voiced the dog, isn't it? A Jack Russell?
I'll try and find it now .
EDIT: It's Paws, I think.

Ha ha! Come on the Blues!!!!!!!!!
I can now sleep soundly in my bed tonight, knowing the Gers have won the title. I could probably kiss the Motherwell team right about now. And maybe a few fans too. That means you Kraig

It hurt my ears .
Seriously though, it did provoke a smile. Which is an achievement in itself .

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange
a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl,
year after year,
running over the same old ground. What have we found?
The same old fears,
wish you were here.

I have to admit that I was largely indifferent to him for a long time. He was great in POTC though, stole every scene he was in. But then I saw Donnie Brasco, which is, imo, an amazing film. Depp acted so well with Pacino, and that one film convinced me that he truly is a great actor. Anyone that can keep up with Al must be doing something right.

Empire, no question. Second is probably Jedi, because it was always my favourite when I was younger. Jabba, the Ewoks and the space battle.
But Empire, despite being the one I least liked when I first saw them, is just a fantastic movie. The lightstabre duel between Vader and Luke, everything in Cloud City, Boba Fett (the series' coolest character by the way), it just is a neat little package.
I watched it last week and it's still a great movie, even when you know the twist.

So near the end when Nute Gunray thinks he has the Queen, and another one turns up with the make-up and all, is that one the fake and the one captured the real one? Sorry if that was confusing.

I bought five at once:
Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
Led Zeppelin - II
Led Zeppelin - III
The Who - The Kids are Alright
Whitesnake - Ready and Willin'
All good-great, especially the Dylan album, which is now one of 10 favourites. I thought collectively they were worth £35

Could someone explain to me about Padme and Queen Amidala? Are they different people? Are they the same? I just found it really confusing. In Episode I, Padme's a handmaiden, but in Episode II she's the former queen. I feel dumb
Any help is appreciated.

I will, for the same reasons as YI.

I'm a big fan of Pete and Geoff on Virgin, but they're a distant second by Jonathan Ross on Radio 2. I'm not going to say it's always funny, but when it is, it cracks me up. For the perfect example, look up his rant on the Channel 5 schedule on his show's site .
That random song that's stuck in your head.

All day I've had "Radio Ga Ga" by Queen in my head. Good song, but it's driving me mad.
Speaking of Queen, everytime someone says pressure I can't help but hum "Under Pressure". Does this make me weird?
